Little did I know, whether I wanted to play or not, I was going, along with the guys I hang out with in the hood. My wife booked Sunday afternoon for my birthday. Just to put this into perspective, I'm 56 and the average age of the crew is 61, so yeah did not think this was going to be a good idea, figured at least one of us would have a heart attack. If nothing else require oxygen masks. Anyhow we arrived at our planned time and was greeted by Larry to fill out waivers and discuss what guns, masks etc. we wanted. He then took us for the safety brief and lead us to the playing areas. He also designated a covered area with picnic tables for coolers etc. There are four playing areas, one speed game with plastic barriers and two other fields with pallets, fences, bridges and forts. There is another area but we didn't use it, it is a large area about a 1/4 mile long. At first it was a little rough going as a couple of the guys never played before but once they got the hang of it, it was a blast. We played around 15 games in the three fields. There was only one other group so we were basically on our own pace. Play a round, set down for a few minutes to catch our breath, then back at it. The grounds are very nice, plenty of covered seating areas and bleachers on one side of the speed round field. The staff was excellent, Larry somehow, after seeing our names on the waivers knew who each was and called us by our first names. I think the staff was amazed that a bunch of seniors had the courage to play and make it out alive, lol. We are already planning another day at Charlies.

This year I decided to finally book an event for a birthday party. I booked the karaoke room for 20 people on a Sunday. My guests and I had a great time doing the karaoke and looking around the venue as they have so much to offer. When booking I would suggest asking if they are having any other events around the same time so you can know what the space will be like when you are there. I booked on a Sunday from 6-8 and it was empty except for my party and it was great. The event coordinator I spoke to on the phone was very helpful with questions that we had. David who was working the bar and helping me check in was awesome and so helpful. I will say from the outside this venue does look a little shady, many of my guest had trouble finding the right entrance but they all gave compliments when indoors, as this place has so much cool stuff once inside. I do wish I was told that the restaurant and food they offered was not going to be open during my party, as they were not open when my party was there. If you are looking for a place to karaoke with a large group Uncharted adventures does have great pricing compared to most karaoke rooms offered in San Antonio at about 1/3 of the price.

Really?! Yet, you sell pizzas without a box or any container to cover them. The only reason this bowling place gets a 2 star is: 1. Price (good for brand new enlisted soldiers) 2. The bowling software does have a neat feature where they take pics of you and show during the game. So of you are in training, you can't go off base and there is nothing else to do Fort Sam Houston Bowling Center is the place to to go. Otherwise, go off post and be happy somewhere else. My son's joint birthday party on May 30, 2026 was fun for the kids, and that's almost entirely…read morethanks to our party host, Aidan. He was engaging, helpful, and kept the energy up throughout the night. The food was good, the skating was fun, and the boys had a blast. However, there are serious management issues at this rink that potential customers need to know about. First, we were double charged. I paid a $200 deposit online, then paid the remaining balance of $422.18 at the rink on the night of the party, May 30th. An hour later, I received an email charging me another $395.38. The rink told me they switched credit card vendors but their system is still processing charges through the old vendor -- meaning your card information is being charged twice. When I went back on May 31st to complain about being double charged, I was told to dispute it with my bank -- meaning I'm out the money for ten business days while my bank sorts it out, because the skating rink isn't issuing a simple refund. It was only during that conversation that I was asked if I had received my skate passes -- which I had not. This is unacceptable, especially for families who might not have that cushion. Do not book with a credit card online until you confirm this is fixed. Second, the party package advertised glow bracelets and necklaces for every child. We didn't receive them, and as compensation we were offered free extra pitchers of soda instead. Fortunately we brought our own glow accessories for the kids, but other families might not come prepared. That's not acceptable when you're spending over $600. Third, the party package lists skate mates at $10.00 -- but what they don't tell you is that's $10 per hour. For a 3-hour party, that's $30 per skate mate per person. If you have kids or family members who can't skate and need one, this adds up fast and is not clearly disclosed. The listing is misleading. Finally, our party host Aidan was working alone on a Saturday night as the party host, DJ, game coordinator, and server. He managed so much on his own that night -- the fact that anything slipped through the cracks is entirely a management failure, not his. Aidan deserves a raise. If you book here, go in with eyes open about the billing issues and missing items. Aidan will take care of you -- management won't.
