The end result is gorgeous - it's now a centerpiece of our living room. Update June 2020: We did another terrific project with Donna and her team, upholstering an antique carriage bench with fun fabric I found in Madrid. They did a perfect job, including really thoughtfully centering the pattern in the fabric and putting piping around the edges. The finished piece is transformed and brings us so much joy!

If you are a woman, want to be an informed customer, expect expertise from a company whose owner,…read more Harold Boland, says "he's been in [this] business all [his] life", DO NOT go to Berkshire Plate Glass at 35 First St in Pittsfield MA. When asked for his professional advise on measurements for a plate glass stand that would be similar to but slightly larger than one he had on display, he told me he "was not a professional" and that if I wanted information I "should Google 'plate glass'." I agree with his former statement and had done my research to obtain a functional but not full knowledge of what I needed before engaging his services. My failures were trying to get information and not providing the measurement to the center of the leg that would raise the glass stand.* *Please note: Neither Mr Boland nor his assistant could tell me the dimension of the leg; thus, making it impossible for me to calculate this measurement. (I provided the measurement to edge of the leg from the edge of the glass). I try to support local even if prices are higher than non-local competitor (and Berkshire Plate Glass' are significantly higher). In the end, Mr Boland refused my business so I cannot comment on the quality of Berkshire Plate Glass' work, but as Mr Boland self-described, I suspect it, too, would not be professional. People wonder why Pittsfield is called 'the pits' and 'pity'. It's a pity that Berkshire Plate Glass exemplifies how pitiful Pittsfield businesses treat customers. I see an Amazon order in my near future.

Cancelled last minute one day, then didn't show for a rescheduled appointment the following day…read more No call, text, email prior or in response to my inquiry as to their not showing. Not professional or decent. I had sent the pictures of the damaged roof the day before, os which they could have cancelled or indicated they were not interested or able to provide roof work. No apology, nothing. They were aware I needed this completed to have solar panels reinstalled, of which they indicated they could do work soon. Would not recommend!
