This was my second stay at this Homewood Suites, and I really appreciate that each room comes with a kitchenette, including a toaster, stove, and dishwasher. I do wish there were utensils and plates in the room, though they are available in the lobby near breakfast. Breakfast is included, and the hotel has a gym and pool on-site (though the gym was under renovation during our stay--it would have been nice to know beforehand). They also offer free Wi-Fi and parking, both included. The main reason we chose this hotel is that it's pet-friendly, though there is a nightly dog fee. They seem attentive to dogs--each room has magnets you can place outside the door so housekeeping knows not to let them out. One downside is that housekeeping comes every other day instead of daily. I understand the eco-friendly approach, but it would be nice for guests to have the choice. The beds were very comfortable, the heating worked well (much needed in 7-degree weather), and the showers had good pressure and hot water. The room was clean, and staff were friendly, even remembering my dog's name. Overall, I really like this hotel; the every-other-day cleaning isn't ideal, but it's not a dealbreaker. read more

Roach bait! Local but we decided to spend two nights because of the snowstorm and afraid we'd lose power at our place. We went to pick up a pizza the first night because the weather was fine the second night I had brought stuff to fry but could not find a frying pan.. went to the front desk they said they're getting ready to remodeled and they've thrown out all their frying pan. Then as I was plugging in a phone, I found this. ROACH BAIT! I showed it to the front desk and they said it must have been from another guest. Obviously they are not cleaning the rooms. They did offer another room but we have already been in this room for 24 hours and my mother is disabled so moving would be very hard. So now I have spent $30 plus on dinner to be delivered and apparently in a room with roaches. Would not recommend staying here!!!! read more

This was more of a pit stop on our week long tour of the New England area. The hotel is just off the interstate which was convenient as we didn't have to take a big detour to get here. We stayed here just one night but were very satisfied with the amenities. The room was large, spacious, clean and comfortable. Morning free breakfast is always a plus (one less thing to worry about). The breakfast was really good, had plenty of stuff to chose from - waffles, eggs and such. The lounge area was nice and comfortable as well. Staff was welcoming and very helpful. Overall this is a great place to stay and the price was very reasonable as well. read more

This has been my 4th stay at Homewood Suites in Augusta. I felt the need to re post all of my experiences. This has been one of the fee Hotels I've stayed at I've been 100% happy with every time I've stayed there. The Hotel is always spotless, I can not speak highly enough of the Staff there. They are always friendly and helpful. Every room I've stayed in is clean, everything works and (unlike some) extended stay hotels I've been to the kitchen had everything you need to cook and serve. I mean how sad is your life if you have to boost kitchen utensils from a hotel??? At many hotels the "Free Breakfast" is one step above a Refugee Feeding Station and makes an Army breakfast in the field look like dining with the Queen of England. Not so here. The food is great with real plates and silverware. This place is 1st class, well worth the money. read more

Fantastic! From the moment you walk in! They are so clean! They have been open for three years. The front desk employee stated they try very hard to keep it cleaned and put together . Breakfast was amazing. They had a little bit of this and that... waffles, eggs, bacon, oatmeal, cereal, juice, fruit ect! The room was so nice. I loved how it was set up. It is not a galley kitchen. Enough room and it had an open concept. The bathroom was so clean. I appreciate that the toilet and shower are separated from the sink. Easier for people to get ready of there is more than one person in the room. I highly recommend this hotel. It's a 30 min drive outside of Freeport. read more

Find a nicer place to stay! We booked a room for 4 nights for our family of six. First thing we encountered was food crumbs all over the stained covered couch. We had to call the front desk & arequest a vacuum cleaner to clean it up. Next was the sofa "bed" mattress that was falling apart. The coils were visible all the way around it and not suitable for anyone to sleep on. We called the front desk to request another mattress for it & we were told they DID NOT have any available...."sorry, completely booked." For 2 NIGHTS my youngest boys slept on the dirty couch with blankets & extra pillows the hotel was nice enough to at least give us. On the 3 morning, my husband tracked down the maintenance manager who kindly found a brand new mattress for the couch. He said the front desk NEVER notified him of the problem and that he would have taken care of it right away if they had. We were not compensated for the inconvenience! The internet WiFi was terrible too. The pool was over chlorinated and the smell was unbearable. My daughter was in the pool for a short time and received burns to her shoulders from the chlorine. Only redeeming quality of this hotel was the breakfast which had a good variety each morning & fresh fruit. read more

I love this hotel. I've stayed here several time when visiting my grandchildren. The staff are the best. The suites are fantastic with a stovetop, microwave, dishwasher and full sized refrigerator. I especially like the queen suite with separate bedroom. I know people have complained about the internet but really, is that why they're there? I've never found it to be any slower than any other hotel. read more

I've stayed at this hotel nearly every week since Fall. The staff here are all incredible! Each and every single one of them go out of their way to make you feel right at home. Every week Heather leaves a hand-written note in my room and leaves my bag that I keep there on the weekends. Not to mention this property is one of the cleanest hotels I've ever stayed at! We were very impressed with this Homewood Suites. The staff is super friendly and helpful, the room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. I think what won us over was the food. The cocktail reception (5-7pm) was an unexpected surprise and we enjoyed wine, beer and nibbles. They had cheese, a fresh salad bar, spinach and artichoke dip(!!!) Breakfast was also very good. Very pleased with the amenities, indoor heated pool, gym and laundry machines. $2 for washer, $2 for dryer and the front desk can supply you with Tide and Bounce for only $1.25. Definitely felt 'at home'. read more

Absolutely disgusting!! We tried two rooms and both beds had been slept on and dirty! I didn't take a photo if the first bed, but what Hilton thinks this is ok? Do not stay here!!! It is filthy, there were dirty dishes a dirty bed and a dirty toilet. read more

A dog pound. When getting off the elevator and tracking to our room, we were inundated by incessant dog barking echoing throughout the hallway. We were horrified as we got closer and closer to our room to find out it was louder and louder and coming from the room next door to us. Went on for 30 minutes, so we left the hotel and went somewhere else. Had to give up our 2 bedroom suite we booked in advance. Poor business decisions being made at Hiltons - letting $150 rooms run off $250 rooms. All to be dog inclusive now? I am done with Hiltons. read more

DO NOT come here if you can not pay your total in full down to the penny. Most hotels expect this at checking in, which is fine if it's for a weekend, even a week, but I'm a travel nurse and booked for 53 days, with a total of over $6,000, who has that just lying around? Not most people. I called the manager asking if I could do weekly payments and I was under the assumption that it would be fine. When I check in, it was late, and the night staff was not aware of this. After this, they started to randomly take money out of my account. Later, I ran into some financial difficulties and was "late" on a couple of payments (that they attempted to pull from my account without my knowing) and they locked me out of my room both times BEFORE they even tried calling me-I was told this specifically by a staff member. I had told a staff member the first time, that I work at night and sleep during the day, so if they can't get a hold of me right away, I'm probably sleeping. That's not good enough. They took over $1,000 from my bank account to zero out my room account and expected more money right away, which I didn't have. I just don't understand the greediness and the constant harassment. I feel like I couldn't even walk through the hotel without being shamed for not paying at the exact moment they want it. Yes, there are policies, everyone has them, but I know they are flexible according to situation, I've been a manager. Corporations are only out for themselves. Making sure the rich get richer while people like me are struggling to get by with a negative balance in our bank account. I will not be returning to this hotel, and I'm sure they will not be upset about that. Other complaints: -the auto lock on the door would engage before the door was shut, therefore the door would still be open when I got back to my room if I didn't catch it when I left. -there's a metal plate over the drain in the shower, so hair would clog the drain and the water would back up into the shower. My fiancé finally figured out what it was or I never would have known. -when starting the shower, if you turned it up on high heat, the water would just stop working...it was weird, so I gradually had to turn up the heat to get the shower to work. -the washer & dryer in the laundry room only takes quarters, even the laundromats have machines with card readers these days. -the pool room would be so warm and comfortable, but the pool water was freezing. -there were no sheets for the pullout sofa bed. The only positives: -they moved me up to the top floor when I couldn't sleep because when there are people in the room above you, all you hear is stomping, even if they are tiptoeing. -the M-F breakfast lady was very nice! It's actually a pretty nice looking hotel. Too bad their management is awful. When looking for a different hotel, a manager of a different chain of hotels (who went out of his way to help me), told my fiancé they are recently under new management and have had a lot of complaints regarding customer service at this hotel, and those complaints are legit, in my opinion. read more

We have stayed at the Hilton several times as they are pet friendly and the rooms have a full fridge, cooktop and microwave. The rooms are spacious, but are getting very worn. The internet service is ATROCIOUS!!!! We stayed there six months ago and the staff said they were actively working to improve it. We could not believe that it was actually worse than six months ago. Want to watch a little TV??? The remote control sucks. There is no channel guide and you have to wait for it to scroll through before you can select the channel you want. RIDICULOUS!!! We sent feedback to management each time we stayed with no response. We would not recommend and will not plan on staying there again. I just checked out of rooms 229 and 231 and have only great things to say about this hotel. The rooms were spotless and smelled clean. The front desk was so friendly and helpful. My family was sad to leave, but we are off to our next destination. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is particular about where they stay while vacationing. It's also dog friendly, which is an extra bonus for those traveling with pets. read more

Honestly wasn't super impressed by this hotel! The staff seemed quite cranky with every encounter we had with them. I could have done a better cleaning job myself of the room we stayed in. One thing I will praise - the continental breakfast was 10/10 (no waffles like most hotel breakfasts but other delicious hot items)...and 24hr complimentary coffee is a nice touch. read more

I'm so disappointed about the customer service of the hotel. As I am long term guest, staying in the hotel for more than 3,5 months and fully pre-paid by company however I not getting any special treatment or priority for long term guest. Almost our requests are ignored. We had to check in and check out several times cause they said they were fully booked even I made the booking a month ahead and there wasn't exemption for us. And as a long term guest, I requested the preferred room and was denied, even though I made request in advance and kept reminding them many times but when I came back they put me in a handicapped accessible room - we don't need it!. They even didn't assign me in any similar room like I requested! The room is smaller, dark, in lower floor so my family is annoyed by the moving furniture upstairs and room has molding smell. They toll me I could change to another room in 1 month!!!! Like that, I have to unpack and re-pack everything to move for the 4th time! Unbelievable!!!! Furthermore, I booked another room for my parent and requested 2 rooms next door or at least in the same floor cause they couldn't speak English, finally we were in 2 different floors. They were so nervous and couldn't sleep for the whole night. read more

The Homewood Suites/Augusta, ME, was a very nice place, in a great location. Our room was excellent and included a small full kitchen with table seating for four, a spacious bathroom, and ample sitting area somewhat separated from the sleeping area. The above being said, we had a significant problem on the Saturday night of our visit when hotel management allowed a large group to stage a very noisy party in (virtually all) of the common areas, and then let this party get out of control. The party lasted until 1:30am, culminating in fireworks (at 1:30am, in the parking lot!!!) that kept us awake for the remainder of the night. The next morning we complained to the manager on duty and received a response something like " ... heard about it ... sorry ... too bad ... ". We do not think this is the way to run a hotel and are posting very negative online and Hilton reviews of this particular Homewood Suites hotel. Hopefully, this is not an indication of how all Homewood Suites are run. read more

We originally had reservations at another hotel but we were unable to stay there due to the fact that it was disgusting. I called Homewood in a panic and near tears. The front desk gal Theresa was so kind and accommodating. She booked us a room for all 4 nights quickly and we were on our way to a much more relaxing stay. We didn't have time for the pool but it did look quite nice. We did a few loads of laundry during our stay and I feel the machines were clean and well maintained. The room? Fantastic! Clean and nice with lots of room. The kitchen was very helpful for us and made our stay more affordable because we could bring stuff back and have leftovers or if I wanted I could have cooked. But let's be real, I'm on vacation and I don't want to cook. The sofa bed was comfortable and my daughter liked it. I would highly recommend this hotel. Homewood Suites has won me over. read more

The service here was amazing. At breakfast, the kitchen staff was bustling back and forth to keep the supplies and food stocked, doing an amazingly quick and efficient job. I saw the same lady probably 5 times in the eating area, each time doing a different task rapidly. Although the dining area was a bit dirty, it was hardly the fault of the hotel staff as I'm sure they would have cleaned it up as soon as they could have. The buffet line and island region was cramped and difficult to navigate, but that was a mere design flaw in the kitchen. Our rooms were spacious and gorgeous with a pretty view; the furniture was top-notch and well-appreciated from our clan. The entire facility was wonderfully decorated and cared for, it was a great stay and a fully functioning building that was able to help us with whatever we needed thanks to their organization. read more

we showed up here at about 3:00pm. when we went into the hotel it was extremely nice and looked very classy. we went straight to our room which was extremely neat and tidy. it was very clean. it had a mini kitchen on the left, a table with 2 seats, and in front of the doorway was a fairly large sitting area. it had a couch and a chair, with 2 coffee tables and a tv. across the room (to the left of entry), was 2 double beds. they were exceptionally comfortable, but not 100%. there was a split washroom. the toilet and shower were in a seperate closed off room so that someone could do their makeup etc. in the mirror, while someone was having a shower. great setup. the pool was very clean, and it was pretty warm water. above average for a hotel pool. the exercise room was a fairly decent size. treadmills and eliptical machines and free weights and mats. when we went downstairs for breakfast in the morning it was great. they had a large selection of meat, eggs, potatoes and fruit, topped off with homemade pastries and a waffle maker. one of the best hotels i've ever stayed in. if you're passing through Augusta, ME, I would definetly recommend staying here. read more
