I couldn't have been happier with B and B. They replaced my leech field. Every aspect of the project was handled seamlessly. All my worries were alleviated. The office staff were super nice and efficient. The young man ( owner's son, I believe) who was at my site was easy going and so knowledgeable and skilled. They came in with a large crew, who worked together so well, even seemed to be having fun, and were basically done in less than 6 hrs. They came back, as they promised, when it was warmer to seed the dug up earth. Other bids did not include that. They did a great job and were fairly priced, better than my other 2 estimates. We had to replace our septic system, I got a recommendation from a coworker that had his replaced and he was fully satisfied. So I did my usual three or four bids, and they were the best price and of course the most qualified. This a family run company, the owner (father) came by to discuss the project (on time) and he sent us a bid in about 3 days in writing. They discussed have their own engineer to develop the calcs and plans for the local Board of Health permits. They coordinate with the town for all issues, they came to do the perc test and it ran smooth. When we hired them they took care of everything. We needed an extra chamber for our septic design, they originally (verbally) quoted 3 at the perc test and we ended up with 4. They explained that the engineer felt more comfortable if this was done. Hey it was only another $150 so they said it will not be any more labor charge just the material. I agreed with no hesitation. They are very up front with all issues and they don't hide anything. They came to install (there son is the forman of the crew) and yup it is very nerve racking to know they are going to dig up your yard (but that what they have to do). I stayed home to watch and they were very clean, minimizing on their excavation and the clean up was beautiful. Again they do everything! that is the best when I only had to pay one check to them instead of multiple people having to coordinate schedules and information. We were so impressed with their upfront professional and friendly business, We expanded the scope of work. We always wanted to expand our driveway (simple excavation with new crushed stone) so we decided to ask them to do this work after the septic project since they were still on-site. This was the best thing we have done, we love the job that they did. (FOLLOW UP REVIEW)!!! We had a problem about 5 months into our new septic system (it was a Friday about 4 in the afternoon). Our downstairs toilet was backing up. (NOT onto the house). Well I went out to the tank and it was high.... What the heck???? So, I called the company (the wife answered) she was extremely nice and said her husband would call back. He called in 10 minutes, we discussed the problem and he said someone would get back to me. Again 10 minutes later the son called and he said he is on his way. Keep in mind this company is 50 minutes away from my house. He showed up and we did some trouble shooting and we found out an issue with the distribution box was clogged and he was able to fix this very easy with some hydraulic cement. (I am in engineering and I know what happened) some silt filtered into it over time and it was a fluke thing. The cement made sure it would not happen again, (which is did not). The point of this follow up is to show that they back up their work. when the Son was done fixing it we shared a beer and he said he was in his hunting blind and came for me. Dear B & B: In my wildest dreams I never thought this septic project would go so smoothly.  Watching Rick and his crew was like watching a well choreographed 'Dance of the Septic Cod'.  Seriously, it was incredible.  No one needed to speak, everyone knew exactly what their job was and all had their tools with them. If I could have put this on video with music it would have been awe-inspiring.  (You should do that and put it on YouTube.)  The main dance was the brilliance of Rick with his machine: effortlessly digging, twirling, lunging and hurling his treasure to a waiting truck nearby.  His machine movements were athletic, smooth, graceful - sublime!!  Never have I seen such a sight! When the crew had to wait for the inspector to come, they STILL didn't stop.  Some had bricks to lay, others had raking to be done,etc.  Rick brought out his rags and began to polish his trophy like a winning rider brushing his stallion.. I can only tell you that when all seems disappointing in the world, this 'Dance of the Septic Cob' and the soul of its crew, gave me hope and inspiration.  I am only sorry to be so lame as to not know the name of his machine.  I personally named it "The Cob" which means a male swan. To start with Bob's knowledge of the surrounding area is awesome. Why is this important ? Because when he arrived at our initial meeting he had reviewed the Title 5 report and instantly identified that it was incorrect. Not that this made me happy, but it showed me he knew his business. He provided a prompt bid that was competitively priced, as I have had systems done on various homes and project I have done. They provided everything in one package from engineering , BOH dealings, installation and electrical ( was system with a pump) through final grading which was done on time when it was supposed to be done. I recently had to put in a new septic system as mine failed. I solicited a couple of bids and B & B was the least expensive. So I hired them. They were out digging within 10 days and spent 2 days replacing my system. The crew never stopped working once they started the job/ They were spotless on refurbishing the area they excavated. Really most professional and reliable. I can not praise them enough. Also had a couple of dealings with the office personnel, and they were as efficient and professional as the workers. I have to give this company 6 stars out of 5. The owner should be quite proud of his staff. Just as an aside I do not have any affiliations with the company and do not know any of the staff. read more

Terrible customer service! Called B and B for a title 5 inspection and when they came out they said the system passed inspection and didn't need to be pumped. We get the inspection days later and it said it needed to be pumped! Called B and B and left message and didn't get a call back for over a week. When I finally reached someone they wouldn't change the paperwork or give a better rate to come back and pump it to make it right. Terrible experience and definitely don't recommend them. read more

Once again, B & B Excavation dealt with things in a stand-up, responsible manner. Our 4 year old system backed up unexpectedly yesterday, Sunday, with renters in our Cape Cod home! I was 2 hours away from the house with guests sitting down to lunch! After my initial 2 minute panic attack, I contacted B & B Excavation, the company that put in our system. They sent a great guy, Skip, out to the house immediately. Skip found the problem, a clogged filter, emptied the tank, checked that the toilets flushed and drains were draining properly, etc. with our renters and was my hero! Honestly, this is as good as it gets in terms of customer service. I had to manage this from afar; B & B Excavation was and is simply terrific. All is well; renters are happy and impressed. One more thing: My neighbors at the Cape needed their septic system replace and asked me for a recommendation for B & B Excavation. I gave it to them, they did their due-diligence, went with B & B and are very pleased. So my 5 stars remain! These people deserve accolades! read more
