Overall it's the best for sweets, chocolate, big packages, old fashioned candy, mixtures, anything you want they've got and a lot of it is cheaper than poundland. It's also great for home necessities such as toilet paper, paper towels and cleaning supplies. Other good finds are cereals, can goods, sauces such as ketchup and brown sauce. They do have fresh meats and frozen things in the fridge and freezer, I personally would just come here for candy, crisps and packages goods!

There's a massive range of items ranging from food and alcohol to pet supplies, tools, cleaning products and toiletries. The lsit really is endless and the prices are rock bottom! There's also a warehouse at the back of the store that sells fantasticly made furniture at a fraction of what you'd expect to pay in high end department stores. The staff are friendly and helpful. The only problem is that once it's gone, it's gone. So if you spot something you like, make sure you stock up on it whilst you have the chance!

The store is large and has a good selection of bits and bobs, from pillows to appliances, from ice cube trays and cheese-graters. Considering, they're supposed to be a "discount" chain, I did find some prices to be a little high, if you're lucky you'll find a high-quality item with a good discount/offer though, so it's kind of like a TKMaxx jumble sale but replacing the clothes with home items. The staff seemed friendly and happy to help me find what I was looking for, and the experience at the checkout was smooth. This is a fairly good store, obviously, some deals are better than others, but probably the best selection of home furnishing in the Manchester Arndale, with a fairly presentable store and helpful staff. 4*

The staff are always helpful and the store is clean and well presented. They also have a pretty good reduced to clear range. If you're in to DIY like me you can pick up something that's a little damaged for a ridiculous price and fix it up at home. I've saved so much doing this. I also find this shop to be ideal for gift shopping as they stock such a wide range of products, the packaging tends to be beautiful and I can pick up items here that I wouldn't normally see in other shops.

People are often quick to take the time to write negative reviews, so I felt it was really…read moreimportant to share my very positive experience today 11/05/19 in the Prescot store. It's the one with the garden world and cafe. I went into the store to purchase two very large and heavy plant containers. Being by myself I was unable to carry these. Despite the store being busy , two very helpful staff members came to not only help me, but bring the containers to the till area and kindly brought them and lifted them in my car. All the time they were doing this, they were also helping out other staff members and customers. They were polite, helpful and a credit to their employers. I feel that such positive and outstanding employees really do deserve some recognition , so much so that I spoke to the store manager, to praise the employees, she was aware of how great these two staff members were already and also created a nice atmosphere in the shop herself. The staff members I later learnt were called Greg and Jack L . Keep up the positivity, it's really refreshing. And thank you .

I can never quite make my mind up about these shops, sometimes I enter to find them full of tat I would only expect to see on sale at a seaside resort, other times I find them full of unique statement pieces that are a bargain and would look great in my home. This variety and speedy turnover of stock makes for a great visit either way though as you just never know what you will find. In my opinion one of the best home shops in Warrington, especially when it comes to Christmas-they always pull out all the stops to stock up with inexpensive but beautiful Christmas ornaments-I know i'll be checking back regularily in the run up to Christmas day.

The store is clean, tidy and well maintained. The staff work hard to ensure the shelves are kept well stocked and tidy. The store is often busy but the staff open new tills as needed and serve customers quickly. My favourite items here are the Hello Kitty fleece blankets and Live Colour hair dye for £3.99.

Anyway, how the Buddha does Home and Bargain function as an actual profit-churning business? Everything here is so cheap you end up scraping the price tags with your nail to see if some joker has tippexed over the pound signs. Nowhere else in the city can you buy a full range of fatty snacks and still get change from a quid. These aren't fake brands either. No 'Snikkers' or 'Cwavurs' or 'Ghalaxy Bars' here. No my friend, it's all the real deal. Now fill your pockets and scarper before they realise they've priced everything wrong. The only things that bring more joy than the low prices are of course the conveyor belts leading to the till. Each one is about the length of a 15cm ruler snapped in half. The woman on the till can touch the far end of it with her elbow. Nevertheless, you will still place your box of detergent on the belt and together you will both watch it trundle the few inches into her open hand. It's one of life's small pleasures.

Sometimes a bargain is available but most things seem to be overpriced especially for a cash and carry. Tesco usually have better deals on! I have never seen a rush of people here or a rush of staff for that matter. On my last visit I think there were only two other customers in the place but when I came to the tills to pay I still had to wait and the lady who served me was verging on rude! I only go here when I am desperate for something I can't find elsewhere.

The staff always proved to be extremely helpful when asked. I think those who have complained about the attitudes, possibly didn't make their requests clearly enough, or were aggressive in manner, but can't really comment further. Yes, there are times when they don't have stocks of some items I am sure every business has run out of something at one time or another, especially when they have as many customers as Makro do.
