I reached out to Aztec for a quote on 100 chairs for my wedding in April 2024. The individual chair prices were not an issue. However, the issue was they wanted to charge me $625 for delivery and set up. The chairs itself was only $170. Here is the breakdown Chairs $170 Delivery charge $185 Damage waiver $2.40 Sales (I am assuming tax) $835 Total $1210.40 TOTALLY DOABLE Handling $4.40 Houston 8.25% tax $100.22 Total: $1315.02 FOR 100 CHAIRS! I DO NOT RECOMMEND AZTEC RENTALS! I tried renting some tables & chairs for a bridal shower so I sent Aztec a message inquiring on a quote for what I needed. I was quoted the same day, however I was not aware that on certain tables & chairs you can not pick up, they must be delivered. So when I spoke to Kahsha Alford she only told me the chairs I selected I could not pick up. I said okay I will select other chairs. I did select new chairs and she told me she would send me a new quote to sign and pay. This was on Friday. I never received the new quote and I thought well she probably is gone for the day, so I waited on Monday and received nothing. I called Monday afternoon and left a message I didn't receive a call back. On Tuesday no new quote or no call back so I called and left another message and nothing so Tuesday afternoon I called again and left another message. She finally called me back and said they did not have my tables and what they had was smaller and they weren't even the same size! What she didn't tell me is the original ones I requested had to be delivered also I said you didn't tell me that and she said well yes they do need to be delivered. I said so you're telling me I need to go with smaller round tables that are not even the same size. She says yes unless I want rectangle and I said no I didn't want those. I said so you're telling me they only have 4 tables in different sizes left. I was very upset and said this could have been avoided if you would have sent me the new quote. She tried to blame it on my email. She dropped the ball and was not taking the blame! Luckily my daughter found someone else and they are 400.00 cheaper for the chairs & tables I originally wanted and delivery is only 75.00 to fulshear Texas! Long story short Aztec is ridiculous on pricing and my sales person needs to take a class on customer service and make sure she does not drop the ball again and blame the customer! Bait and switch artists. Tried to get a table, then they sprung an extra $50 fee. It says, right on the quote, "$50 for orders made within 24 hours of pickup." I tried to order at 3:40 p.m. and said I'd pick it up at 4 p.m. the next day. They refused to budge on the fee. Misleading, and arguably fraudulent. Look elsewhere. read more

Good Customer Service over the phone and in person. I went on a very busy weekend to pick up a few items that we needed for our upcoming event. I had to wait a while to get my car to the dock for loading. They want you to bring your car up to the dock before they give you any paper work. Because the lady in the front was so adamant on me bringing my car to the dock first I received no receipt for my purchase (proof). Returning the items was a breeze Monday, I eventually got my receipt after stating I needed one... I would recommend Aztec. I would only ask for some consistency throughout the loading and unloading process. read more

I did a lot of research on party rental places when planning the last Elite Event. I considered a lot of factors: prices, availability, quality, delivery price, pickup and drop off times, and most importantly, reputation. In the end, I decided on Aztec based on many reasons. When I first visited the main location off of Shepherd and 6th, I walked into the main room and was assigned a sweet salesperson, Mary Kay, who walked me throughout the warehouse and showed me all of their products. Once their display room is up and running again (it was destroyed during Hurricane Ike), it will be a lot easier to rummage through their inventory. They have everything you'll need for a small cocktail party at home or an outdoor wedding to a national convention or large event like the Houston Live Stock Show and Rodeo. I ordered a bar ($50), 5 high boys/tall cocktail tables (~$12) and black linens to match, and two six-foot tables ($7 each). Once I went home and decided on them, Mary Kay sent over a statement via email, I paid over the phone, we worked out delivery and pickup times, and I was good to go. The crew even set up the bar when they delivered it. My only concern is the price of some items. The tables, high boys are kind of old and scratched up, so runners/table cloths/linens are a must, and the $50 delivery charge from The Heights to Downtown is rather steep. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY ARE A SCAM! I would give them zero stars if I could! I used them for tables, chairs & linens. They claimed there were stains and mildew on the tablecloths and charged me for replacement tablecloths without my permission. After going back and forth with them several times, I disputed the credit card charge. They called and emailed me every day (and were extremely rude on the phone) asking for their "payment" even though I already paid and would not listen to what I was saying. I had initially scheduled for September 9th but due to Harvey the fundraiser was moved to October 14th. Jessica was so helpful and understanding to help me with the reservation. I picked online the Vanessa gold plates along with Arezzo gold cutlery, and the crystal water Shannon. Absolutely beautiful! I definitely plan to rent for future events. I had been renting from Aztec for a few years and the service had been excellent but recently it has been awful. They have been using a new system that has so many unnecessary steps that it is ridiculous. You used to just be able to walk into the place tell them what you needed, set a date and you were good but now you have to go through unnecessary protocols and on top of that their salespeople are not friendly. I was trying to reserve rental chairs with with a Megan Kingsley. She was incredibly rude and not helpful. She was so unpleasant that I wanted to switch salespeople. A manager spoke to me and said I could definitely do so. I was fine with that. I spoke with the new salesperson and then never received an email for me to verify and pay to reserve the chairs. Then on the day of my event I received a telephone call from Aztec asking why I haven't picked up the chairs. In other words this place has failed on every level lately. It's almost funny! It's OK though. I found a place that was cheaper and more reliable. I would have given them 1 star but I guess they have been great in the past so I thought 2 stars were appropriate. read more

Aztec has so many options on table linens & I was able to find three that we used for cocktail tables, the head table, and guests tables. In addition, we rented two fans for the outside cocktail hour, a stage for the band, console table, a little stand for our unity candle at the altar, lounge seating for outside (most people sat for cocktail hour and many people went outside during the reception to hangout) and extra cocktail tables. I own a small business and rent glassware through Aztec multiple times a year. The glassware is never damaged and is sparkling clean when I arrive for pick-up, and they never keep me waiting very long. I just stopped in today to scope out the glassware selection and they have a whole new set of linens that are to die for - just absolutely breathtaking. Love that they are always updating their selection and keeping things fresh. One of my favorite things about working with Aztec is that you can tell their staff genuinely cares - and are never pushy for a sale. There are options out there for rentals, but I'm happy I've found Aztec. PS - I've been reading some reviews about response time, and I would like to say that has never been an issue I've personally experienced. read more

My fiance and I popped into Aztec's showroom after finding them on the internet. I was *very* happy to see the showroom. They had samples of all the things I was trying to visualize online. The staff was very nice and accomodating. They didn't try to pressure-sell anything. It was very relaxing and helped ease my mind to see the tablecloths, napkins, and chairs together. It's not cheap, but it's also reasonably priced compared to other places I looked. I got the impression that they were professional, and I had no thoughts of worry that they would not hold up their end of the agreement. They allow you to put a hold on your items with a credit card, and make changes to your order up to two days before the event (I think it was two days, it was very reasonable), including cancelling it all together. Bottom line: It's definitely worth it to check out the showroom. read more

We planned an outdoor tent wedding in Houston from San Francisco. Aztec was a great find. I called every tent rental company and visited the three most viable option before deciding on Aztec to be our provider. First, they do pretty much everything, from the tent to lighting, decorations, power, tables, chairs, dishware, platters, even nice outdoor restroom trailers. Second, they seemed like the biggest and most reliable company with the most experience. Third, they were the most expensive, so they must be the best ;o). Yes the total cost was expensive, particularly for the decorations and the wood floor we had covering the entire footprint of our 60x60' tent. At least that's what I thought until I saw them assembling everything. It is a LOT of labor. There was a crew of 15 or so men working all day to lay down the floor and put the tent up. The floor was very solid. It had a wood foundation, then a layer of plywood, then the hardwood floor on top of that. overall it was about 10 inches tall. The second day 4-5 guys were putting up all the lighting and decorations. They put in a generator and ran cable all around the tent with outlet available everywhere for the fans and lights. I swear, when I think about how much work went into this and how beautiful it all turned out, Aztec is right on. The crew took everything away, but this time it only took one day, but again it was 15 or so guys working most of the day. Many thanks to Maynard, who was in charge of the lighting and decorations. He did a wonderful job and was patient and understanding of our requests. Chris, the site manager, was very professional and knowledgeable. I wish I could have spoke with him much earlier in the process to help make some decisions on generators and layout before the actual installation. The showroom is very nice. The website is excellent, but it helps to see things in real life to make final decisions as well as to talk with your event specialist face to face. We were lucky enough to have Lacey as our coordinator. She was excellent to deal with on the phone and was patient in handling our many calls and many changes. Make sure you feel comfortable with your planner because when we visited the showroom (wihtout an appt), Lacey was busy with another client so we worked with another planner on that day. The difference was night and day. Someone with experience and good customer relation skills is a necessity. The only thing I would recommend to Aztec is to invest in some higher quality pole tents. Some events call for a more sophisticated quality. I was really hoping for a sailcloth tent which I had seen at another tent wedding on the east coast. Gorgeous. These white vinyl pole tents are beautiful from afar and at night but up close during the day could look even better. Overall, excellent work Aztec. The initial salesperson Julia was not professional regarding her email responses about the contract and I didn't feel comfortable with her as my salesperson.She frustrated me so I called and ask for a supervisor which was Vanessa. FIVE!! stars for VANESSA... She was AMAZING!!..I didn't want to deal with Julia and Vanessa took the lead with my order and the process from the contract to delivery and pickup was...all 100%. Everytime I come for a pick up for an event, the warehouse team takes extra steps to ensure that the order is perfect and that everything is accounted for. UNbelieveable. 12/2013 update: After never having paid me the refund owed from months ago, today I come home to an invoice from Aztec stating that *I* owe *THEM* the amount in question, $117.46. My head just almost exploded. They charged my credit card at the time of the initial rental and have received all of their payment! They're the ones who never issued a refund to me! Either they are actively engaging in fraud or their accounting department all failed math. Either way, I strongly recommend avoiding this place and the MONTHS of hassle they create. I rented children's chairs, two children's tables and a tablecloth and was very disappointed in the quality. The chairs were all damaged, some very badly damaged with large areas (2 to 3 inch diameter) that were missing paint. Many also had broken hinges so they did not stay locked into place and two of the chairs collapsed on children sitting in them because of this. The tables were in bad shape as well. They were covered in old tape and were very dirty. I shouldn't have to clean the rentals before my event. Additionally, I was told when I ordered the items that I could "schedule a delivery time" but a few days before the event I was told that delivery would be anytime from 8am to 5pm. Like many people, I can not just sit and wait at the event location for 9 hours. I requested a phone call with 30 min to 1 hour notice and was given a 10 minute notice for delivery and no notice for pickup. There is no reason they can not give a more reasonable time frame and at the very least, have a driver make a phone call to notify me in advance of their arrival. read more

Just used these guys again for a party this weekend. They were reliable and had a large selection of goods for rent. The website didn't show much of the everyday stuff. However, they had some hefty price increases since I last rented, including an $80 delivery charge they failed to mention over the phone. The $12. per table polyester linens were no bargain. I could have purchased them for that, and the tables were old and wobbly, the plain glass plates were scratched up as was the silver. They never called before delivery as promised, just showed up. Trying to get them to give me a pick up time was worse. It took several phone calls on my part. They need to work on their communication if they are going to charge primo deliver/pick up charges. All in all, I will call around more next time to get better pricing for plain jane stuff. I think if money is no option and you want expensive, unique party stuff, then perhaps this is more your speed. They have upgraded a lot since I last used them. Still don't have any of the LED stuff though which is fun for a night party. read more

I will never use this company again and I suggest the same to anyone else seeking rentals. There was an unauthorized charge placed on my credit card by one of their representatives. I simply called after placing my order (by the way the order was already paid for in full) to see about how much extra delivery would be since it was not on my original order. I expressed that I already had delivery set up and it was not needed from their company however in the event that my delivery didnt hold up I just wanted to explore other options. The representative contacted me several times after I asked the question and I never responded due to a death in the family. She charged my card anyway without asking me or confirming with me that I actually wanted the delivery. When I called upset the representative and the manager spoke to me as if I was wrong for not returning her phone calls. After holding the line for over an hour no one came back to the line. I hung up and called back and of course the office was closed. I called the bank and asked that they dispute the transaction in which they agreed. After going on with my day I get yet another alert from my bank that they charged my card again and this time for the original order which was previously paid in full on Jan 03, 2013. I have yet to receive my credit back to my card!! I will keep you posted.... read more

We selected this company to provide our chairs at our October wedding. We contacted them in June and they gave us an initial quote. Over the following weeks they refused to return our calls, and after we repeatedly tried to place our deposit with them to secure our contract, the kept coming up with excuses as to why they couldn't process our payment ("we're having technical difficulties" "we just merged and can't find your account" "I'm the only one in the office today and I'm not sure what to do"). FINALLY, we got someone on the phone to assist us who seemed to know what he was doing, and he told us that he's been booked on our wedding day for months and there's no way he could help us. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE. Extremely unprofessional, unfriendly, and unhelpful. We were extremely disappointed. read more

I ordered a variety of items from Aztec for an intimate bridal shower including chiavari chairs, linens, flatware, and dishware. Everyone was extremely nice! I was able to request a quote online and saved an hour trip to their location. Brittany was especially helpful and went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed! Their prices and quality are much better than other rental companies in the area, and they sometimes have specials/deals that can drastically cut costs.
