So the trusty steed needed some new wiper blades after all the rain we've been getting it was high time to reclaim crystal clear vision and get rid of that annoying squeak every time. Autobarn Altona was first choice as its easily accessible from the Westgate freeway and via Millers Road. These guys must pride themselves with their service. I mean, I've never had anyone come out to the car with me to have a look at the wiper blades and unhook them for me so he could bring them inside and match it to the best one I could afford. This shop is a haven for motor nuts, I was seriously considering getting more things like brake pads etc but stopped short knowing I lack the skills nor tools to carry out such a job. But these guys are ever ready to give you a hand and will answer all your questions. They all appeared friendly and genuinely eager to help customers, and there were a few when I was there. They've got good pricing and can order in items for you from the warehouse or other stores if they are out of it. Did I mention after he replaced the wiper blades with the new ones he went back out and fitted them onto the car? All the while I was checking the availability of an air filter. I recently purchased a Line level converter for my holden car sound system from the Autobarn Altona North store in Vic. When the car sound installers went to install they found that the converter was faulty or not compatible with my car, so they replaced it with one of their own brands. I took the Line level converter back to Autobarn for a full refund which they refused!!?? I will never be dealing with this incompetent company again. The manager Bill has told me to take it to consumer affairs, which i think i will do.. for a price of $120 is it worth my time?? Why should i let these big companies get away with out giving refunds on their faulty products. read more
