In summary, the ID MACHINE at the Yorkville NY Budget/Avis car rental office at 708 Oriskany Blvd would NOT accept my legal car license, nor my legal passport, even though the Syracuse budget office ID machine later DID work, which I found out the following week and took photos of that . Clearly the Yorkville ID machine was faulty. And no way around it. Zero help from even the manager. I spent over $260 in ubers to get to the Adirondacks and back all on my own without a rental car...as I was stranded and had no choice. I have heard others say that the same thing has happened at other Budget offices too! I feel finally DONE with Budget forever, considering the horrific lack of decent customer service. Booking.com has just as good, if not better prices thru Hertz. read more

Had a rental from NYC that was extremely unsafe to drive with belts showing on all the tires. Came to this location for an exchange since it was the closest to Cooperstown. After inspection of the tires, Chris would not allow me to get back in that minivan and drive off. He went above and beyond to to find me an exchange. Really, appreciated the service at this location. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Extremely rude staff. Not professional at all and very sloppy. They were without power due to a power outage. Literally shouted at us to remain in our car. After waiting a half an hour, I went inside only to get screamed at again. When I yelled back as he wouldn't let me speak, I was told he would no longer rent a car to me. I was left with a son who needed transportation to LaGuardia and no way to get there. Terrible company. I said I would report him to his home office and he said he could care less. I see I'm not the only bad review. read more

If I could give ZERO stars I would. Made reservations to pick up a vehicle on Tuesday April 30th 2024. Everything was fine and set to go according to their Website. Got to the Yorkville NY location and ONE..... It says NOWHERE on the site that you have to pass some BS credit check on A BANK CARD ! TWO it quite LITERALLY smelled like shit in there and the woman absolutely REFUSED to open the door to try and air the place out. Then..... I had to call CANADA to get my money back. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST PLACE I'VE EVER TRIED TO RENT A CAR FROM !!!!!!! DO NOT GO THERE read more

Unsafe cars when asked for a different one nothing they can do. They wanted me to drive 9 hours on bald tires and pulling to one side. Take your business elsewhere. read more

Other renters had been there for over an hour waiting for an employee to arrive. As I was planning on traveling, I called customer support services and was told that both the location was closed and that we should wait for an employee to arrive. All of the other renters were experiencing a similar experience as none of us could get our rental cars. At the very least, signage should have indicated hours of operation if the location was closed or the online system should have rejected our reservations if the location was closed. If no one was present and the location was open, there should have been a better medium to contact someone with to resolve the issue. I had to cancel my reservation using a reservation specialist through my credit card company. While I'm grateful that I was able to be refunded and will get my money back within the week, my plans were completely disrupted as I was unable to get a car. I contacted corporate and I will not plan on using this location in the future. I will also encourage my peers not to use this location as no one should face this level of stress.

No one was there two days in a row. Three people were trying to return a car. One person was trying to rent a car. We tried to return a car first and rent a car a day later. The weekend employee didn't show up. The manager and employee who work during the week wouldn't come in. Corporate customer service was useless even though we're Avis preferred customers. We were appalled and didn't know how we were going to get a car to drive to NYC. Thank goodness Beth from the Yorkville location came over when their location closed and helped us get everything squared away, with no help from the actual employees from this location.

Glamping is an elevated camping experience - think glamorous camping. I was intrigued to say the least and decided to head on out to Firelight Camps in Ithaca, NY to try it out. I actually did sleep in a tent as you can see. Although it was the inside of the tent that elevated my experience. While it was a real tent I had a wooden floor and a real bed! The bed was so comfortable too. I didn't want to get up in the morning. I loved hearing the sounds of nature outside. There was no electricity, but there were lanterns you could use in the tent. The lanterns even had a USB plug in to charge your phone. The campgrounds were beautiful! There was a fire pit and larger tent to eat meals in. They also had bathrooms to shower in. They weren't in the tents, but just a short walk from them. We had a fabulous time chatting and just hanging out in the common area. Of course what camping experience is complete with out s'mores? When the fire pit was lit the s'mores came out. These were an elevated experience as well. They were the most delicious s'mores I've ever tasted - homemade marshmallows and graham crackers!

Being able to hop on a shuttle or take a short drive to the casino is a plus if you're into that too! Nice restaurants and venues there for rainy days. The only thing that even borders on a negative is the price, which is higher than a lot of other campgrounds, but you really do get what you pay for, and that is especially true here. Barring some catastrophic change, we will be back many more times in the future!
