Auzou is a pretty little shop in Central Rouen. I stopped to pick up some treats and presents to bring home, and found the staff friendly and helpful. The chocolates I bought were very good - recommend those! The macarons on the other hand really had no flavor at all. read more

O M freakin' G!!! I still can't stop thinking about how good the macarons here were. I got a box with four of the large ones (which were about the size of a hockey puck but not as thick) all to myself. The four flavors I got were pistachio, raspberry, dark chocolate ganache, and my favorite one, the salted butter caramel. The salted butter caramel was the first one I bit into and damn...I'm not sure but I think I saw god. The texture of the cookie was light but very flavorful and the butter caramel filling had the perfect consistency, not too gooey but just thick enough. The balance between cookie and filling was perfect as well. The other macarons were very good, too but the salted caramel was just out of this world. We got a bunch of other things as well, like praline almonds dusted with dark cocoa powder and various filled chocolate morsels. All were incredibly good. They have so much treats to choose from, I wish I could spend a month in Rouen and eat a few things from here every day 'til I went through all they have to offer. read more

I went to Rouen just to check out this place!!! Worth it. Best macorones I've had ever!!! The guy in the shop opened late so we almost missed him! He didn't open his shop until after 2pm.... I think he had a rough night. I like how he boxes them up and puts a ribbon on them. read more

They have an amazing collections of sweet delicacies and it would be a sin not to try them, especially the macarons (which they are famous for) or the Johan of Arc's tear drops, which make the people remember that Rouen is where she was burnt. A must for all chocolate lovers. What not to buy is the big decision here. The chocolate is smooth and rich with so many different choices to be made.
