My 2 most favorite things about this park is seeing so many dogs. As a dog lover (and also of one who recently just lost her little girl dog 2 months ago), it was so nice to see so many dogs because they always bring me so much joy when I see them. Most of the locals walking their dogs walked their pups off leash. And for the most part, their dogs were all very well behaved and always stayed close to their owners. But there were also some people who also walked their dogs on leash. The other thing that I loved the most about this park was that there are so many trees that really keep this park very nice and cool because of all the shade throughout this large park. It really does encourage people to come out and walk and do some exercise, which I really love. At this park were a few different playground areas and also a very large pond with ducks. There are also vendors selling items, food, etc throughout the park. There is also a restroom if you need to use it, which cost $5 MXN or $0.29 USD (it is common to pay to use the toilet in Mexico but be aware that it is common for there to be no toilet paper, sometimes no toilet seats.... yes the actual seat, and hand soap. But usually restaurants, grocery stores and museums do not charge to use their toilet). This park is surrounded with a lot of restaurants, coffee shops and apartment buildings. For the most part, it is a pretty kid friendly and dog friendly park that felt safe to visit the days and nights we came by to walk. If I lived here, I would definitely be a regular.

Bosque de Chapultepec is huge--there's so much to do and see that it can feel a little…read moreoverwhelming, but in a good way. I didn't get to explore as much or stay as long as I wanted, but everything I did see was beautiful and really enjoyable. You can rent pedal boats and ride around the lake, or just walk around and take it all in. There's also a library overlooking the pond area that's really nice to stop by. Overall, it's a great place to spend the day, and I'd definitely go back to explore more.

Bosque de Chapultepec spans 2,000 acres and is one of the largest parks in Mexico and even the…read moreworld. This place is a mix of historical landmarks, parks, and museums all in one area. This area contains the Chapultepec Castle which used to be the imperial palace and presidential residence. It also houses the Museo Nacional de Antropologia which is a historical museum of the country. It also contains the Chapultepec Zoo which is a popular and free kids attraction. We first walked through one area where we saw souvenir stalls selling trinkets like magnets and monkey hats. We then saw the lake and bridge. Then we walked to the castle base. Then we walked over to the museum to enter. Throughout the area you'll see street food and street stalls, performers, and walking paths. There's also a lake where you can rent paddle boats. If nothing else there are lots of trees so you can relax in the shade. If you're coming to Mexico City this will most likely be one of the stops you visit, and depending on what you like you could spend all day here.

There were many climbing structures including a dragon. There are smaller kids' structures as well as ones for bigger kids. The bad: The bathroom was closed for cleaning when I tried to use it. The dirt gets the toddler's shoes and clothes dusty and messy. The interesting: I saw lots of Girl Scouts there. I also saw a rat in the bush. They had food carts and vendors that sold balloons and kids toys too.

They also had stone animal statues around. The park is walking distance to restaurants and markets as well. It's colorful and peaceful. There were lots of slides. The floor is rubber so it's less messy than the dirt playgrounds. The bad: It would be nice if the playground had more shade. The water sculpture area didn't have water. The interesting: They were repainting (green color) fixtures and benches when I came so everything smelled of paint.

Its pulchritude is pretty pulchritudinous!…read more This is a park along a sleepy neighborhood street, with a slow roundabout around this structure in the middle of a fountain. The domed small structure is fitted with cool looking tile work, and a bit of home-spun graffiti. Park benches surround this fountain, so there's plenty of places to perch, put your pack down, and purview the place. There's large trees that give plenty of shade. It makes for a relaxing place to sit and enjoy the neighborhood. When I was there, there were people making out, having lunch, and just lounging. Plaza Popocatépetl is named after Mount Popocatépetl, the active volcano just outside of town. It's a tongue twister to say it! Popocatépetl occasionally erupts, putting people on edge, but not causing any real damage usually. I don't know what's up with the little building that houses "gas" and "diesel" on one end of the plaza. I assume that doesn't have to do with the functions of the fountain.

They have a small greenhouse and a large area under the fruit trees where you can sit on a blanket (people were picnicking there), as well as benches under the thicker trees in the shade on the other side of the garden. The entrance I came in through was on the bosque castle side, and I went out the exit on the other side where the museum of modern art is. I was able to walk down that way easily to get to Polanco. I was a solo traveler and I love gardens so I had a very lovely time walking through and looking at the plants here.

They have many restaurants here, for breakfast and lunch spots as well as dessert spots! Parking is available both on streets going in/out of the immediate park vicinity and there is paid underground parking where we park. This is a good spot for exercise; I've come running here 3 separate times, there are also bike paths, a kids jungle gym and a skate park! Honestly the park feels very safe and has beautiful views of the buildings nearby.

Loved the size, urban views, cleanliness, and features which I'll explain later. It is located in the outer edges of southwest CDMX, so could be a little far depending on where you're located. La Mexicana is clean and modern, with epic views of the tall and often shiny sprawling urban skyscrapers of office building and condos that CDMX has to offer. It's big, but not uncomfortably big - you could easily walk around most of the park and yet not feel cramped. Like many areas of CDMX, it's paid parking - we found a dirt lot that was 25 pesos/hr (seemed to be prorated). We didn't bother driving around to see if there was free parking nearby. FYI - there are some restrooms near the Petco (bring some change as it costs as well). I didn't see much litter and folks seemed great about picking up their dog poop. Came here on a weekend (during COVID) and the park had a comfortable amount of people - not overly crowded or eerily quiet. The walking trails are nicely paved - this is a relief for someone whose ankles have grown fatigued walking the uneven sidewalks of CDMX. The cool features of this park that I don't normally see in parks is that they have a neat strip of restaurants inside as well as a Petco. Forgot to bring Buddy's tennis ball or need to pick up some treats for Daisy? You're in luck. Being able to grab some grub inside the park is a huge perk - no need to do a separate run for food to picnic at the park when it's already there. Hungry while working out? Just hop on over to the food area. While I didn't venture in as I wasn't hungry, these seemed to be legit restaurants. Saw Pielogy (pizza), a poke joint, and El Moro (churros) to name a few. Not your typical rickety park stand with questionable hot dogs and stale fries. Since eating-in isn't an option (COVID), I saw quite a few people chilling on the grass and grubbing. Note that the grass is relatively flat and dry during this time of year...in case your butt prefers padding. I didn't see a lot of benches or tables (if any tables at all), so bring a blanket/chairs if ya like. There are also these steel cube framed structures in some areas of the park. While the tops seem to be slitted so not completely solid, it may provide some shade if you're looking to sit on the grass. There are also hooks attached to the frames in case you want to hang a hammock or tie Fido down. I'd love to come back and do an evening walk and see the urban sprawl lit up like an electric grid. Overall, it's a terrific park if you're looking for a place to walk, job, bring Fido, bike, picnic, or just to hang out.

The park its pretty small and really crowded but not necessarily of people (i mean obviously yes) but there is always something new around it. Park was named after a famous writer, which i believed lived around the area, so lately it has been used to expose art in any way possible, in any given day you will find expositions and in another day you will find another one, so its constantly changing, but thats the thing.. the park its too small for all this events and not just the park, but all the surroundings, as you will find tons of small restaurants of any kind, coffee shops and even a private university campus, all in this little place, but even YET with all this .. you can still manage to sit at a given time of the day and reminisce about anything you wish or just chat, eat some ice cream and look around for art. And all that is what 3 stars are worth. But then why a 3 star?? well 1 star is lost because its the smallest park and the only one that its taken care of in the whole delegacion ( district )!! ok besides la alameda but that you know its like the main one (and it was a dump of lots of bad things not to long ago) the district prefers to take all the green stuff and just put concrete and just a few bushes and thats for them a renovation, but there is ALOT of neighborhood parks that need attention !!!so this one.. obviously its on a nice area... it hasnt gone trhu that modification. But well there is another one just a few streets down parque RIo de janeiro, that hasnt got that luck lately, but still nice. And the other lost star is well... it can really look crowded at times, with too many art pieces, dogs all aroud goin into the fountains (which is one of the few that have a fountain working) and so once again been there so many other BIGGER parks around .. this one its the one that only gets attention. If ANYHTING i would give this place a 3 1/2 stars.
