I was able to get everything I needed here for my tiny amateur container garden. This place has tons of herbs (the scent in their mint section is heavenly), an unexpectedly HUGE selection of peppers, basil, etc etc. Was also able to get some beets, tomato and cucumber plants. They have so many flowers and shrubs - I wasn't able to resist getting a beautiful hibiscus plant that reminded me of my Caribbean childhood. The staff was extremely knowledgeable - helped me plan my containers in such a way as to prevent overcrowding, helped me with soil selection and volume and the specifics of caring for my hibiscus. They carried everything to my car for me and packed the soil into my trunk. Any place that has dedicated parking always gets an extra point from me. They accept cards. Price is ok, not too $$$ but not the best prices ive ever seen but the place is convenient and I'm happy to support local.

Most recently they installed some new flat bluestones over top of a previously pea gravel patio which they installed a few years ago. Dan is a creative, caring, and communicative business owner. His team, led by Seth, was an absolute pleasure to work with - they did a truly fantastic job and were so nice and helpful throughout. After they were done, we had a small issue with drainage (because right after they laid down the patio, there were torrential downpours for days, not allowing our pavers to settle). I'm not kidding when I say within five minutes of emailing Dan on a Friday evening to let him know, he called us to say he and Seth were coming over right away to take a look. Because of continued bad weather, they had to come back a few times over the next few weeks to make sure everything was good. Yes, they made our patio a little slice of heaven, but we were actually the most impressed with their post-project attentiveness and customer-focused desire to make everything right. The garden is part of Independence National Historic Park, and it is free to walk through during…read moremost daylight hours. There are gates that lock during off-hours, however. But its a very interesting experience because it shows off plenty of plants that were grown in Philly during the 1700s. Everything was well-kept and clean, done by volunteers from the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society. You'll even find a spot that was dedicated by then-First Lady Lady Bird Johnson in 1965. It's definitely worth taking a stroll through. Be good to all the plants!

Came here for a 52 Firsts event during Spring Fest and it ended up being such a fun day. There was…read morea lot going on without feeling overwhelming. Live energy, little activity tables, and a small plant sale that was honestly very tempting. One of the coolest things I learned is that they have what's believed to be the oldest ginkgo tree in both North and South America. That alone made the visit feel a little special. I spent some time walking the trails and made my way around the water too. It's really pretty back there. Lots of flowers in bloom, open space, and quieter areas if you want a break from the crowd. I definitely liked the more shaded, tree-heavy sections the most. Some of the booths were set up fully in the sun and it got a bit intense after a while, so having those cooler, shaded areas made a big difference. Staff were very helpful and the trails are clearly marked, which made it easy to just wander without worrying about getting lost. Only downside is the location can be a little tricky to get to, especially if you're not driving. But once you're there, it's absolutely worth it. Overall just a really enjoyable, laid-back outdoor spot with a lot to explore. I'd come back, especially for another event.

Never returned calls and when they did call to set up appointments, they either didn't show, or showed up promising an estimate, never to be seen or heard from again. Luke, the owner, went above and beyond my expectations. My first call, I was called back almost instantly. He came when he said he would ON TIME!! Love this place so much I'm a member. The oldest fernery in the US is small but charming. The trees…read moreare impressive. I love the dawn redwoods, which remind me of my time in Northern California. There are interesting sculptures to see. The formal gardens are lovely, with lots of gorgeous roses. I've not yet taken the railroad. Beyond the carefully curated gardens and arboretum are the wetlands along the Wissahickon. You can spend a lovely day in nature exploring the trails.

It's not unusual to see artists, classes, and families at Morris. Despite this, it never feels crowded. We love Morris so much that we joined their membership program a few years back; it's a membership that we keep active. The community programming is a nice add, and we've even picnicked here once. We appreciate the nods to the community (e.g., the scaled down Chestnut Hill West SEPTA stop), and the areas of Morris that speak to all members of the family. We'll definitely be back.

The Garden was exactly it. We walked through these really neat art exhibits to get through a indoor-outdoor space with food and drink trucks, and it was a lovely place to take a load off. While we were planning on getting food elsewhere, we did opt for a drink. My husband got a couple of beers, which he enjoyed. I am not a beer person, and I wanted to try a cocktail. I could've done any one of the ones they had, but I'm glad I went with the Toil & Trouble. This was one of my favorite cocktails I've ever had, and I can't wait to try to recreate it at home. It tasted like fall, but was refreshing at the same time. This place is awesome! I would make it a point to come here as often as I could if I was a local.
