I feel very fortunate to be a patient of Dr. Ruiz, DO. She has a great MA and they seem to work well together. Dr. Ruiz is completing her residency, and while i get the impression she keeps a hectic schedule, I have never felt rushed during my appointments with her. The other aspect I appreciate is the on-site lab, which provides fast results.

    Rude, defensive staff. At first, the resident said she…read morewouldn't do basic blood work because, well, I had just had basic blood work done... A year ago. Then she said that she didn't want to do basic blood work because I would have to pay extra for that, even though my insurance assured me when I called them during my appointment, that that was not the case. When finally the resident walked me back to the lab area, very defensively, very rudely, I saw what she meant. They contract out to LabCorp. Which means that LabCorp bills a separate copay from your doctor's visit. So much more, including the fact that I didn't even realize that the resident seeing me was not a full fledged physician until over half way into the appointment-- when she said she had to go and get permission for me to get basic blood work done from the attending physician. Such a strange strange, poorly run facility.
