Alstonville country stay Located on an immaculately kept…read morerural property 4 km and a 5-minute drive from Alstonville, this a self-contained 2-bedroom suite/apartment with a separate entrance next to Rik and Donelle's home. The suite was decorated and furnished to a high standard - there was a comfortable lounge with flat screen TV, a dining room with a food preparation area, a good bathroom and a deck/veranda with terrific views. There is also a pool and a small gas Weber BBQ available for your use. Rik is a great host and he was super responsive and quick to answer our queries during our stay. This is a lovely place to stay if you are looking for some peace and serenity!

The bathroom has a hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, body wash etc. this is all at a very low cost. The pool is quite large and quite invigorating. The rain water was colder than the pool. QUALITY It's a hostel folks, you get what you pay for. Community areas are clean. Bathrooms could use a fresh coat of paint but atleast the showers had warm water. VALUE It's cheaper than some of the other hostels which are more "party hostels". This is a good place to chill out and enjoy some surf if that's what you're in to

The facilities and accomodation are lovely. The spa packages are top notch and leave you with healthy new habits to take back home. The staff are not only helpful but very friendly. The minute you walk into the place you are greeted as if you are part of the family. Oh and the food! Locally produced, very healthy and filling. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to go back again! P.S. When I arrived back home to the hustle and bustle of the city, I was watching everyone at the airport running around like headless chooks, full of anxiety. I wondered, "Why are these people so stressed? Life is good, chill people, take your time, smell the roses...". My point? That's how relaxed you'll be after a stay here. :)

However, although I cancelled within the terms of their booking policy via my hotels.com account, they charged my card in full. When I called, they stated it was their policy. When hotels.com called on my behalf, they denied charging me in the first place. I double and triple checked to be sure I was correct and hotels.com backed this up. Might be a decent motel but very dishonest business practices.
