I am a property manager so when I'm hiring contractors and vendors, I am looking for the best. And, these guys are it. What makes a snow removal company the best do you ask? Aren't they all the same? Nope. First, they have to be extremely reliable. They are going to wake up early in the morning and get to your address on time. Snow will be all removed and the area will be properly salted afterwards. Also, make sure they use the correct salt. Salt is salt, right? Nope. You need to use the correct salt for asphalt and cement. Using rock salt will destroy your sidewalks over the years. Also, finding the correct company that sells the salt is not easy. For example, the outside of the bag says something. They will state a certain calcium blend. You think it's true, right? Nope. You can have two bags from the same exact company that melts snow at different temperatures! Anyway, Paul and his B&M Snow Removal Company have shown to be extremely reliable and timely. I don't have to worry at all that the work will get done before work hours begin. I also am sure that it will be salted with the appropriate salts. In simple terms, they do a GREAT JOB. They aren't one of those companies that shows up late. Spreads the wrong salt or barely spread any salt at all. (I can tell you countless stories of people not leaving salt at all and claim they did! Some will even send me pictures of previous snow days in which they did in fact salt. They don't think I can tell. I can't believe the scams that people try to pull!) As you can see, there is a lot of different factors in snow removal. Let me assure you that you won't't go wrong with this company. They are honest and good. I had the same experience as others on here. Paul (the scammer) gets you to agree to a contract for the 'season'. He then shows up one time, flakes another time, then ghosts you when you really need the work done. Stay very far away from this company. Don't trust this company, they take your money and run! I signed a contract with Paul for snow removal in December for the winter season. The payment is in three installments and covers unlimited snow removal for the season within 4 hours of snow ending. The first snowstorm, no one showed up. After more than 4 hours, I called Paul and it turns out they shoveled the wrong house. They came back to shovel my house correctly. The next snowstorm was New Year's Eve. Again after 4 hours of snow ending, no one showed up. I called Paul and he said his team started late due to the holiday and they did come in to put down snow salt. Then came the big blizzard of Feb 23rd. That was the final installment due date. I paid by zelle, texted Paul the proof and confirmed his guys will remember to shovel driveway. He replied back yes. The snow ended at 4pm and no one showed up by 9pm. I texted Paul and asked when his team will show up. No answer. Next morning, still no one showed up. I texted and called Paul- phone went straight to voicemail. Tried multiple times that day, also called his company and left voicemail. No responses. B&M was contracted for seasonal snow removal. Prior to this year, their commitment to client service was untested til this 2026 unprecedented storm since 2016! Good grief, almost 18 inches in BK and this "dependable" snow removal company has failed to provide the cleanup removal job expected despite attempts to reach out on behalf of Damapa tenants in this residential property. It's really such an insult and a travesty when you trust a biz person to behave with integrity & provide the service promised in good faith and with pre-paid finances. If I were only to be able to rate this clown with negative stars I would, Paul is a joke and a thief! This is not hyperbole, I zelled him $675 and he never did any work! All I received in return were excuses, excuses, excuses! I waited 4 days to have a parking lot plowed and each day was an excuse why he couldn't do it. The last day he actually met me at the property..Without a plow!!! He said he just wanted to take a look(after I had already sent him photos). He wears a logo on his coat but this guy may not even own a plow! I'm not a shrink but Paul actually may be a sociopath and definitely a pathological liar, I believe he suffers from mental illness. Stay away if you know what's good for you! Any positive reviews must have been placed by him. Thanks Paul, you saved me from a back breaking day. We own several properties that due to our age is becoming more and more difficult to handle shoveling snow. It was great to watch the snow fall and I know I didn't have to leave my home to go clear the sidewalks or walkway for my tenants. TOTAL FRAUD: AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!! Our business hired B&M in December 2020 just prior to a major snowfall on 12/16. We were asked to pay up front to be added to the schedule (& we chose to pay for a season contract for the slight discount) for snow removal in addition to calcium chloride treatment for sidewalks. Not only did B&M NEVER show up to clear our sidewalks and driveways, they sent photos of a completely different business to prove they had visited our site (I had to point out to business owner Paul in an email that the business he sent photos of was not even on the same street as our business). We spent HOURS trying to contact Paul only to to have a stranger pick up the phone saying they had found it in the street (really??)... We ended up contacting the insurance company named on the COI so see if it was a fraudulent business (they claimed it was legitimate) and they provided alternate cell phone numbers to reach Paul. Those phone numbers ALL went to a full voicemail box and our emails went unanswered. Our emails demanding a full refund for breach of contract finally elicited a response the next day from Paul (after we had finished the hugely laborious task of clearing the snow OURSELVES). He apologized for going to the wrong address (how that could happen after confirming our address which was also clearly printed on the contract he generated, I still have no idea) and he promised this wouldn't happen again and sent a "service manager" to survey our site so, being out the money on the season contract that Paul didn't want to refund, we hoped it had been a first time error and things would proceed smoothly next time. When the next major snow storm came this week on 2/1/21, Paul promised on a phone call with our building manager that all snow removal would be complete before 7am the following day. As of 7am the next day, we still hadn't had any snow removal. When we could finally reach Paul on the phone, he claimed they were minutes away. As of 9am on Feb 2, they were "26 minutes away" but never showed up. After that, all calls went to a full mailbox and now on Feb. 3, our calls and messages are still unanswered and mailbox are still full- same story as with the storm in December. WHEN YOU NEED THIS COMPANY THEY WILL NOT SHOW! At FULL COST TO OUR BUSINESS we had to hire another snow removal company 48 hours after the storm with B&M still MIA and this business showed up promptly as promised and cleared all our snow with no drama, no run-around, no hiding from the customer which seems to be the way that Paul operates his business. Our business has NEVER encountered anything like this shameful behavior by someone who claims to be running a legitimate business. STAY CLEAR of this company! They will take your money and waste your time on endless phone calls that lead nowhere and you will not even get the service you paid for. I've now written to Paul for the second time asking for a full refund for the season contract we paid for up front - now with ZERO snow removal after 2 snowstorms and still no response from Paul. I am disgusted by not only the utter lack of professionalism by B&M, but the total disregard they have for the businesses that hire and rely on them not only for our employees' and customers' safety, but also to avoid fines by the city for failure to remove snow (and the danger of personal liability lawsuits). I cannot believe that one single positive review for this company could possibly be real. I am filing a complaint today with the Better Business Bureau and am warning all potential customers to avoid B&M and to make sure this company isn't allowed to continue this scam. We live out of state and we couldn't get to our property in Brooklyn for the last storm so we called Paul the night before the snow storm. He quickly arranged to handle our property. The next day, Paul and his guys came right after the snow stopped and did a great job shoveling and salting our property. My advise to anyone reading this review is to stay away from B & M Snow Removal Services Inc. *** DO NOT ENGAGE THIS COMPANY BECAUSE THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND WILL NOT PROVIDE THE SERVICE***. I contacted this company on 1/31/2021 and spoke with Paul. I agreed to pay for the entire season at the insistence of Paul since he claimed that he did not want to have to pursue customers for unpaid balances and there was a discount if I paid the full amount for the season. In consideration of the major snow storm forecasted for 2/1/2021, I agreed and paid the entire amount for the season. As per Paul's email and our agreement, the payment would cover 24-hour unlimited seasonal snow removal and calcium chloride services through 4/21/2021. Paul also indicated that a certificate of insurance would be provided on 2/1/2021 via his insurance broker. Paul/B & M failed to provide any snow removal services since entering into contract on 1/31/2021. Additionally, the certificate of insurance was not provided by Paul/B & M or his insurance broker. Paul initially appeared friendly and professional; however, he had not responded to my numerous voicemails and emails seeking an explanation for his/B&M's failure to perform the servicers for which I paid in full. Paul finally contacted me on 2/17/21 after I sent him an email on 2/16/21 indicating that I would contact the Attorney General's office, Better Business Bureau and Department of Consumer Affairs. When I finally spoke with Paul on 2/17/21 he provided a series of excuses why he/B & M failed to provide the services as per the agreement. However, Paul could not explain why he had failed to respond to my prior phone calls and emails; only responding when I indicated that I would have to contact the aforementioned organizations. Paul then agreed that he would refund the amount I paid by Friday, 2/19/21 since he/B & M had failed to provide any of the services indicated in our agreement.
