This agency voided my car reservation, made through Costco Travel, which had been made four months previously. It was voided 48 hours by Avis before a month-long trip. The rental was for a mini-van and at that late hour no mini-vans were available for rent anywhere for the dates I required. We had to drive our personal vehicle. I complained in writing and heard nothing in five weeks. I complained in writing again and was offered one day free rental on a future reservation. I declined - such a cancellation is a breach of trust which remains broken. I have recorded a complaint with Costco Travel and asked them to sanction or terminate their relationship with Avis. I arrived saturday at 1pm and they closed at noon. My vehicle needed warranty service and a part of the service was a rental car. My dealership set everything up and had the authorization for the rental car, I dropped off my SUV, and my dealer dropped me off at Avis of Murfreesboro. I completed the paperwork and they needed an imprint of my credit card for incidentals like tolls and if I did not return the rental full. However the clerk reiterated me my dealership was paying for the rental. Two days later I drop the rental car off at my dealership and pick up my SUV, the dealership was to complete and close out the rental transaction. A week later I noticed a charge for the rental car, went to the Avis store and asked what was going on. I was told because they didn't have the PO from Ford when they checked in the car they decided to charge my credit card. I was then informed they would reach out to Ford again, but until they received payment from Ford I would not receive a refund. I am also disputing the charge but in the end this Avis store is lazy, inept, and deceitful. I have had numerous rental cars due to my vehicle being serviced, but this is the first time a rental company charged my credit card without authorization. read more

Very kind staff helped secure us a vehicle last minute and then proceeded to make sure we were comfortable in the car before driving it out of state. It had bells and whistles we weren't used to and they took the time, patient and not condescending, to help us navigate the interior. read more

I was skeptical about using this car rental service due to all the horrible reviews. However my service was great and easy. Simple pick up and simple return. The only issue was the return deposit is a little confusing. The only reason I did not give five stars is because of the headache of not fully understanding how the financial transactions go with my debit card including returning my deposit. Rude staff. Set up a rental due to car issues and picked a body plan of a compact car body plan. When I got there in the morning the woman working raised her voice and told me my reserved vehicle was electric and that I chose that and shut me down. As a single young woman who has never used an electric car before I don't like the prospect of sitting in a car at a station for 30 mins to fill up the car. Told my dad about it later who said he always gets to upgrade his car and changes it whenever he comes in, and my reserve appointment information did not specify electric or non-electric. I reserved a truck 4 days ago and arrived on time, I sat for an hour before they informed me that they did not have a truck. No sincere apology, no "how do we make this better?" As Seinfeld said, they know how to take a reservation but they don't know how to keep a reservation and keeping a reservation is the most important part. This place has been so accommodating! Seems like they are always under staffed with a full lobby, every time in there. Yet, they are so swift and quick to get everyone in and out. First, I rented this car through booking.com who I do all of my reservations with (hotels, rental cars, and flights) and have never had an issue with them. When I arrived to pick up my car the people at the desk were very kind but informed me that they did not have the vehicle I had requested (a large SUV) and had already paid for. I asked why and they explained that their fleet manager was not bringing them any new vehicles due to covid and that they were severely over booked. I asked them if they had anything on the lot similar and they told me all they had available was a sedan or a minivan. I told them that if I wanted a sedan I would have just driven my own so I would take the minivan because I needed cargo space (hence why I was renting a vehicle)  I got the minivan and began my trip. Shortly into my trip I realized that one of the directionals didn't work in the vehicle which made me worry I would get pulled over. Also, the blower on the air conditioner made an ear piercing whine when turned on above the first notch. As if this wasn't enough the vehicle would not let me connect my phone for hands free calling either via Bluetooth or wire which made the trip very long and tedious.  I was prepared to let all of this go because I understand that this wasn't the fault of the store and sometimes you get a dud vehicle, but when I returned the vehicle I was charged a $24 fuel fee for the tank being 2 gallons less then when I picked it up.  This is absolutely ridiculous because I had literally just stopped to fill the tank around the corner (less than 1 mile) before returning the vehicle as I always do. I pumped the gas until the pump shut off on its own and checked the needle which read over the full line. I will never do business with Budget/Avis rentals ever again especially not the one in Murfreesboro, TN and I recommend that everyone else avoid them too. These are scam artist tactics to gouge unsuspecting people out of their money. read more

This location is very deceptive! My wife rented a vehicle for 2 days...paid with credit card...employee says Avis requires you to have the insurance they provide and claimed it was only $10 more... As fast break members for years we were never informed of this besides our credit card company takes car of any issues if they occur. When returning the car the receipt showed 18.99 per day for insurance for a total of an extra $38 plus tax. If deceiving customers is their tactic I will stay away from them from here on out! I will be in touch with corporate office in the morning and post the final verdict. One star is too good for these guys! read more

They are unbelievably slow I mean you could wait 30 minutes to even get to the counter and returning your car easily another 30 minutes if there's two people ahead of you. They answer phones and take new reservations even if there's a line out the door and they have the worst system in place therefore it's a nightmare with efficiency. We rented and paid in advance for a 12 passenger van to shuttle guests from a hotel to our wedding. Our reservations were for pickup at 1pm. We arrived at 1:10 and the facility was closed!! This company made a reservation at a facility that was not open!! We knocked on the door but no one responded. We called customer service and we were transferred to numerous foreign-based call centers. The employees we spoke withw were not native English speakers and difficult to understand. During our hour long call with customer "service" the employees left the business and ignored us standing in the parking lot. We had to flag down a departing employee to even get someone to speak with us. The employee was rude and unhelpful even after we explained our situation. The only option given to us was "go to the airport". We had no opportunity to rent another van and we wound up transporting over 50 people via personal vehicle. This incident negatively impacted our wedding experience. We will never use Budget or Avis again. read more

I would give this pathetic franchise location a ZERO, if that were an option, or even a negative quadrillion. THE ABSOLUTE WORST!! I'll get into the details: I'm in town acting as best man in my best friends wedding, and we are picking up the van we rented to shuttle our guests to and fro. We arrived at the time of the reservation - the van was to be ready at one or after - however, the business was just closing and they would not assist us to obtain the rental; for which, I might add, we had already paid in-full. We could literally see the van we rented sitting on the lot. While standing in their parking lot, after knocking on the door and speaking to the service technician, all of the employees schlunked out of the building without acknowledging us, nor making any eye contact. We stopped the owner and begged him to provide us the pre-paid vehicle. He told us flippantly to go to the Nashville airport - 45 mins away, 3 hours before the wedding. He then sped off without a shred of caring nor empathy. Keep in mind, we were only there to pick up the vehicle - a specialty van we had reserved months in advance and could not source elsewhere on a weekend. There were no negative pre-conversations, no incidents of any kind, and nothing that would have put off these people from our end - simply attempting to be a customer to these folks. For whatever reason, they simply would not assist us. These are the WORST KIND OF PEOPLE. This Avis / Budget franchise should be closed. I will be following up with the corporate offices to make every effort to effect this change. I am directing this toward the most loathsome owner of this sham of a business: YOU ARE THE WORST KIND OF HUMAN BEING. I am being kind to even classify you as such. I was told I would ONLY be charged $317.88 when I asked the employee to confirm the amount on my receipt. They charged me $585. I rented a 2019 Ford Taurus from this location. While on the road I encountered heavy rain, and discovered that the wipers were severely worn. I had stop in a small town and purchase a driver side wiper blade costing $30. When I returned the car I presented them with the worn blade, and the receipt for the replacement. The manager politely refunded me the money, and apologized for the inconvenience. I will rent from this location again. read more

I rent cars several times throughout the year for business and travel, and this is my go-to location in town. I've rented from them about 30+ times over the past five years. Service is usually excellent compared to other car rental places in town. The worst problems I've ever had in all these years is one time there was a long line, and another time they didn't have a car ready so I had to come back in an hour. Nobody's ever been rude to me! For best experience / price, I recommend: --Signup for the Budget rewards program, FastBreak. It saves you time at checkout. --Call ahead to confirm reservation, just to be safe --Choose to fill up the gas yourself before returning - there's a Shell station right down the road and it's cheaper than having them refill. --Call your credit card's customer service and see if your credit card automatically covers you for the rental insurance when you use the credit card. read more

Beware. Never rent for them. Rented a car on the 13th of April turned it in on the 20th. Employee entered that I turned the car in on the 21st therefore additional fees were charged. The manager is Kelly. She is very unprofessional. She has stated she would look into correcting the additional charges within 3 hours. It has now been 8 hours and I still have not received a call back or fees corrected. I called her and was told she was not in. I was referred to corporate office. When I called them they stated that they could not refund any money because in the system it showed the car was turned in on the 21st was is not correct. The rep that checked us in during pick up on the 13th, Alex is her name, put all of the renter's info under the additional driver's. This was a big issue because when I called to confirm why the additional charges were added I was on the phone for over an hour because they could not find any information on me because it was listed under added driver not mine (the renter). Also during check in I was informed that the total was $603 but I would be charged $503 because $100 of that was a deposit that would be refunded. Now I am being told that the total of $603 does not include deposit but is actual charges. I will say again never rent from them. read more

Get your rental somewhere else. Almost 6 months ago now I rented a car through Avis which was covered through my warranty. At the time my boyfriend was asked if he wanted to pay 30 extra dollars for insurance which he did in full that day. 6 months later and three days before Christmas I am contacted and told that unless I had a different card they were going to charge me For 60 dollars that very day, that I never agreed to pay. I proceeded to give them a different card after coming to the realization that the Avis team doesn't care at all about my situation and was going to get the money anyway. After waiting for a week for the money to be pulled out and the ordeal to be over, the money is still sitting in my account. So I went down there to pay in cash, but guess what?!? They don't accept cash. But they do accept checks(seems a little weird to me) So now I am waiting once again for the money to be drawn out. Supposedly tomorrow. My advice, go somewhere else, where they care about you as a customer. Avis doesn't and they will get you wherever they can. read more
