Unfortunately, as usually happens, I only now - when it is too late - realise what a huge dissatisfaction rate this company has with its customers, as can be easily seen by doing a search with their name. Our car had been pre-paid in full over the Internet, yet because we arrived a few hours later than the time I indicated in the booking, they said they cancelled our booking and have no car for us. All of that was said in a very rude and completely unapologetic way, and we were left both without a car for our holiday and with no refund whatsoever. No-one from Locauto had called to warn us that if we don't show up in the next X hours or so we'd lose the car, and a subsequent careful inspection of the Contract revealed that there was no mention of how long the "tolerance interval" around the indicated pick-up time ("no-show") is. It therefore seems reasonable to assume that if you showed up on that day later than time specified, it would only be your loss because you will have the car for less time. Since I had already paid for it, the car should have been put aside for us in the parking lot, rather than being rented again to someone else, as it has been! Had the people behind the desk been at least a bit friendly and understanding at the huge inconvenience they had caused us, I would have probably just left it there. In the meantime, however, I have sought legal advice and I will be going after them for every penny they took from us, including compensation for our ruined holiday plans.

So I did not rent from them due to this. I went through Enterprise to be safe and Lo and Behold they sent me to pick up my car from Locauto Rent in Rome and I got charged an extra $300 in damages. There is no way to dispute this and Enterpise would not help out at all. Nobody would show me this "damage" they said that occurred and we took pics before and after of the car. There was no damage whatsoever and there was no way to get my money back since they had my card already charged. DO NOT rent from either of these places! Be warned!!

I asked the office at…read moreBergamo/Orio al Serio airport if I could return with a receipt for the 19 EURO that the 10 liter container of AdBlue cost, and they replied (via email) "Okay sir, go in the airport with the receipt." The Bergamo office staff refused to accept the receipt, and so does their customer (dis)service, now claiming that they want an invoice addressed to Sicily by car (an original paper invoice with all the information required for tax purposes). They provided me with a…read morecar that was totally different class to what I've ordered + they were not interested in checking the car's condition together with me either at the pick-up or return locations. The car had damage that I photographed when I picked it up and showed the pictures at the customer service points at the return. A gentleman at the return point wasn't interested in going out of the airport to check the car, he checked the pictures I took and said: "These are small damages that's why they were not in marked in the rental paperwork initially." They returned me a full deposit but after 2 weeks I received a letter asking me to cover 700 euros of a damage penalty fee!!! I refused to pay and the case is now with my solicitor. Luckily I've got pictures that clearly show the damage at the moment I picked up the car. Hopefully, they will treat it as a valid proof and say sorry for their radiculous customer service. As mentioned at the beginning, DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY! AVOID AT ALL COST otherwise, they will try to rip you off.
