These windows leak freezing cold air all around the outside of them where the insulation is but also all around the caulk that is on the outside of the window. I had to battle with this company and the manufacturer who makes the windows to try to put more insulation around them and apply more caulk where air seeps in and it was nothing but fighting. I had to call Thermo Expert at least five times to get them to come out because I was not satisfied. Even after the manufacturer put additional insulation around the outside there is still freezing cold air that comes in both around the window and around the caulk that Thermo Expert used for installation. Every time I was able to get someone to come to my house they of course gaslit me and told me that there was no cold air coming in. Finally the owner offered to replace one of the windows with a triple pane window which naturally wouldn't solve the problem but I said okay. Of course nobody called me to follow up and I didn't have the energy to keep fighting with them. I'm still so angry as this is the second winter I've been freezing in my house as my heat comes on way more frequently than it should. Don't waste your money on this company that sells garbage windows at a high price. This is the worst money I've ever spent on my house, what an expensive mistake.

When asked for his professional advise on measurements for a plate glass stand that would be similar to but slightly larger than one he had on display, he told me he "was not a professional" and that if I wanted information I "should Google 'plate glass'." I agree with his former statement and had done my research to obtain a functional but not full knowledge of what I needed before engaging his services. My failures were trying to get information and not providing the measurement to the center of the leg that would raise the glass stand.* *Please note: Neither Mr Boland nor his assistant could tell me the dimension of the leg; thus, making it impossible for me to calculate this measurement. (I provided the measurement to edge of the leg from the edge of the glass). I try to support local even if prices are higher than non-local competitor (and Berkshire Plate Glass' are significantly higher). In the end, Mr Boland refused my business so I cannot comment on the quality of Berkshire Plate Glass' work, but as Mr Boland self-described, I suspect it, too, would not be professional. People wonder why Pittsfield is called 'the pits' and 'pity'. It's a pity that Berkshire Plate Glass exemplifies how pitiful Pittsfield businesses treat customers. When everything came in, he installed two doors plus replaced an overhead door with a solid, double door to the cellar. He was on time, finished ahead of schedule and his products are excellent. My father had received a quote for replacing a bay window from another company in town that he had hired before. That other company looked to take advantage of that and quoted my father a price of $10,000 to replace it. I got involved and looked for other options and was truly fortunate to find J&D Windows and Doors. First off, the price was a FRACTION of what the first company quoted, but more than that David really took in a genuine interest in discussing all the options with my father so that my father was comfortable knowing he was getting exactly what he wanted. The other company took a more cookie cutter approach and was more interested in seeing dollar signs than customer satisfaction.. Due to Covid, supply was interrupted so the new window couldn't be installed when initially scheduled. That had nothing to do with J&D but David still gave my father a discount due to the inconvenience. Completely unnecessary but most appreciated and just a classy move on his part. All told, the work to take out the old bay and put in the new took little more than a morning with a little finishing to be done the next day. The result was amazing and my father was completely overjoyed with the result and I echo how well it turned out. I and my father, recommend J&D thoroughly, absolutely and whole heartedly.
