I would try some here and there and was never happy with the cut. For important events I would suck it up and make the long drive to my old barber shop. I know a lot of men around here like to go to salons for their haircuts but I was looking that good old barber shop experience. Sports on the TV, real magazines in the racks and good conversation with real people. If this is what you are looking for also, then Nick's is the place. Price is about $18 which seems average for around here. The cut is good and I have not been anywhere else since.

Gave Nick's a try since my other barber was booked. I was not disappointed with the service. It is a small shop, only two chairs, and it was pretty hard to find because I drove past it without even knowing. Dave cut my hair and even though I was a few minutes late he did not rush through the cut. He seemed pretty focused on details and was very open to comments and my suggestions of "a little more here" and "a bit shorter there". I've honestly never felt that comfortable with a barber right off the bat. The phone did ring off the hook and since Dave was the only one in the shop we had to pause multiple times. He made sure everything was to my satisfaction. At the end of the cut, the finishing touches were the hot shaving cream for the back of the cut and a skin toner. For $18 a cut, I will definitely be going back.

Where the barber knew his customers and you could talk the whole time like old friends while still getting the best possible cut ever. JD's does it all, great cuts especially the best classic flat tops you remember, these days it's very hard to find someone who can do it right, trust me! Justin was very nice and personable. He had advice on hairstyling tips that no one else has offered me before. He did a great job of communicating what he was doing and why. If you're working towards a hairstyle, he's determined to get you where you want to be. The entire shop seems to truly care about their customers. I'd definitely recommend scheduling an appointment for their shop. Great quality of care and friendly staff all for a good price.

Being from out of town (and having finally found the right barber in NYC) I was worried when it came time to get a trim, but THESE GUYS ARE GREAT! Not only did they do a fantastic job on the beard and hair, but they gave me some good tips on how to maintain it and continue to grow it into the shape that's right for my face.
