We sailed on Celebrity Apex on a Norwegian fjords cruise two weeks ago. The original cruise…read moreterminal was City Center terminal however it was subsequently moved over to Horizon a few days before we were set to sail. It was a non issue as both terminals are nearby to each other. The Horizon cruise terminal is the newer one of the two. We pulled our 24 inch luggage over from a nearby hotel. Took about 15 minutes. We had planned to walk our luggage onto the ship. But then a cruise terminal worker suggested we not as the luggage probably couldn't fit onto the X-ray conveyor belt. We checked the luggage instead. Easy peasy as they tagged the luggage right then and there. It was a seamless process as we checked in using Celebrity's app while home. At the cruise terminal we showed our passports with the app and we're allowed to board. Typically we'll ask for early boarding to take advantage of the lunch buffet onboard. We showed up at 11:20am with a 11:30am embarkation. The day we disembarked was just as seamless. We walked off the ship with our luggage. Thank goodness it was at a downhill slant all the way down into the cruise terminal. A cruise employee acted as the traffic controller instructing passengers where to go depending on your previously transportation arrangements. We met our private transport past the pedestrian crossing. In and out within 10-15 minutes. Back to London for a post stay. Took about 1 hour 50 minutes due to traffic.

There were signs for taxis, shuttles, ride shares & tours. The taxi line moved very quickly, we were in our cab in about 5 minutes. The ride to the station was in under :10. Mick was our driver and he was not only on time, he was 15 minutes early. When the hotel front desk staff wasn't helpful in contacting us to let us know he was there, Mick was patient and persistent and we connected, almost by chance in the lobby as our luggage was being brought down. The luggage was loaded into the trunk of Mick's new Hyundai, an attractive model not found in the US as far as I know. He skillfully and courteously drove us out of London, though traffic and right up to the terminal where the ship was docked. He made excellent time and good conversation as well. The cost was about £125, which seems reasonable for that distance and for the convenience of door-to-door transportation. We would use Smith's again. Alan's only complaint was that the car wasn't a bit larger, because he felt cramped in the back seat.

I went to their web page and filled out the electronic form. Within 30 minutes, I had a quote of 92 pounds- roughly $150.00 each way (300.00 round trip) for all three people and all our luggage. The cruise line on the other hand offered a transfer via bus, with restrictions on the amount and weight of our luggage for 100.00 USD per person each way ($600.00). I booked via email and they answered my emails within minutes. I had a last minute change in pickup location (See my review of the Heathrow Sheraton) and emailed Smith's. It wasn't a problem.... They replied in minutes. They showed up in a almost brand new mini van and were on time. The drivers were polite and dressed professionally. Upon pickup, I again had a last minute change of pickup times.... Easily done via email. I would highly recommend Smith's for transportation needs in and out of Heathrow

From the get go Brian was super friendly and professional, even taking in his stride when another vendor let me down, having a knock on effect on the journey from a different hotel to my venue - he was so understanding and helped to make me less stressed! Communication was so easy and he was great at letting me know everything i needed to know for the day (timings etc, where was the best place for him to pick me up at the hotel for the best pics, the lot!!). He produced bottles of water for us for the journey and helped me with my dress and bouquet getting in and out of the car and also right up to the building we were getting married in at the venue - it was like having my own chauffeur, butler and handmaid rolled into one - Brian, you simply are a gem!! I cannot recommend Cathedral Cars highly enough, I can't say a single negative thing about my experience with them - except that it was over all too quickly!! Shocking behaviour, exceptionally Rude…read more My partner and i came across one of their cars parked outside a venue in Fareham and went over to enquire about hire for our wedding. We approached smiling and i put out my hand to shake the drivers hand while introducing myself only to be met with crossed arms and an arrogant and condescending stare for about 15 seconds while i explained who i was and why i was coming over, hand still held out in front of me. It wasn't until the guy realised he could sell us something that he then proceeded to uncross his arms and go to fetch a brochure. Needless to say this was stunningly rude and grimy behaviour. The look alone was just shocking, without the wait to see if he felt i was worth him uncrossing his arms to shake my hand! So if arrogant used car salesman is the vibe your going for on your wedding day, cathedral Cars is for you. With so many options with better cars and more affordable prices in the area, we'll unsurprisingly be booking with someone else.

We used the Queen Elizabeth II Cruise terminal as our embarkation and disembarkation points for our…read morecruise. It was convenient and efficient and not what I was expecting at all. We were going to walk to the terminal from our hotel but our desk agent at the hotel we stayed at advised us to not do that. I'm glad we didn't because it may seem like a short walk on the map, but it is not very short at all. I'm used to walking with my suitcases for 15 or more minutes but the sheer twists and turns and barricades, I would suggest taking a ride. I was surprised when the cab arrived at the terminal. This is an actual terminal. There were lanes for the different kinds of drop offs. The luggage area was clearly marked. There were a plethora of people guiding people to the areas in which they needed to be. There was a small waiting area down here if your assigned time hadn't hit yet. We checked in and took an escalator up the stairs, where we went through security, like at the airport. There was plenty of seating up here if you had to wait to embark. We did not, so I forgot to take any pictures. We then proceeding down an enclosed gangway that snaked/switch-backed down to the door of our ship. When we disembarked our ship, we did the exact same thing in reverse and went to a different area behind the check in for customs and luggage collection. We took a coach to Heathrow after that, which was very easy to find because there are plenty of people working and guiding you in the correct direction.
