want to share my personal experience with this breeder. At one point, I was offered a kitten that appeared to have an unusual jaw shape. This was not initially disclosed. I noticed it myself in photos that were sent to me, and after I asked about it, the breeder acknowledged the issue in our written communication. I decided not to proceed with that kitten. Later, I received another kitten, but I had to seek emergency veterinary care. The veterinarian noted that a genetic defect or developmental issue could not be ruled out. This resulted in approximately $800 in veterinary expenses. I returned the kitten to the breeder. I did not receive reimbursement for the veterinary costs, and I do not know what happened with the kitten afterward. Additionally, I personally saw a public listing by this breeder offering a kitten without a tail. I cannot make conclusions about the cause, but this raised additional concerns for me. This experience caused me significant stress, time, and financial loss. Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend this breeder. I am a licensed vet tech in Ohio, and I can truly say, regardless of sharing a last name lol, this is the BEST place to get your Frenchie or lab pup and Himalayans! They are cared for all the way around! She is very cautious about the wellbeing of her babies from proper and non-stop cleaning to loving and socializing all of her animals! All of her babies and parents are kept on the highest quality food with vitamins, bathing, tooth brushing, consistent vet care and more! She won't hesitate to ask her vet any and all questions to ensure the best possible care! That being said, I now have my first puppy and a Frenchie at that sometimes new puppies can be stressed easily, and worms which all pups have can become apparent. Reagan made her trip all the way back to Texas with no issues! The method she uses to aid in early potty training did wonders! No accidents during a 24 hour drive, she LOVES being held and is in the best health! I wouldn't recommend anyone.else! It is worth any drive or flight you might take to have a healthy and well loved pup! She is super social and well behaved for only being 8 weeks! I swear any low ratings you may find are just those who dislike breeders and have never seen her kennel, but you know your pup is genetically tested and healthy. I do have 2 rescues in addition to our new baby as well as Takara (Himalayan) who is retired from Avon Kennels. This is an absolute puppy mill. We adopted a puppy Summer 2021 but there were so many red flags. There were a large number of simultaneous litters. The puppies live in a kennel and are not raised and socialized with the breeders. We weren't allowed to meet the puppies' mother (and looking through the internet archives (https://web.archive.org/web/*/https://avonkennels.com/) it looks like the dam has had many, many litters, and during back-to-back heats. The enclosure is as small as possible and 2 of the litters, younger than 8 weeks, were not with their mother. Our puppy had diarrhea and our vet found that she had giardia. This is not surprising because the enclosure was absolutely filthy. Our puppy seemed sweet initially, but clearly had not been socialized well, as she aggressively barks and lunges at other dogs and small children. I wouldn't be surprised if Kim's grandkids abuse the dogs because our puppy is incredibly nervous around children. It took an enormous amount of time and effort to quell her aggression. We decided to adopt from a breeder because we wanted a puppy who was well socialized in order to avoid behavior problems. Well, we ended up with a puppy mill dog, which has behavior as bad as an abused rescue. Avoid this breeder at all costs! read more

We can't say enough about Kim and Avon Kennels. We decided to go to a breeder because our previous lab, a rescue at ~ 2 years of age, had so many significant behavior and medical issues - we probably spent $25,000 on medical and training fees during his 10 years (no joke!!). We found Kim on the AKC website, and began communicating immediately. Her willingness to talk, email, send pictures, etc, was very generous. We went to see our "pick" before he was ready for adoption, and was able to meet both parents (his mother was getting some much deserved rest in a separate area, but was not far). We were given ample time to ask questions and learn "best approaches" as we prepared to welcome our new family member. We met her young kids who were ~ 9 or 10 at the time, and were so relieved to see how much love and attention the puppies were receiving from birth (our previous lab could not be near children - or other adults, for that matter!!). We got everything in order for his arrival, and came back a few weeks later to pick-up Wyatt. We were given a bag full of useful information about training, food, etc, and were told Kim would always be just a call away. She wasn't kidding...I have kept in touch with her for the last 5.5 years to ask questions, solicit advice, and send pictures. We have so much faith in Avon Kennels and the dogs she raises that we adopted Wyatt's half-brother this past April when his original "parents" had to re-home him after finding out they were expecting a delivery of multiples (human babies, not puppies). We would recommend Avon Kennels to anyone interested in a most perfect pup! Lab puppies have a LOT of energy and take a LOT of training and patience.
