Worth checking out once for a couple of chuckles. Merch is mostly junk. Driven by Ax-Man on University for years and years. Finally stopped in for the first time last evening. I had no idea what to expect. While it was somewhat amusing browsing the aisles and reading the signs on the bins pitching their wares, I did not make any purchases. Can definitely see this place being cool as shit for many - the vast majority of what they are selling is just not for my tastes. Borrowing from the language on the Ax-Man website: it is full of thing-a-ma-jigs, whatz-its, and doo-dads. Most of it is dirt cheap because it is worthless garbage. Buy 12 pieces of one type of crap, and you get the 13th one for free. I could easily see a hoarder going bankrupt shopping at Ax-Man. The only items that interested me were some of the statues that they had on display, but I did not see any price tags on them. Guessing they would be negotiable if you were seriously interested. I could see putting hip-hop Jeezy in my place of abode as a gag. I'll give you $20 bucks for him - what do you say, Ax-Man?

I highly recommend making a shopping date with friends and then hitting coffee afterwards. Bonus: Flying Pig is typically open until 6 pm and Ginkgo 8 pm!! Flying Pig Thrift is staffed primarily by volunteers and everyone is beyond kind. Community resources are available onsite via a bulletin board and the shop supports 3 main non-profit groups. Within the dressing area room, there was a flyer supporting mental health resources and I smiled when I saw it. There are a wide variety of items that shift seasonally and frequently. Items are fairly priced and there are often sales, half price item days and even a permanent sale section in the back. I was really excited to score a denim button up with funky colorful bird designs, a cute yellow bee kind sweatshirt along with a black Nike top. In addition to clothes, there are shoes, cards, jewelry, some handcrafted art, home decor, hospital scrubs, board games, records, magazines and more. Thank you Flying Pig Thrift! I appreciate your mission and service towards the Saint Paul area.

The staff seem to always be in great spirits collaborating as one team which is rare to see in retail these days. I've been investigating Turn Style much more and also highly recommend the Roseville location. The Highland Park one is fine but my number one complaint is the cramped feeling which absolutely comes with being in Saint Paul. There is no designated parking lot but you can find some hidden spots behind the building. Furthermore, the way the tops are organized on the wall are frustrating for a short person like me as you have to reach super high up just to comb through the clothes. There is also a medium size selection of furniture as compared to Roseville but again, fairly certain this is due to location and space. None the less, similar to all other locations, you can find anything here as each item is color coded and if you seek out name brands, they have them. From handbags to shoes you can't go wrong for the price. This store is also very inclusive carrying the smallest of small sizes to largest. Thank you, Turn Style!! Keep it up!

They are now located in Saint Paul on Snelling and I'm thrilled as a STP girly. My friend introduced me to the shop after she scored some cowboy boots for a themed party. We visited together on a Sunday and were able to snag some fun deals including a swimming suit, a dress I plan to wear for Halloween, and some tops. Buffalo Exchange sells both men and women's clothing along with shoes and accessories. Pricing is fair and the interior is clean and well organized. The staff is friendly and helps bring items to the dressing room to try on and write your name on a big board. Upon purchase, you will be handed a token if you don't take a bag or bring your own bag. From there, you get to pick a charity of your choice to donate a percentage of your purchase to with no extra fees included. Amongst favoring second hand wear, I also support Buffalo Exchange's mission and variety of items. I look forward to finding more gems very soon. Welcome to Saint Paul!!!

I have been a loyal customer since 2019, purchasing multiple items every-time I visit! Unfortunately, this past visit, there was a sweater in the window display that was my size and well-priced. When I asked the sales associate, who was the only person working during this time, if I could purchase the sweater in the display window, she informed me that their policy restricts them from removing clothes in the display window because "it is too difficult to take the sweater off of the mannequin." She informed me that I should come back at a later date when they swap out the clothing in the display window to purchase the sweater. I informed her that I was from out of town and my return flight was before that date. She told me that they could ship it, which I'm sure I would have to pay the shipping costs on, even though I was already in-person at the store. I am not sure if this is a real policy or not, but if it is a real policy, they should really consider removing this and making the mannequins for accessibly. Unfortunately they lost my business and will lose my business in the future. Best of luck!
