This place is a cooking and learning experience and another locals favorite. It's less than a mile from Marco Polo Plaza Hotel.
You order at the counter, and they provide the ingredients sauce for you to cook in the wok. Azul also provides a one burner, portable stove. Once cooked, you then dip then sauce with "Puso" - a rice, covered and braided with bamboo leaves, cooked slowly in coconut water. This rice dish is only found in Cebu, and it's what the locals eat daily as their rice staple. Best to also eat with your hands. It's how the locals eat it.
There are instructions how to cook the sauce at the wall. Azul also has inihaw (grilled in charcoal), cooked squid, seafood, and the famous Filipino Sisig dish, made from parts of chicken and pig. I was surprised they also provide dim sum and they cook this for you. Actually, it was delicious. There are indoor and outdoor dining area, but it's best to eat outside as it can get warm indoors.
If you are in the area, this place should not be missed and should be in your local foodie itinerary.
