The ladies at the desk welcomed me and made me feel so much better (I was so stressed from the pipes). My dog and i thoroughly enjoyed the room. Dogs are welcome here which is awesome. When I came back on day 2 once again I was asked how things went today at camp. It's nice to be remembered from when I was here in April but also nice to have people who care!! I do wish there were utensils and plates in the room, though they are available in the lobby near breakfast. Breakfast is included, and the hotel has a gym and pool on-site (though the gym was under renovation during our stay--it would have been nice to know beforehand). They also offer free Wi-Fi and parking, both included. The main reason we chose this hotel is that it's pet-friendly, though there is a nightly dog fee. They seem attentive to dogs--each room has magnets you can place outside the door so housekeeping knows not to let them out. One downside is that housekeeping comes every other day instead of daily. I understand the eco-friendly approach, but it would be nice for guests to have the choice. The beds were very comfortable, the heating worked well (much needed in 7-degree weather), and the showers had good pressure and hot water. The room was clean, and staff were friendly, even remembering my dog's name. Overall, I really like this hotel; the every-other-day cleaning isn't ideal, but it's not a dealbreaker.

Honestly, if you are looking for a modern stay with a fresh vibe, this is NOT the place for you. If you are looking for daily maid service, go somewhere else. On the second day she forgot to give me any clean towels, so I had to get them from the front desk. Luckily I spotted that problem in time to do so. At least there was plenty of hot water available. There also was an incident where I had to walk past police officers in order to get into the main lobby. I probably will be looking for another place to stay next time I visit Augusta.

I understand why this hotel has a 2.4 star rating and would expect next year when we come through town, this hotel will be gone or under a new owner - one could only hope. Management did acknowledge the issues and said the rooms not yet updated were to be done soon. Perhaps verify if your room choice has been done if reserving. The staff that run the place are super down to earth. The owners are amazing people that I admire tremendously. They have rooms with and without kitchens. They also have cabins available with kitchens. It's extremely busy in June with fisherman. We happened to catch it the very end of the season! I'm so glad we saw it with the fire pit, the pontoon boats, and the music going from next-door till late at night. It was all dreamy. I can't wait to go back.
