Playground Review:…read more As a self renowned playground connoisseur, I think this one was top notch. There were two playgrounds, one on the side of the school and one in the back. The one on the side was nice but mainly for younger kids under 5. They had toy cars you can push your baby around in. The one in the back was really new and clean. They had so many playscapes to choose from; climbing jungle, slides, swings, and ladders. There were a bunch of benches, a gazebo with picnic tables, and a ball pit. There were basketball ball courts and a soccer field. Blazer's Trail is also in the back. I wish this was my elementary school! The school looks clean and well maintained from the outside. I do not know the ranking or much about the school, so can't say much about that.

This is a review of the Latimer Lane Elementary School Expansion…read more "Up in the mornin' and out to school The teacher is teachin' the Golden Rule" (Chuck Berry) Other than going into the Latimer Lane school on an election day, it's been quite a while (decades in fact) since I spent a long time here. But we visited today for a special open house to check out the school's $39 million dollar expansion that took five years of planning and two years of construction. The tour included ten stations (library/media center, gymnasium, cafeteria, music room, art room, renovated classrooms, etc.). Each station had one or two tour guides that were Latimer Lane Elementary School students, and the kids did a fantastic job telling us about the new school and classroom features at their station. There was a lot of hi tech on display -a video production studio, 3D printers, interactive electronic games on the floor, and other cool stuff. I was very impressed by the art room and music room which were overflowing with things for the children to use and experiment with. I was also impressed at the two new playgrounds, climbing wall in the gym, and the many outdoor classroom spaces to take learning outside on good weather days. I love how these young students will be introduced to video production, coding, and 3D printing this early in their lives.

About 4 playscapes and various other little rides. My kids played there for an hour and really enjoyed it. There was a school garden right near there. A large field and the trail entrance is located on the outskirts of the field. There were outdoor classrooms at the beginning of the trail. There was a basketball court, swings, and bike path. Based on all the amenities, this seems great for a visitor; as for the school itself, I'm not sure since I don't have children enrolled in it. Overall, a great playground right near a great trail!
