    After ensuring that the location was open on the holiday weekend, I arrived to the rental car…read morelocation to find no employee present. Other renters had been there for over an hour waiting for an employee to arrive. As I was planning on traveling, I called customer support services and was told that both the location was closed and that we should wait for an employee to arrive. All of the other renters were experiencing a similar experience as none of us could get our rental cars. At the very least, signage should have indicated hours of operation if the location was closed or the online system should have rejected our reservations if the location was closed. If no one was present and the location was open, there should have been a better medium to contact someone with to resolve the issue. I had to cancel my reservation using a reservation specialist through my credit card company. While I'm grateful that I was able to be refunded and will get my money back within the week, my plans were completely disrupted as I was unable to get a car. I contacted corporate and I will not plan on using this location in the future. I will also encourage my peers not to use this location as no one should face this level of stress.

It's a budget/Avis location, and we had a reservation with Avis. No one was there two days in a row. Three people were trying to return a car. One person was trying to rent a car. We tried to return a car first and rent a car a day later. The weekend employee didn't show up. The manager and employee who work during the week wouldn't come in. Corporate customer service was useless even though we're Avis preferred customers. We were appalled and didn't know how we were going to get a car to drive to NYC. Thank goodness Beth from the Yorkville location came over when their location closed and helped us get everything squared away, with no help from the actual employees from this location.
