We have been very happy with them. The rooms are always clean and the children appear well cared for. Our daughter is always clean and happy when we pick her up and we are given a log of all her feeds. All sleeping children are always on their backs in the cribs, as appropriate. Also the hours are very convenient and there are days when we pick her up and drop her off multiple times (for work), and this has worked great for our family. The teachers in infant 1 and 2 (Amy, Tanya and Gabby) are genuinely caring and attentive. We are sad to be leaving them when we move across the country!

One of our main concerns was the classroom environment--particularly the teacher, who frequently raised her voice at the children and spoke negatively about children in front of them and how much she is stressed out at her job. She would then complain about our child in front of him and the rest of the class when we arrived at pickup, which we found to be both inappropriate and insensitive. Ultimately, we made the decision to move our son to Children's World at their main campus, where he quickly began to thrive again and had no problems. In contrast to the feedback we received at Children's Campus--where a staff member told us our child would never succeed in Pitt County Public Schools--he has done incredibly well in the public school system. That comment was not only inaccurate, but harmful. If you have a child who is active, curious, or needs more movement throughout the day, this may not be the best environment for them. Our family found the experience to be quite stressful and even traumatic. Additionally, the school's handling of our withdrawal process raised concerns. The heart of the withdraw policy is for them to not lose a payment. While other childcare centers we've been part of were flexible about notice periods because they would not lose any money due to their long waitlist--Children's Campus was rigid and seemed more focused on financial gain. They had a waitlist and many individuals to fill our spot- thus no lost money. But they still chose to be inflexible. I would steer clear from the place. The first part made me think it was just a bad teacher, but soon I realized they are just concerned with financial gain in general.

I just want to bring awareness to this situation and while it's not the biggest deal, it was…read moreinconvenient for me so I don't want it to happen to anyone else. I booked directly with a student over a month ago for a full highlight service and had the appointment confirmed by her. Leading up to the appointment I checked in with her asking for an estimate on how long my appointment would take. She responded with a time estimate and I responded back. That was our last interaction over text before my appointment. Fast forward to the day of my appointment I arrive and am being checked in by a front desk lady who asked for my name and who I was there to see. She was confused and told me that my name was not on the list for today. I told her who I booked with and that I confirmed this date with her around a month ago and even checked in with her this past week regarding the time it would take to get my hair done at my upcoming appointment. Then the front desk lady says that she was told (by someone idk who) that I called and canceled my appointment yesterday. I was then confused myself and told her that I had been planning to come today and didn't cancel with anyone. At this point in the conversation the stylist who was supposed to do my hair finally acknowledged me and came over to ask for my name. I told her my name and after about 30 seconds of her looking at her phone she said that "she mis scheduled me". I told her that I might be able to work around it and asked for when she put me down for. Ultimately the date she put me down for on her calendar was not going to work for me and neither her or the front desk lady offered to set up another appointment time with me. They were apologetic but also kind of dismissive about it. Im just left confused as to how the front desk lady said I called and cancelled my appointment but then the student who was supposed to do my hair said she mis scheduled me. Those two things don't align. Anyways. To anyone booking directly with a student at Alexander Paul, I would probably call the salon after booking through text message with your stylist to prevent any confusion and double check that you are in fact in their system for the date you have an appointment with them.

I love coming to the Alexander Paul Institute of Hair Design. I have been here four times to have…read moremy hair cut and styled. This is a training school; instead of being a con, this is actually a pro. Because of that, the students (hairstylists) are working very hard; they are detail-oriented and careful. The lead instructor comes around afterward to "approve" the plan and then to "sign off" on the service before you leave and make any corrections, if necessary (though usually not). The staff are very friendly and they can sometimes get you in for an appointment same-day. One thing to note is that they do not take tips when you pay with card, so you have to Venmo your stylist instead. Highly recommend coming here if you live in the area.
