Big yawn

Highly recommend visiting this farm for goat yoga! The yoga portion is very brief to provide ample time for goat cuddles. I was surprised at how much the goats loved to receive hugs and pets. Only one goat (Basil) walked around to provide kisses and nibbles to willing participants. The rest quickly chose a person and stayed with them for the class. Rosemary and Hope chose to stay with me. They found a comfortable spot on my mat and took a nap. They had no problem with me doing yoga stretches beside and over them. The class was outside under a tent. Even in December, the weather was beautiful. Avery Family Farm communicated important details via email before the event. We knew to bring a mat, towels, and any leftover food we did not want. We could not feed the animals directly, but gave it to the owner to provide at a later time. The towels are to cover your mat. In part to provide another layer of comfort. Mainly in case of messes. The goats cannot control their bowel movements. Thankfully, none of them made a mess in my area. The size of the class was appropriate. I believe there were about 12 participants in the class and 23 goats, 2 dogs, and 2 sheep. I loved how the owner shared the names for all the animals. She did so in the middle of the class once many of the animals had settled down with their chosen participant. The animals listened very well. They got up when she called to come into the tent once we were ready. Then at the end of the class all she had to do was call them and they got up and left the tent. Overall, lovely, unique, and relaxing experience. I certainly recommend this farm to others!

I've been going here for several years. The goats are amazing cuddlers. Class is usually more goat than yoga, but the instructors are okay with that. I always leave with a big smile on my face. Classes are under a large tent so you have plenty of shade from the sun or cover if it is raining. Along with classes & retreats they offer a small selection of soaps (made from their goats' milk) and duck eggs. Parking can be tight, so be sure to arrive early to get a good spot. Be prepared, the farm is very natural and animal focused so not a lot of paved areas, there are bugs and they have port-o-johns. Everything is well cared for and the farm is lovely, but probably a bit more rustic than some folks are used to.

Beautiful relaxing afternoon with goats! Nice to just snuggle and not feel like a vessel for food.

I was just beginning my third trimester when I attended a prenatal class, and it was really challenging for me. Some of the poses we were in were pretty much impossible for me because of how swollen my legs were or how heavy my stomach felt. I had to do a lot of modifications. The instructor did come over a few times and assisted with providing alternative poses/stretches, but I felt pretty discouraged since I seemed to be the only one in the room unable to do a lot. I do want to note that I was one of the furthest along in this class, and many of the others were still in various stages of their first and second trimesters. One thing I did find different about this yoga class was that there was no background music, and it was hard for me to drown out the other class going on in the room next door and the traffic on the street outside. Yoga classes I have taken at other places had some very light, soothing background music. I had purchased the deal for new student special for unlimited classes for 21 days, but unfortunately did not return because it just seemed to be too much for my body. I think this may have been different if I was a person that regularly attended yoga classes...

They have plenty of supplies if you don't know what to bring and offer a variety of classes depending on your level. I have left every class feeling relaxed, challenged, and supported. I'm also grateful that they offer an intro pass to let you try before committing to a membership. Would recommend to anybody looking for a yoga studio to call home!

I've been taking Paul Sobin's Continuing Basics series for about 6 months, and this review is…read morepurely about this series. I'm very new to yoga. There are free classes at my school, but I feel like you need a certain level of understanding of the poses before going to those classes. I'm the kind of person that would feel VERY uncomfortable mimicking the poses in class without learning the ABCs first, just for the sake of feeling sore afterwards. I'm also uncomfortable when the teachers talk way too much about their spiritual journey. I respect other people's spirituality, but when it's hovering over the ENTIRE CLASS, it can be very distracting. Paul Sobin solves both of my problem. In the class we would move from pose to pose, but he'd always mention the mistakes easily made. So when I'm doing the pose, even when he's not nearby to correct me, I could still keep in mind what to avoid. He offers a sweet mix of the physical and spiritual practice. For example when we start the slow breathing at the beginning of class, he'd mention how life is always busy and stressful, and it's good to take just a couple minutes to breathe slow and deep to give yourself a bit peace of mind. I really appreciate this. The series are pretty flexible - if you can't make it to the class you signed up for, you can do a make-up with any other series class Paul/ Sommer teach. Whatever leftover classes you haven't used in this series can be carried over to the next one. Students get a discount, which comes to $10 per class. This is quite an investment compared to the free gym, but I'd be happy to skip a weekend drink for this. People seem very nice, chill, and friendly as well. They also offer a week of classes free before the start of the series. The only con I can think of so far: The class can be crowded, to the point that the distance between you and the next mat is half a mat's width. Come 10 mins early to secure a good spot.

I had my first time session with Chris this past Tuesday and was impressed with his knowledge,…read moreprofessionalism, technique and added value. I arrived to the appointment 10 minutes early and Chris was there with an intake form waiting for me and a cup of water. I filled out the form and Chris looked it over and asked me pertinent questions relating to my health and body history. We chatted about my goals for receiving bodywork. I'm an avid cyclist, runner and soccer player, which Chris was able to relate to and he was very familiar with the areas that I requested the session focus on. It was a cold, rainy day, so the heated massage table and heated packs he placed on my body were a welcomed added bonus. Chris let me know that he tends to be quiet when he works, but feel feel free to ask questions anytime. The massage was transcending. Chris truly has a passion and level of care that I haven't experienced with other practitioners. I lost track of all time and left the Vigor + Vim ready to relax the day away. Chris recommended that I take 12 hours away from exercise and to drink lots of fluids. He even showed me a couple new stretches afterward in the foyer that would help work some of my problem areas. I'm definitely looking forward to my next session and wholeheartedly recommend Chris Grohs and Vigor + Vim. His studio is in a great historic house converted into multiple offices and professional practices. Easy to find. Central location downtown and plenty of parking.

He really knows how all of your muscles work together and how to deal with any issue you are having from multiple angles. As a cyclist and runner, his massages have been a lifesaver! It's not just about the massage - he teaches you how to take care of yourself, too. I 100% recommend Vigor + Vim!
