My 1998 Jeep needs the old coolant--the "green stuff"--because the metals used in the engine construction do not interact well with the new, universal coolants. I totally forgot to mention this to Denny when I dropped off the Jeep, but when I called him mid-repair to mention it, he responded, "Yep. We've run into that before, and we were aware of it. We're using the older formula coolant for this engine." He didn't try to upsell me a number of unnecessary services, and he was happy to talk to me about the two things his mechanic had noticed without pushing me to order additional work. I hope my car doesn't ever break again, but I know it probably will, and Denny's picked up another loyal customer.

Yesterday around 4pm, I walked out to my car after working a long shift at the hospital to find my…read moretire was flat. I called Belle Tire and they said they could patch it if I got there ASAP but they close at 6 and they're pretty busy. As luck would have it, taking off my tire and putting on the spare was not as easy of a task as expected and it took almost an hour to accomplish. I rushed to Belle Tire (as fast as a donut could allow) and walked in at 5:40. There were multiple cars in the bays and several customers were waiting. I approached a man I later found out to be Nick Huff, and asked if there was any way he could squeeze me in. At first, he said they couldn't do it, they didn't have time. He asked if I could leave the tire and he would patch it in the morning and I could come pick it up. I understood. But I mentioned that I live 45 minutes away, and it would take much longer on a donut. I said I needed to make a call before agreeing to leave it. But he stopped me and said, "Wait. Let's just get it. I'll do it." He followed me to my car and got the tire. He took out the screw, patched it, aired it up and put it back on my car before re-mounting the spare underneath for me. When I tell you, I almost cried. Twenty minutes later, I was walking out the door to start my 45 min drive back home. No charge.
