I have lived at Avamere Seaside Independent Living for 4 years 4 months and have enjoyed my time here. The staff makes it easy to be here from the kitchen staff, to business office and all in between they make you feel welcome and cared about. I feel safe here which my family is happy about, and the grounds are kept up and now that spring is here some beautiful flowers are blooming also some wildlife to watch. I moved in a month ago and I couldn't be happier with my decision to choose Avamere at Seaside for my Independent Living needs. The monthly cost includes three chef prepared meals a day, weekly housekeeping, and a calendar full of daily activities. This is a wonderful alternative to living alone, doing everything for myself, experiencing loneliness and isolation, and eating meals based on how much effort I wanted to put into the prep, cooking, and clean up. Everyone here is so nice. That includes the staff and the other residents. It's like one big family. Two factors made me choose Avamere. 1) It's a smaller community. Not corporate feeling at all. Very comfortable. 2) It's proximity to the ocean. Less than half a mile walk to the beach. I'm able to do that walk most mornings before breakfast is served. How awesome is that? This is a wonderful place to live. The staff is amazing and so helpful. Lots to do as well. And the location near the beach is priceless.

I worked in the memory care part of this place. some of the staff that work in that section are way to rough with the residents. The ones in the a.m. would go in and pull the resident out of bed before they had their eyes open and thrown into a shower. Where they would get a 30 second shower, just long enough to wash their hair and that's it. The lady residents have yeast infection in places that doesn't get washed thurly with soap and water. AVAMERE needs to have a training classes on how to wake up a residents, how to give a showers and how to approach a resident that are hard to get into a shower ... The elderly pay top dollar to live there, then they should get top quilty care from the staff they hire.. read more
