Home Bargains is a large chain of discount stores, owned and supplied by TJ Hughes. This store in…read moreparticular is in Oldham, it is quite a big store and opposite both stores on the high street and the bus station, due to its' size. This is quite a big store and due to this, and it's size, it can make it hard to find something, if you are just running in for a certain thing, rather than something else for example. I find the layout confusing, compared to my local "Quality Save", which is supplied by the same company, where it is easier, so it proves the company is aware of an easier layout. Maybe even adding isle numbers could be better, especially in larger stores like this one. This is one of the main reasons, of which I can't give a very high rating. It is kind of like a jumble sale in a way, and regular readers of my reviews, especially of discount chains and Sports Direct stores will know how much that frustrates me. They is quite a few checkouts, yet queuing here always seems to be a struggle, perhaps adding staff to tills could help as if you are coming in a store like this, you will just expect to be in and out for your bargains, not waiting at a checkout, which is one of the things that types of discount store should avoid. As I have not had a full look around this store, I can't really comment on much more, most prices seem good however they is some, as with all stores which are over the top, for example DVD prices for things which may look cheap, are not here compared to the likes of Amazon for example, with some dvds being around 50 percent cheaper their, I'm not going to go into details as I am not reviewing the sellers of Amazon, but still they need to learn to compete on dvd prices, as they use "cheap", "low" numbers to make it look good, when in all honestly it is just simply a cheap dvd anyway and their price simply isn't. The staff seemed a little arrogant, the member who served me happily criticized a member of staff, although it was nothing major that added comment was not necessary, and the way she said it made me feel she was in some sort of leadership position, so she should know that involving customers is a no go. Due to the factors considered, especially in the layout of the store, dvd pricing and issues with the staff and queuing, I feel that this store is quite disappointing compared to other branches of the Quality Save / Home Bargains chain and only deserves 2 stars.

They stock a good range of toiletries for all ages and gender. A wide variety of cleaning Products is availible and you can find the same brands week in week out. Poundland also have a very extensive range of tools in stock for the DIY nuts. Basically you can find most of what you need for any occasion in store at the reasonable price of £1. Staff are always very friendly and will help in anyway they can. You can sometime wait to be served but this is due to the vast amount of people who use the store and not lack of care from the staff. Overall a fantasic shop, well worth a visit while doing your weekly shopping.

I am a person who is always looking for a bargain and having a poundland not more than 15 mins away…read morefrom where I live is great. Yes the shop is kinda small for the amount of people usually in there at one time and the queues are usually massive at the The tils but a small price to pay for the cost for everyday branded items. Also there is a gem or two that you can find to give people as gifts. Whether you love to bake, read or clean (well no one loves to do that but hey) there is something for everyone at poundland including pretty but cheap earphones and CD's for the music enthusiast and seasonal clothing accessories such as sandles and wooly scarves, mothers/father's day gifts and even Halloween costumes and Easter/Halloween/Christmas decorations. I would say on an average time I go, I go to spend around 3 quid and end up spending way more as there are so many great deals. You can even go there for a cheap lunch as they sell sandwiches from the fridge and even fruit in some stores and even canned drink usually on offer so you can be set for the day.. The grapes may be a thing to be wary of as the ones I bought were super sour but that could be just bad luck. Why settle for less than the best when you can get the best for a pound! You can also buy certain home brand items such as makeup and even these are just as good as branded items. Certainly worth checking out even if for as few rarely bought items. Car and pet things are also available. Yes the store is usually crammed whatever time of day you go and the shelves are always fully stocked however occasionally such as around Christmas items you may go for will not be stocked as they make room for seasonal goods. Check out what's at your local poundland today.

When she contacted Housing Units, they refused to take responsibility and told her she had to deal with the manufacturer herself - completely unacceptable since she purchased a fireplace from Housing Units and was paying them for a service. An online engineer for Evonics, gave her the ridiculous instruction of switching the rocker switch on and off 15 times, we thought he was joking. Obviously this didn't work so she had to wait some more. After two months of waiting, an engineer finally came out, only to confirm what we already know, the fireplace was faulty. She was instructed to go and start to order a replacement, which she did, only to be told it would take 6 to 8 weeks for delivery. However, I have speaking housing units today, she discovered that the replacement hadn't even been ordered! Now, she's been told it will take another five weeks, meaning she won't receive a fireplace until May - six months after purchasing it! They have told her she needs to dismantle the fireplace herself. To make matters worse, She does not have central heating, so housing units have left a pensioner without heating throughout the entire winter. My mum has been a loyal customer, and this treatment is disgraceful. I am absolutely shocked at the lack of care and responsibility shown by housing Units. The customer service team have not shown any care or understanding. Having to wait 6 months for a very expensive fireplace to be replaced is shocking. It so sad because she is such a loyal customer. From previous experience IKEA provide a much better service and do not expect their loyal customers to do their work for them.

I thought it was a steal of a deal because it was half price at £750 and it was using real oak. After 3 months of patiently waiting for my dining table, they delivered my package in one huge box, they never told me it was going to come in two boxes, this was never communicated by email and the delivery driver didn't say anything either. The delivery driver said to sign a form to confirm delivery and left in a hurry. They never explained that there were meant to be in two boxes. I thought it was going to be in one. Later that evening I opened the box and discovered the legs were missing, I thought "not to worry, I'm sure if I email them they'll send me my dining table legs ASAP". To my surprise and utter dismay, the customer service team emailed me back (picture of the email attached) saying because I signed the form, they cannot send me over the legs or give me a refund. I rang them after pleading to send the legs or provide a refund and they refused. I had two witnesses with me that can state only one box was delivered and not two. Also Housing units can't even send me pictures of proof saying that the two boxes were delivered. They're simply taking the word of mouth over the driver's over mine and refuse to send me my legs or give me a refund. I am completely and utterly heartbroken that I've lost £750, all I have is a plank of wood to show for it. I can say hand on heart this is the most despicable company that I've ever come across. I would say avoid at all costs unless you want to get scammed like I have.
