Booked an appointment online, which was super easy (love that feature). I was a little worried when I didn't get a call or text to confirm it was received but when I showed up there was no problem. The salon was clean and relaxing, the receptionist who greeted me was pleasant. I only wish there were actual chairs to sit in while you waited instead of at a table with merchandise. Shawnee (sp?) cut my hair and was personable. She listened to what I wanted vs. needed and was helpful. Her touch was so gentle she almost put me to sleep during the scalp massage! I would definitely recommend this salon for anyone needing to relax and be pampered for a day (or even just 30 minutes). read more

The massage and scrub was okay didn't really feel like it made a difference, but still fine. My masseuse left me in the room after she was done with the massage and didn't tell me to get dressed. She just left me in there and said there were other warm towels to use, which I couldn't find. After awhile she came in and asked if I needed anything and said she would meet me outside. I have come here for a haircut, massage, manicure, and today I've added waxing to the list! It was super quick and easy. I have pretty sensitive skin and they totally catered to that! And I was given some tips and tricks for the redness and puffiness post-wax. They also offer a wide selection of products that fits every beauty profile I could think of. I like how knowledgeable the staff was about the products and what goes well together. I definitely recommend! I usually always go to Avalon when I need my brows waxed. I don't generally request the same person but after today I'll probably always try to get Cecilia. She also gave me a great shellac manicure (my first ever manicure). My only complaint about Avalon is that the mani/pedi room is too dark for me, and I have a hard time seeing in there. I moved here 3 years ago, took me a while to find a hairdresser/salon that I liked. I went to Valerie for these years. She ended up leaving the salon and poof disappeared. I went in regularly for a nice price I will admit. Never cancelled an appointment, although they did on me. So I tried someone else, she was fine. However, yesterday I walked in and made an appointment for today. No mention of needing to cancel it within 24 hours and "hello" there wasn't even 24 hours before the appointment. Had a family emergency today and called to cancel. Kelly proceeded to tell me how I needed to cancel 24 hours in advance, bla bla bla bla... obviously disturbed. Never asked me why I was cancelling prior to getting the "speech". I listened politely. Then was told it would be allowed THIS time. Seriously, I will take my business elsewhere. I can spent my money elsewhere quite easily. read more

Like the atmosphere but when I asked about cuticle and callous removal the girl told me the boss doesn't allow it unless it's sticking out? Something about Oregon law is what she said. I looked and can find No law. She did an ok job on my toes and when I got home I clipped my own cuticles.. my hands were on the other hand not so great. No cuticle clipping and no massage at all... I paid $80 for my cuticles and heels to look like crap. The paint in my hands isnt even and see through. Sadly I am not impressed. Owner kept her promise and redid my nails and then today received a nice Not from the other owner..... I will be back but I hate they dont clip cuticles cause mine are always bad... guess I will do it myself. But THANK YOU for checking in!! read more

But The amount of money for a manicure and pedicure for the quality of work just didn't match for me I was told it was ok to put my shoes on because it was gel and when I got home they were already messed up. The massage was not very long no cutting of cuticles or callus removal. Side of my fingernails don't have gel on them. I won't be coming back.. way over priced read more

I had scheduled a pedicure about a month in advanced. When the appointment date came, I was early by about 20 minutes and didn't mind waiting until my appointment time of 3:30 p.m. Well, 3:30 came and went. I waiting another 10 minutes and then walked out. Upon walking out, I was asked if I would like to reschedule at which time I said no. No one had stated that the tech was running behind, and that I would have have to wait. Had I known that, I could have done some shopping and then come back. The customer service was lacking and I can safely say that I will not be making any more appointments with this salon. read more

Hair cut, style and makeup for a photo shoot: I arrived to a cup of tea and was given a new customer gift bag containing samples of hair products. That was a nice touch. The salon was clean. My hairdresser trimmed up my A-style, then took a blow dryer to it. The Avalon stylist followed pre-existing lines, and trimmed it up a bit for me. This was as requested. She did a good job. Makeup came next. I generally wear a little makeup, mascara, little blush, very light lipstick. But I needed foundation for the photos. I left feeling a little concerned about how the photos would turn out, as the foundation that was used seemed to enhance and deepen fine lines around my eyes and lips. I researched online to see how this is avoided and learned that a primer that seals lines and closes pores should have been applied. Would I go back to Avalon? Absolutely. But I would request the primer. read more

I'm pretty disappointed with the shellac manicure I received at Avalon. My usual manicurist is in maternity leave. I couldn't book with who she recommended for a few weeks, so I figured Avalon would do in a pinch and my nails would last a couple of weeks until my next appointment. Nope, I paid $40 for a manicure that lasted less than a week. My nails are a mess and I will steer clear of Avalon for future nail services. read more

Hair turned out so crappy. Was charged 28 dollars for less then a cm "hair cut" hair was already light and she bleached it and then charged me for it. She barely even dried my hair no styling at all. When checking out she asked me so loud if I wanted to leave a tip. Felt obligated to do so. I will never return. I'd rather go to HairMasters. read more

Just moved here from Sacramento and decided to try Avalon for a hair cut and massage. It's a wonderful place!!! Such a beautiful salon and the spa will take your breath away- it's a special relaxing area. From the moment I walk through the doors I felt so welcomed. Three members of the staff gave the most genuine, authentic greeting. The place is clean! Tarita cut my hair. She took her time and gave me a great hair cut. Love the scalp massage. I scheduled my massage with Juniper- she's a special massage therapist. Very professional, great pressure. It was easily the best massage I've had in my life! (It's sort of an annual thing-ish) She was very accepting of that fact, and didn't take more off than she absolutely needed. We found out after the fact... the ladies at this Salon work on commission, which was evident! We had two appointments back to back and felt extremely rushed through the process. The gals left us feeling they were unorganized and not prepared for basic services. The best part of the service was they used Aveda products. Smelt and worked great. read more

This place is so clean and pretty, it's such a shame that the service does not match the appearance. I got a haircut with Valerie and it was less than ideal. She seemed rushed the whole time, conversation was forced and she didn't seem like she was enjoying her work at all. I had to ask to have my bangs trimmed apparently she wasn't planning on doing it and it seemed to annoy her. Additionally, she did not use a brush to style my hair while she was blow drying it, just held the dryer to my head with no product on it and then took the cape off me and said I was done. When I got into my car I ran my hand through my hair and found that it was still wet at the crown. I went back in and asked to please have my hair dried completely (I did just pay and tip well for it), the receptionist informed me that Valerie had left for lunch and no one else could help me. A stylist should not allow a client to walk out with wet hair, and a salon should not refuse to rectify their mistake. read more

Please, do not waste your money at this "spa". Please do not consider my review as someone who is simply dissatisfied. Prior to moving to America, I worked in the beauty industry in Europe. These are my professional opinions I have attempted to receive a professional service here on more two occasions, unfortunately, both occasions were terrible experiences. The first was a hair cut and color with Desriee. Her experience is lacking. She put down other clients while cutting my hair - who does this? She hacked my hair into nonrecognition. When I tried to complain to the owner, I was ignored. I was literally brushed off with a "so sad, too bad for you" attitude from the owners son who is the "manager" (or was at the time) My friend bought me a gift certificate so I decided to give them another try. Not wishing to spend the next year growing out a very bad haircut, I decided to have a facial. I was greeted, sat and told to fill out a form. I did this, then was asked back to the treatment room. The lady (never did catch her name) who was to perform the treatment had already decided which facial I was receiving and which products she would use, without even looking at my skin. She just went at it like she was on a production line. She was very lacking in basic skin care knowledge. I tried to speak to her about the condition of my skin and which products she was using, she brushed me off and never fully answered a question - again leading me to believe that she really has no clue what she was doing and what constitutes a professional facial. read more

Loved my hour getting a shellac manicure with Tarita. Super professional and made me feel comfortable. I've never had shellac stay on my nails for this long. The atmosphere in the salon/spa was so relaxing and calming. The spa is dim with soft music playing which nearly put me to sleep! Also a great variety of colors to choose from. I recently visited the spa with my daughter. I was so disappointed with my pedicure. The gal spoke maybe 5 words to me.Never introduced herself, just pretty much "flat line" It was so uncomfortable and only did a so so pedicure, nothing spectacular. Plus she kept sniffling under her mask, making me uncomfortable that she may be sick, worried the entire time about Covid so this was as far from relaxing as it can get. My daughter sat next to me and had a great pedicure with Kristen. I had a great hair cut with Cecelia. I would have given a 5 star if it had not been for the pedicure with "T".
