After we had settled on a plan (the Gabriel plan), I was impressed that one of the owners of Brookside came to the site himself to discuss with us the placement of the building and offered suggestions and resources that only someone with a great deal of experience--and local experience--would have been able to provide. Our property is heavily wooded and on an unpaved road in the country. Brookside was able to accommodate our location and assist us with everything we needed for a smooth build. We were living in California and working with the Brookside team primarily remotely. Our sales consultant/CAD designer, Joshua, was extraordinary to work with. His patience and expertise with the design changes, suggestions/recommendations and knowledge of the process was invaluable to us. This was the first home that we had built (although we were simultaneously involved with building an additional dwelling unit at our California property that took the same amount of time to build but should have been a much smaller project) and Josh made the process seamless. As with any building process (I am experienced in senior housing development), there were glitches along the way. We caught a couple issues during visits to the site which were immediately corrected. We also wanted a few changes after we saw the building taking shape which were also accommodated--some with a change fee, others not. For me, not being able to see a model home of the plan we chose (or other plans) was a bit of a negative. After the home was built it did not seem as large as I had pictured it and we wished had built a larger home: this was no fault of the builder, of course--just a suggestion for consideration when choosing a plan. The large variety of plans that Brookside offers and their ability to modify and customize the plans was a huge selling point for us. Our Brookside home is exceptionally well built and gives us great peace of mind that we will enjoy the home for many years to come. Our experience with Brookside has been excellent and they have proved to be a builder of integrity and value.

The floor was so bad, that I didn't even realize that it had a pattern going around it. Sam brought it back to what it looked like, 100 years ago. I am amazed at the job that he did. I have lived in the Grampian Hills Apartments for 5 1/2 years. The apartments are large with lots…read moreof storage space. I love the location. The office and maintenance staff are topnotch. But the apartments have lots of problems. They have been around since the 1970s. The appliances, flooring and paint is freshly done for each new resident. Unfortunately, the walls do not seem to have had the kind of regular maintenance that should be done on apartments this old. Mine are buckling and cracking all over the place. It looks nasty! My bathroom is a disgrace. I have had to have the flooring replaced 3 times because of water leaks and I have 2 colors of tile in my tub surround. The complex only rewires the apartments with fiberoptic cable if the tenant specifically requests them to. When I moved in, I was advised by Xfinity that rewiring was necessary to get the proper reception for my HD television and Wi Fi. Grampian did rewire for me, but I had a terrible mess to deal with because I had to off load 2 closets and they to cut holes in my ceiling wallboard. Dust was everywhere. Not a pleasant thing to deal with right after moving into a new place. And to top it all off, I was told by Xfinity that my service will never be as good as it should be, because not all the apartments in my building have been rewired, therefore I will have feedback into my system. So, I am paying for premium cable, which I am not getting. It is also incredibly noisy in my apartment. While the apartments are soundproof in many ways, when anyone in the apartments above me runs water, I hear everything. I can tell when toilets flush, the dishwasher is running, when someone takes a shower and when they run their washer. The washer and dryer in the apartment(s) right above me are located right above my bedroom. When my neighbor(s) run their washer in the early morning, I cannot even hear my television without almost doubling the volume. When the washer spins, the picture above my bed will sometimes move. I live on the bottom floor and all Summer long my apartment smells musty, even though the complex has provided me with a dehumidifier. This summer, in the middle of the Covid 19 pandemic, I had a major incident in my apartment. In the 5 years I lived in this apartment, I have had 4-5 leaks in the dining area ceiling. Each leak was immediately investigated, patched, and repaired. However, the leaks were occurring in a main water pipe that just so happened to be in my apartment. They finally decided that the pipe needed to be replaced. It took 5 men and about 6 hours to make the repair. I had damage to multiple things in my cupboard that got drenched in one of the leaks. I had multiple holes in my ceiling for a couple of weeks and many more while they were making the repair. Then I found out that this pipe had something like 15 patches in it. It should have been replaced before it became the crisis it did. So, if you plan to move in here, make a careful inspection of your actual apartment before you move into it, and ask a lot of good questions. You will be paying premium rent, so do not settle for less. Lastly, beware of the parking lots!!! In the last 18 months, my car has been vandalized once and hit twice. The complex has no cameras or other security measures. In all cases, the individual(s) who damaged my car made no attempt to leave a note so I had to incur the cost of my vehicle repairs.

I have sent many complaints to the management office about smelling Cigarette smoke coming into my apartment from other tenants that are smoking in there apartments. As far as I can see nothing has been done. Management is only here twice a week 8 hrs. Per day when they are not here people think they can do what ever they want . I do not recommend this place to anyone.
