From Good Men to Con Men in 4 days flat Several days ago, I gave Michael and Auto Technique a very positive feedback. I regretted it very much. They betrayed this loyal customer and totally rip me off. I am seriously considering reporting it to the authority. After I had good reasonable services from Auto Technique for the past few years (which prompted me to write that positive review), I took my 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe for engine oil and filter change (posted charge $40.00), automatic transmission oil and filter change (posted $150.00) and wheel/tire balance ($40.00). I left the car there for 4 hours to have the above work done. When I return to pick up the car, the bill was $40 + $340+$40+$20+20!! Total of $460.00. The expected fee should be $230.00. Nearly doubled. They went ahead and changed the air filter and cabin filter without getting approval from me (sin #1). And the air filter was not even that dirty. Then they claimed the Hyundai requires special transmission fluid that cost them $20 per litre, and it requires 8 litres. With their labour, it would cost $340.00. Well, Canadian Tires retails that oil for $13.00 per litre (sin #2). And they inflated the labour cost 3 times (sin #3). After a lengthy debates, I game them a $400.00 and quickly left the place. I was starting to feel unsafe. Auto Technique turns out to be another classic auto mechanic con man. Once they gain your trust, they will rip you off big time. Ok so I have been going here for a while but only for oil changes on my Colorado truck and my Audi A5. For my last oil change on my truck all the oil blew out and I was out of town so had to go get oil a half hour away, they blamed the ring on the filter, then they gave me a free oil change on my car for my trouble, ha, after this oil change I get a reading to drain oil and so back I go and they correct it, then a day later I notice oil in my driveway which already had a huge stain from my truck, so I had my brakes done elsewhere and he told me it was coming from drain plug so back I go and it took two men 40 minutes to get the drain plug out whuch they puyt in a week before and of course blamed the plug but why didn't they change it to begin with. On top of that they use oil not up to spec for my vehicle and cheap filters. Do yourself a favor and avoid this shop. read more

I give them a guy 0 stars! The worst customer service ever. Did a oil change and the next day the bottom of my car was leaking oil destroyed my driveway. I took the car back and he said its not his problem read more

The owner of this place was absolutely terrible. When I came into the parking lot in the morning, he was tailing me. I went to park but needed to adjust my car. Guy reverses into the spot next to me without even letting me adjust my car. He then realize that I had to adjust and finally let me do it after 2 minutes. I've never been so frustrated in my life by such an impatient and rude driver. Funny thing is i walked into his shop accidentally. Guy rudely calls me out for not closing the door instead of being polite. I start talking to the guy and I think he says wait but I don't hear him well. So I politely reply "pardon me?" and he shouts "WAIT PLEASE" in the rudest tone possible. I left after 3 minutes to go to another shop even though they were all busy. I was not going to give this guy any business. I do see him outside and he goes like where are you going? I told him it's okay and he waves me off. Haha I read the other review on this guy here. My experience was positive. I required new front breaks in June 2019. The work was completed in a timely, professional manner at a reasonable cost. After approx. one month my front passenger-side break began to squeak. I took my car back and told them my issue. The next morning I took my car in and they replaced the pads on both sides at no charge. The squeak has gone quiet and I was pleased with the outcome. I will continue to have my car serviced here. read more
