The price he quoted was double what his website said. The pricing page DOES NOT mention an "up-charge" for s.u.v.`s. It is mentioned on another page, the "schedule now" page .... this is classic Bait and switch. His site also says "They" will pick-up your car at your place and drop it back off after the detail, leading you to think there is multiple employees. It`s just him. I (the customer) was supposed to meet him at HIS SHOP at 8 am and we drive to MY HOUSE, he takes my car to his shop, he comes back later after the detail and we drive back to his shop where I drop him off. I have a reasonably clean Terrain (no kids, no pets) and he (initially) wanted 450.00 for a complete in/out detail. I was SHOCKED so he knocked off 50.00 down to 400.00. I paid a 50.00 deposit for the job that was booked 7 days out. I went home and thought about it and e-mailed him TWO HOURS LATER for a refund. He called right back trying to sell the job. I could not get my 50.00 deposit back even though it was a whole week before the job. He may do nice work but his website is full of "in-accuracies." So it goes to arbitration with my credit card. read more

Had my SUV detailed 3/30/21. It was a mess due to me neglecting it over the winter. I was glad to pay someone else to do for me and their price was reasonable. I scheduled the $99 interior package. I requested contact through their website and Ivan called me back that day. He was courteous and genuine. The day of the service, he came and picked up my vehicle, so I didn't have to arrange for a ride. When I got it back I couldn't believe the difference. (But if I paid full price I could come in right away. That was my first tip off that this guy was sketchy). I called today to confirm my appt and ask what time I should come. He said "I don't know. Call me tomorrow." I was frustrated with his response so I went on Yelp again (I had gone on Yelp 3 months ago but no reviews at that point) and then I saw all these bad reviews confirming exactly what I feared would happen. In May 2015, I purchased a "deal" on Living Social for Auto Shine Detail. The deal was for an "Interior Detail and Exterior Detail" for a large SUV and was purchased for $89. The deal was advertised as being valued at $258. Immediately after purchasing the deal, I contacted the owner of Auto Shine Detail to schedule my service. When I reached him, he explained to me that he doesn't make any money off of these Living Social deals and, therefore, can only schedule details for two Living Social customers per week. He explained that because of this, he could not complete my detail until August 20, 2015. Such a wait was not a stipulation of the deal, and I became suspicious at that time that he was violating the agreement of the Living Social contract, but chose to schedule the service and wait the three months anyway. He scheduled me for a noon drop-off on August 20 and stated that I would be able to pick my vehicle up by 4:00 PM on the day of service. On August 20, 2015, I arrived at Auto Shine Detail at 11:45 AM. The owner was detailing another vehicle when I arrived. I noticed that he glanced at the "deal" voucher in my hands and then he told me that I would have to leave my vehicle overnight with him and that I would be not be able to pick it up from him until the morning of August 21, 2015. I stated that the agreement was that I would be able to pick my vehicle up at 4:00 PM and could not leave it overnight. He then told me that I could pick it up at 9:00 PM that evening. I told him that I could not do that either. He then told me that I could pick it up at 7:00 PM. Again, I told him that I could not do that. Finally, he stated that he would have it done at the scheduled time. I grew concerned about the service that he was planning to provide if just moments prior he was too busy to complete the service per the previously scheduled time. He explained what he was planning to complete and the explanation was essentially a car wash and spray wax - not the equivalent of the services listed for an exterior detail as detailed on his website. After arguing my point for about a half hour, the owner stated that for Living Social deals, he only provides the services of "Package 2" as listed on his website. "Package 2" is valued at $145, not $258 as he is advertising via Living Social. Also, "Package 2" includes an exterior "clean," not an exterior "detail" which would include hand wax and buff. This is false advertisement and a scam. The owner is selling an Interior and Exterior Detail service with a claimed value of $258, with the intention of only actually performing a glorified, and much overpriced, car wash. I stated that this is false advertising and that I would be making a complaint with Living Social and the Better Business Bureau. To that comment, he asked whether I believed in God and stated that if I believed in God, I wouldn't be trying to "ruin" him. read more

I had my car detailed on Saturday 5/20/17 at Auto Shine Detail. Ivan told me to meet him there at 8 am. He was very punctual and promised to have the car finished by noon. I went out with a friend and when I returned my car looked AMAZING! The outside had a glass like finish that I have never seen, even when it was brand new! The inside was also impeccable. Are you tired of businesses that schedule appointments and keep them and then perform excellent services with outstanding customer service? Well, if so, and you are looking for a business run by a rude, lying, deceptive proprietor, than this is the place for you! My wife and I were also Groupon victims. I actually may have more of a problem with Groupon at this point unless they refund our money and I don't mean with "Groupon bucks" or whatever they call them. Shame on them, for not vetting the businesses they engage for these deals. I expect just a few of the victims adversely affected by this conman have made there way here to post their reviews. Groupon must have received many more complaints caused by this promotion. I'm surprised the minute you contact them and say the words "Auto Shine Detail" they don't simply say "You can stop right there, the check's in the mail". We are done with Groupon and just want our cash back. Our story is similar to others posted here. We bought the Groupon and had difficulty scheduling the appointment. When my wife finally reached the owner back in August he gave us a date 2 months later in October and rudely stated if we didn't make that appointment we didn't get the deal. We both arranged our work schedules to bring the car there on that date and it wasn't opened at 8 in the morning as specified on the website. I should have known it was a low rent operation when I saw the sign. Oh wait, there wasn't one! There wasn't actually any clear indication an auto detailing shop was operating out of the location. All we had to go on was the address until we ran into someone waiting for the neighboring business (Amorim Auto Sales) to open who was familiar with Auto Shine. I called the number on the Groupon and left a message and we went home. We left the car but not the keys so only one of us would have to go back. The owner called back and said he didn't have an appointment down for us. After pushing him some and recounting the conversation he told my wife he wanted to see the Groupon. She drove back there and once again he was rude and finally said he would do the car and we could pick it up at 10PM. My wife told him that was unacceptable (in 2 words) and left. We both had to go back and get the car and the owner was on his cell phone outside the business and turned to avoid making any eye contact. Some people just aren't cut out to be in business and this guy is one of them. He has zero customer service skills and doesn't live up to his commitments. The nicest thing you could say about him is that he makes bad business decisions and doesn't keep them. The worst way to parse it is that he attempted to use the Groupon deal for free advising and/or some sort of bait and switch con or just plain reneg on the deal. Customers shouldn't have to hear his whining about how he doesn't make any money on the promotion. If that's the case, than why didn't he recognize that before agreeing to run it? If he'd performed the service and we were satisfied, we surely would have gone back because the regular pricing was reasonable and the location is convenient. Instead I'm here sharing my experience as yet another unhappy potential customer. Maybe he should have thought of taking the long approach to making his participation in this promo pay off. Instead, he's rudely treating the people who purchased the deal as second class customers as if it's their fault and not respecting their time and efforts made to work with him on having the service performed. It is obvious he was using any tactic he could to weasel out of living up to his Groupon commitment including putting the date off, saying the detailing cannot be finished until late until the night or even the next day, and even trying to charge his regular price or provide just a car wash. I can't believe he tried to use a religious angle with one of the prior reviewers. From our experience those of other reviewers it's apparent he's not conducting himself in any such manner. Guess he's never heard of "Do unto others". On the other hand, he did screw us over, so maybe in the long run he's screwing himself as well. Final thought: I have to wonder if this businesses primary function is to detail cars for Amorim Auto Sales and he runs a side business detailing cars for others when he came. They are in the same building and it might explain the absence of a sign. I'm not implying any guilt by association but it does give one food for thought. read more

I recently purchased a used car that had some scratches on the exterior and some paint stains on the interior seats and floor. I brought it over to Auto Shine to be detailed and was told that most of the scratches would come out, with the exception of several that would need paint. He also took a look at the interior and assured me that the stains wouldn't be a problem. When I arrived back at the shop to pick up the car, it appeared that nothing had been done to it. The scratches on the exterior of the car were all still there, no difference at all. Some of them were very superficial and I could actually just wipe them off with wax at my house-further proving that nothing had been done. In addition, the paint stains on the interior of the car were still there. On top of barely touching the car, he attempted to charge me an extra 100$ because it took an hour long than quoted, which was not true. I was quoted 12-5 when I made the appointment and the car was ready by 430, right in the allotted time frame. So how could it have taken an extra hour? None of this made sense. When I explained this to him he refused to give me a refund or to actually do the job that I payed him to do! About 2 years ago I bought my fiance a Groupon for a car detail - great price. When we called to schedule, it was about 2 months out, but whatever. He got his car detailed and it was great, couldn't have asked for better so we bought his Mom a Groupon for her birthday as well as his sister. Both cars came out great, but the guy tried to get my fiance's Mom to pay for extra things that were absolutely ridiculous and he ended up giving my fiance a really hard time and being argumentative telling him he didn't car if he never had our business again. Well, after several months had passed, and after wanting and needing a car detail, we caved and got the Living Social deal for myself, but ONLY because we had a 30% off coupon. We bought the deal in October, 2015. We called in November, 2015 to make an appointment and asked for a Saturday appointment since I work 8-5 Monday - Friday. Apparently he doesn't make appointments on the weekends for Groupon/Living Social deals -- seriously? Whatever. So we made an appointment for a Friday in January, 2016 because that was the soonest he could get us in - over two months out. Again, seriously? He told us to drop if off for 9am, but the day before my appointment we called and asked if we could drop it off around 8:00-8:15 because I had to be to work, and at first he said no, then he said I could drop my car off with my keys in the car under the visor, unlocked. Um, no, that's definitely not happening. When we got there, his driveway was one big sheet of solid ice. I understand he washes cars, but he should really do something about that before one of his customers falls and hurts themselves. He's always been hard to understand and very rude, every time we've dealt with him on the phone OR in person. We definitely will NOT be giving him anymore business, EVER regardless of how good of a job he does. read more

If I could give no stars, I would. The person who owns this business is very unprofessional, a charlatan, and deserves no business from anyone. If you have a Living Social voucher for this business, contact Living Social immediately and request a refund. I wish I had checked out the reviews on Yelp before purchasing my voucher. The owner is rude, and like many of the "victims" of his deceitful practice, I was given the run around with scheduling and cancelling appointments. The owner called at the last minute each time to cancel-very unprofessional, considering that you have to drop off the car for hours and schedule your day around the detail. The owner seems like he does not want to honor the vouchers from Living Social, as he kept pushing the appointment dates right up to the expiration date of the voucher. I was not going to play that game, and contacted LS to get refunded. Avoid this business at all costs, voucher or no voucher. Those who have vouchers and have experienced similar issues with this business, contact Living Social or Groupon and request a refund. Explain to customer service why you want a refund, and lodge a complaint against this business. Hopefully Living Social and Groupon will remove them permanently if there are enough customer complaints. read more

If I could give 2 ratings it would be a 5 for how clean and nice it looked and a 0 for how I was treated by the person who detailed my car. I used a living social voucher and dropped my car off about 8am. I listened to my radio and used my bluetooth to use my cell phone. I then returned at about 745 to pick it up. It looked great although windows were shut and lots of condensation on inside of car due to shampooing of rugs. This was to be expected, but as my wife drove the Jeep home and I followed, she called to say the radio and console buttons were not working. I immediately called to explain the situation only to be told that the detailer "never touched the radio" and that it sometimes happens to cars due to moisture but is fine the next day. I wait overnight as he suggested but the radio is still not working. I call back and all i get is that it is not his fault and that he did his job and never touched the radio. I then explain that the moisture did something to the electrical since still not working and the 4 wheel drive light is stuck on. Again he denies and says he has no idea why it happened. I then tell him that I am taking the car to the dealer to be looked at and then we will see what further steps we must take to get it fixed. He first says I am trying to screw him and then asks me to "give it a few days". Why? Because he knows it was his fault and is hoping it fixes itself. I purchased a Living Social voucher from this business owner for an interior/exterior car detailing 3 months ago. I called him about 6 times before I got him - the number is his cell phone - he did not return any of my calls. He scheduled me out about 2 months. When I arrived at the scheduled day/time, he did not show up. I waited 40 minutes. He called me back that night and said he had to attend to some personal things and that he had left me a message on the previous week that he was canceling. I did not receive any message. He booked me ahead another 2 weeks, now days from the expiration of the deal. I arrived at 9am as scheduled and he was surprised. He said he had just started working on another car at 8am. He said I would have to wait 5-6 hours for my car. He said he was surprised that I was waiting rather than dropping off the car, although I had clearly stated that both times I scheduled the appointment. He told me to come back at 1030am but I live 40 minutes away. So I sat in the waiting area until 1230pm until both vehicles were done. Painful. He really did not seem to care at all about my inconvenience. He said he would not be doing any more groupons/living social deals and yet I see that he has a current deal listed. The quality of the work was good on the exterior of the vehicle - nice shine. The interior work was by no means showroom quality - did not wipe out any streaks from boots on the door jams or seats - but he got rid of a majority of dirt. You get what you pay for.
