She said in a nasty tone, "Well I'm looking at my system and it does not have a confirmation from you." I said "I don't care what your system says. I did confirm. I'm looking right at it." She repeated, very argumentative and condescending when she should've been apologizing: "I'm looking at my system and everyone else is confirmed but you're not." I said "Then your system is broken because I confirmed! Check your email. I confirmed." Now she yelled at me "Don't speak to me like I'm a child." Excuse me? SHE was the one scolding ME like a child, when she should've been APOLOGIZING for standing me up when I had a confirmed appointment! IN ADDITION: This whole business of "confirming" is ridiculous. I made the appointment, and I didn't cancel it. Even if their system somehow missed my confirmation (which is inexcusable) you don't CANCEL an appointment without contacting the customer. They have my cell number. They should've notified me that they were cancelling. Then I could've directed them to my confirmation email which they somehow missed. Also: Their email made it sound like confirmation was optional. It said: "Hello. This is a reminder that Phil will be with you on (date) between 2:30 & 3:30pm. Thanks, Dom's Landscaping. Reply yes to confirm or visit (website). Thank you." That email says Phil is coming! It does NOT say (but it SHOULD say): "If you don't confirm, we won't show up, and we won't even contact you to let you know we're standing you up." Since that is apparently their policy, they need to make that clear. But again, I CONFIRMED! I have proof. And I waited! And no one came. And when I called, I got scolded, even though it was THEIR FAULT. This is a terrible business.

They worked around Decembers rain and snow and frigid temps to get the repair completed before Christmas. Their sales system was basically providing the offer of a "low cost" chimney cleaning, as a segue for more upsells. Since then, they've CONSTANTLY pestered me year after year with sales calls / offers for chimney cleaning since they are "in my area." I've asked them again and again to REMOVE my number from their list - but they won't listen, so I've reported them now to the FTC since my number is on the DO NOT CALL list. Sorry, but any contractor worth his salt is always busy and doesn't need to drum up business (Hint: I manage 7 doors locally and over 40+ units now / over 100+ at the height of my holdings - every great pro I know is booked weeks / months out). Vinny came to our house and was very detailed in explaining what he thought the problem was and how he would fix it. He listened to my questions (I tend to have a lot) and didn't try to upsell us. He said he could do all of that but we would be fine with an exterior membrane. I met with two other waterproofers who pretty much said the same and Vinny was the middle quote -yet we still chose him because he was honest and down to earth. Also I liked that his sons do the work so I trust they will take care to do it right. They scheduled us pretty quickly and got to work right away at 7 am. Three of them hand dug a 25 ft x 9 ft trench over two days (originally was supposed to be one but they needed a second because of our collapsing soil). They sealed the foundation and took care to replace my window wells, put my Sprinkler lines back, and stack the pavers they had to remove. They were respectful to me and my neighbors and didn't mind me hawking over to see them work every once and a while. We were very pleased with their work would recommend them.
