Through his nurturing guidance, he managed to calm her nerves and gently introduced her to the world of martial arts. It was a sight to behold when, by the end of the session, that same girl was not just participating confidently but even assisting in the instruction! It was a testament to the instructor's exceptional teaching skills and the positive, encouraging environment fostered at Azad's Martial Arts Center. The facility itself is fantastic - clean, well-maintained, and spacious enough to accommodate a group of energetic kids. The staff were welcoming and accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed for a smooth and enjoyable experience. There are too many good things to say about this place. I have a martial arts background as a kid and through the United States Marine Corps and when i got home from Active duty and transferred to the Reserves I decided i wanted to continue to further my Martial Training and selected Azad's because my wife was in a class already and several people recommended it to me. Without telling my whole life's story I had an instructor council me towards their Hapkido and i purposely chose the word council. The instructor was completely interested and oriented towards what i wanted out of it not how they could benefit from my money. I felt genuinely cared for throughout the entire process. Now i have been attending classes for well over a year and have found so many things great about this establishment as i stated in the beginning of this review. They do everything i stand for from physical conditioning to developing a strong moral compass to encouraging community service and betterment. I can personally assure you that any student at Azad's will not only excel in there martial art of choice they well become a better person all the way around. Having been a student at Azad's for almost 8 years and now readying to test for my Black Belt, I can say with confidence that the time I have spent here has been time well spent. The school always has a friendly atmosphere that helps relieve any bad day that people might have, or even further brighten up your day. The classes are helpful and insightful, teaching proper martial arts technique and useful self-defense that can help you in any situation. Grandmaster Farshad Azad emphasizes the importance of respect not only to others, but to ourselves, which is reflected in the way that the instructors teach the kids to show respect to their parents after class and also how we should treat ourselves physically and mentally. Azad's is always a great place that helps out in the community. I have volunteered during the Chico Parade of Lights for a couple of years now and I like demonstrating proper weapon technique using glow sticks for people to watch and enjoy. Also, the Thanksgiving Basket Brigade event to help needy families have a Thanksgiving meal has also been a fun and altruistic opportunity. Azad's is a great place to go to. Hello I just want to give a big shout out to azad's for being a great role model for my kids you have made such an impact on my son's life my son attended about ten years ago he is now 20 and moved to Texas to spread his wings you played a major role and even gave me Guidance when needed it's not easy being a single parent you are always there to lend a helping hand so I Recently just adopted my 2 little cousins And decided to put my 7 year old daughter in there class and man what a difference it is making She was scared and nervous at 1st but after the 1st class she absolutely loved it the Instructors there are absolutely amazing And the work that they do for the community is absolutely wonderful couldn't ask for a better place So I strongly recommend putting your kids in so come on by and Observe the class you won't be disappointed thank you again BILL V. read more

My husband had a stroke in 2012 - some months later, we joined Azad's for Tai Chi. We were impressesd by the cleanliness of the school, and how welcoming the staff was from the minute you walk in the door. Grandmaster Azad encompasses not only the physical part of martial arts, but the mental and spiritual parts as well. My husband is severely disabled, and being in Tai Chi has helped him control the movement of his body in a way that he could not without having been in Tai Chi for 3 years. For me, I love Tai Chi - don't let the slow movements fool you! It IS a workout! And it's helped me in all aspects of my life, learning to be patient, learning to go with the flow, and learning to accept what life has to offer and keep on going with confidence. I went to Azad's as I approached retirement and wanted to practice Tai Chi. I wanted more than the "tai chi in the park" experience. the instruction and method taught have been thorough and invigorating. The benefits to my wellbeing and health have been transferred to many areas of my life. I also wish to note that as I await for my class to start, I witness dozens upon dozens of kids in the youth classes. I'm 83 years young and in my 8th year of Tai Chi and it has been an excellent experience. After open heart surgery I signed up to regain my balance, leg strength, and mental sharpness. Through excellent instruction from Master Azad and his teaching staff I have be able to progress to Black Sash status.
