As we spent more time in this church, it became clear that some of the small group leaders had no place in church leadership as they are gossipy and un-kind. After several years of attending, giving, and being involved, we decided that this church wasn't working out for us and there were too many red flags. Nobody called us to find out where we went or to do an exit "interview" of any kind or even have a conversation. It's unfortunate because I think if the church wants to do better and serve it's flock, the reasons that people are leaving could be very helpful.

She is a 5th-grade student, Co-Captain of the GEMS cheer team, and was preparing to join the dance program. Over several months, our child experienced multiple safety and medical incidents on campus. These included being denied timely restroom access, an injury on the playground without staff intervention or parent notification, and a hand injury during PE where medical assistance was not provided when requested. Due to the school's no-phone policy, we were not informed of these incidents until after school. When we raised concerns, administration acknowledged staffing and supervision challenges and stated an investigation would occur. As of now, we have not received follow-up or resolution. Student safety, communication, and supervision are essential. Based on our experience, these areas require significant improvement.

Drug use in our community is significantly up as evidenced by the number of homeless people in the community. When you hear or see these problems I think you should call the police. If they do not satisfy your concern then you should be community active and attend a city council meeting to air your concerns. This problem is not isolated to this Church. I can personally tell you it is happening at other Church properties as well. It is a community issue not a Church issue.

You can tell the priests care about your soul and the good of you and your family. Mass is amazing and you can tell most of the people who attend regularly believe in the church. The youth group is fun and engaging for the teens and the young adults have grown into a community of friends who care about you and will love you no matter what but lead you to Christ. I had my two kids go through the whole system from Kinder to 12th grade, lifers. I can now stand…read moreback and give an assessment. This is a great Christ centered school. However, they have terrible and archaic teaching modalities. I started to notice as my kids entered the third grade. Middle school was insane with tests and homework. Three or four teachers gave tests on the same day! It took parents to complain to change this. When the admin became a principal and it was their kid there, it changed for sure. Highschool is ran so poorly. One of my kids had to take 2 outside classes because teachers taught so poorly and they were not cheap. Many kids are so smart, they resort to teaching themselves. And then there is the nepotism. Oh the nepotism. Of course the staff children get all the privileges and their friends. All the rules apply to others but not the staff kids or their friends. The counselor, what counselor??!! When one of my kids went there, the counselor came in once a week. She was rude and told my kid "if you can't keep up, then maybe this isn't the place for you." This conversation ended with me paying for my kid to take a history outside of Woodcrest, in which my kid earned an A. Both of my kids graduated from here, but not sure I would choose this route again.
