I never passed through the OB ED department and I never sat on a gurney in the OB area. I was never seen by their OB ED doctor. When I called to complain I was told that when the triage nurse checked my dilation upon arrival and found that I was fully dilated that that brief assessment by a nurse qualified as ED service! As soon as I arrived I was rushed into a delivery room. The bed was unfolded and the baby was on his way. The on-call OB doc rushed in the room right before the baby was delivered. I gave birth vaginally and without complications in less than 15 minutes after arrival the hospital. Their creative billing team finds ways to sneak in extra charges like $1,306.14 dollars for sitting in the recovery room--the same room delivered in--until the closet sized room near the newborn nursery became available. Choose a different hospital & different health care group. Health First is really MONEY FIRST!

Waited a day to see a wound nurse( my wound was draining). Nurses assistants get mad when asked for help when and if they show up to the room. No clue how a back brace works. Drs are not onsite everyday. FOOD: Apple juice was mixed with water maybe they wanted to save money for who knows what, no menu to select your food, 2 slices of bread with 1 slice of turkey ham "sandwich" for dinner, no ensure only an unknown at least for me nutritional drink. An employee suggested me to ask for more than one ginger ale so I can save them for the night. They had no ginger ale at night because the kitchen was closed. All kitchens close at night but they should have a fridge available. BATHROOM: my main concern. The toilet was not a high handicap toilet, it was a standard toilet. No grab bars and there was a bathtub with old vomit or maybe poop, it was a brown circle around the drain. No shower chair or equipment to take a shower. Spent 3 days there before being able to leave and never took a shower, I had to use towels myself to at least clean my upper body. HOSPITAL BED: Old and with a malfunction that ended up braking. The bed was changed after someone tried to "fix" it. The other bed was not any better. DON'T stay in this place, it should be closed. I'm amazed how the government let this place open.

The PT for him was unbelievable. one of the CNA's went on vacation and he couldn't believe how much better he was doing. He shared this with dad and this encouraged my dad. Food isn't so great but that is least of your worries when you are there. people make the difference - dad had people who care about helping people. one CNA sang to one of her patients. They interact as much as they can but their duties are time consuming and they are encouraging for patient to do themselves which helps them get better. we had a good experience and appreciate our staff!

I also understand the cornerstone of recovery is helping others without expecting anything in return. In closing, I caution anyone considering help from this organization, as they are preying off the weak for a paycheck.
