As you know shopping for a vehicle is a big deal, I've had the same car for 11 years, since then…read morehave gotten married and had a child. Safety was number one. We decided to finally upgrade. We went to Shottenkirk in West Burlington, Iowa to purchase a new vehicle. After a few months of scoping out vehicles. We/I fell in love with a 2016 Lincoln MKX, it had all the safety features, on top of comfort and luxury we were looking for. We found out that it needed a new transmission, at first I was hesitant, but they assured us once we got a new one it would work perfectly fine. Well, we got a new (remanufactured) since ford don't make new transmissions for this model anymore, within a few days of getting it back, it started causing us issues, so we brought it back, they looked into it and sent it back to us as "fixed", well within a week it acted up again. Every time the vehicle was switched into gear it felt as if we were hitting a tree. Thank goodness we purchased the "extended warranty" as it was a used vehicle. At this point I purchased the vehicle about 3 weeks prior too and had only taken possession for approximately a week total, back to the shop it went, they found out there were internal issues with the "new" transmission, they tried fixing it and the same issue kept occurring. With the warranty they did provide us a vehicle to use while the car was being looked at. 3 months go by, and still no vehicle. Obviously I became very frustrated, I was making monthly payments and still had not taken possession of my new vehicle. Ford refused to provide a new transmission, but the Shottenkirk team General manager Troy and our salesman Matt worked hard to make this right with us. They were able to get us another transmission using my warranty, took about 4 months total, but they got the job done. Finally I got my car back, of course driving on pins and needles just waiting for it to act up again. Had it for a week and a half and.. boom it happened again. I contacted the General manager, Troy immediately. He said we are going to make this right and trade you out with something else. By the time my lunch break came around I had a vehicle I was possibly interested in waiting in the parking lot for me to test drive. We decided to move forward and get the vehicle. Not only did Shottenkirk lose money on the deal, they truly just wanted the customers satisfaction and for us to be happy. They worked with our original term plan and made everything darn near the same, provided a newer vehicle with less miles, no transmission issues , and made Darn sure it was a vehicle that we would drive off the lot and be happy with. They were constantly professional, compassionate of our situation, and truly wanted the best for us. We couldn't feel more grateful for the wonderful team out at Shottenkirk. Yes it took patience, and a few moments of feeling very frustrated. But we knew it was no fault of their own, it was unfortunately a recall on the vehicle that just simply couldn't be corrected. I still have a Lincoln, had to part with some of the features I enjoyed with the original purchase, but it's going to be a safe vehicle for my son and family. I would highly recommend working with this great team of employees and management the next time your in the market for a new vehicle, and will only do my future purchases through them. Thank you Troy and Matt for all of your hard work, it definitely did not go unnoticed. We are very appreciative for you taking the time to make things right with this crazy unlucky time. But in the end, it all worked out!

They are spraying undercoating on older truck to cover up rust underneath so it doesn't look so bad! I would just make trip to other dealerships that want to make a deal with return customers.

Funny story, the fuel pump quit on my red ford ranger. Shottenkirk burlington was the place I had…read moreto get it towed to for the replacement according to my Insurance company. I went along with that and just bit the bullet when i heard how much it would cost. I have done this myself before and it is not fun. Anyway, i went to pick it up today, now two weeks later. Wife and Daughter had to be involved in a 3 car meeting so they could get to Burlington, trade the explorer i was driving and also get the camry back home. At that point, i got into my truck and headed back to work as it was around 330, and I usually work until 5 or so. I noticed the fuel was low, so i stopped at caseys in Middletown. I put the nozzle in and heard a gusher of fuel under the truck. Turns out, they did not reconnect the fuel hoses to the fill hole and left them hanging off to the side. About 1/2 gallon of fuel went on the ground before I knew what was going on. I still needed fuel so i crawled under the truck in the puddle of gas and shoved the hoses back where they are supposed to be. Then i went into Caseys middletown to see what needed to be done about the spill. They said it was not too bad and put some oil dry down. So off to Shottenkirk I went. The customer service area is set up kind of like a university auditorium but instead of students there are customers, and the area where there would be some professors is where you talk to the people fixing your cars. I went in and was trying not to be 'that guy' but when i get angry and excited I tend to start TALKING REALLY LOUD and my voice carries pretty far. So i tried to explain this whole thing to the woman who I think might have peed her pants and she got a tech to come over and see what my issue was. By the time he got to me I took a chair in the auditorium area and everyone was either looking at me or wondering what kind of dumpster fire Shottenkirk was making of THEIR vehicles. The tech came back later and said he got everything hooked back up and gave me my keys. I went over to the woman that might have peed and asked who i needed to talk to to get some kind of a refund for this problem. She called Mike in on the intercom and I went back to my chair which i tried to make sure had as much unleaded 87 octane transferred to it. Mike came over and i went through the whole thing with him again in front of my audience and he said maybe we should go back to my office. I said maybe we should. The tech came back in and I said I understand the mistake , but, you and I both know what this should cost, and its about one fourth of what I am being charged. That is why I am not happy, and my beef is not really with you. So I think he was ok and was dismissed but then I was back to Mike to see what he was going to do. He gave me a 100% refund on labor. That left me paying for a 500$ or so pump that I could have got at AutoZone for $225. In the end its probably a good deal but I am assuming the rest of the job was done right. Jury is still out on that.

The attendant/cashier at this store was so rude to us that we had to walk out. First, he told my fiancé that all cars have different sized rotors in the front and the back. This is not true- but he rudely asserted us of this. My sister kindly asked "how is your day going?" to give him a chance to explain if it was bad. He sarcastically responded "it's great". My sister, fiancé, and I all looked at each other. Then he showed us the break pad and said "see- this is the size for the front" in a snarky tone. We told him that we needed rear breaks and he let out a sigh and slammed the box on the counter. We decided it was time to leave so we went to Advance Auto instead and had a very pleasant experience there. It's hard to explain how rude he was, but I would not suggest going there if you like good customer service--- or any customer service.
