This is a small family friendly RV park. The owners are a super nice couple that are very accommodating and want to ensure your stays is good. We stayed at RV spot #6 that had a really nice overhanging deck that looked out over the lake and fishing pier. The spot had a full RV hook up with 150 satellite TV channels available. The water level is shallow enough for small kids to swim safely. Two fishing piers and canoes and kayaks for rent to go play on the water. Bring your cast net so you can catch fresh bait from the pier. Dog friendly RV park as well. read more

We stayed for 4 days and 3 nights. Rick and Bernadette were wonderful and thoughtful hosts and did everything they could to ensure we enjoyed ourselves. We stayed in cabin 3 and it was very cozy and comfortable. Access to the lake and piers were easy and we were able to get in hours and hours of fishing. You must understand what you are renting. This is not the San Luis in Galveston or the Caribe in Orange Beach Alabama. These are small, lakeside cabins where you go to relax and get away. Even at full capacity, the resort was quiet and peaceful. The cabins were furnished with everything you could need in the kitchen INCLUDING COFFEE. Pots, pans, dishes and silverware. There was no dishwasher in cabin 3 but that's not a big deal. We are already planning a return trip for the same length of stay in the not too distant future. If you enjoy nature and like supporting locally owned small businesses, this would be a perfect option for you. read more

Spent a few days here before the Fourth of July 2018 in cabin #5 after booking on Airbnb. Rick and Bernadette were amazing. Rick gave advice on fishing and even offered frozen bait which saved a trip to the store. Bernadette checked in multiple times to make sure that everything was fine. This has been a nightmare. I wish we never booked our stay here. We went, we stayed a couple of hours and were not comfortable with the accommodations so we left. We felt like the AC was not adequately cooling the cabin to a comfortable level. There was a pile of debris in front of the cabin and there was lots of debris and trash in the lake. My wife wrote a bad review and the owner decides to threaten us with litigation then proceeds to stalk our social media pages and post our full names in retaliation. We don't even care about getting the money back that he refuses to refund. Rather than stay professional, the owners made this very personal. For your own sanity and piece of mind do not stay here and risk dealing with what we are now dealing with. read more

I loved my stay here. I stayed for over a week. I needed a break the hustle and bustle of there big city, Houston. The owners were super friendly and accommodating. If you have any questions, they are able to answer them and assist you in your stay to make sure you have a wonderful time. It has two piers, both have swings and nice view of the lake. You can fish, or enjoy your cup of coffee at the pier and take in the view and forget about your stress during your stay. You can also rent kayaks or canoes and enjoy the lake water to your hearts content. Bonfires at night is a must!!! I loved it. S'mores and more! If you need to buy essentials from the store, the drive to the closest grocery store is just 5 min away! So convenient. I must say, I recommend this place. The cabins are beautiful!!! Better than most places that you see around the area. So homely and clean. It's so worth it. read more

This is a little place off the beaten path. Beautiful, on the lake and quite. There are beautiful cabins to rent and RV spaces to rent also. I live here and love it! Bernadette and Rich, the owners, are the nicest and most polite landlords I've ever had!! This is a nice place for a romantic getaway or for family fun. This was by far the worst experience we've had as a family on vacation. We chose this place because it seemed quaint and out of the way with few people around so we could social distance while getting out of the house. While putting some money into the local businesses in the area. When we got to the property Bernadette was finishing up with the cabin and we started unloading the truck as soon as she was done. It was pretty hot in the cabin, but we figured since she had just finished in it that perhaps she had been going in and out and that may have been why. The interior of the cabin was clean and cute, with an open kitchen/dining/living room that was being cooled by one small struggling window unit AC at the far end of the room, a box fan wedge against a wall, and two small ceiling fans that you couldn't really feel much of a breeze from despite them being turned all the way up. There were two bedrooms, each with a portable AC unit and one with a small ceiling fan. The bedroom off of the kitchen had a unit that worked really well, but the bedroom off of the living room had an identical unit that was only blowing on one side and the room was much hotter than the other although not as boiling hot as the main room. The front door of the cabin seemed as though it might be poorly weather proofed and I watched a couple of spiders crawling in and out from between the two doors which only highlighted the fact that the AC was not going be able to cool things off if any cool air in the main room was escaping through the cracks. The bathroom which was between the two bedrooms had no AC or ceiling fan, and was quite hot. When my husband let Bernadette know that the cabin didn't seem to be cooling off much she came down with another box fan and emptied the water tray in the struggling portable unit. She then told us it was pretty hot in her main house also but that hopefully things would cool down by sundown (which was hours away) and to let her know if we didn't want to stay. After two hours of profusely sweating and not being able to cool off we decided to leave, we were all so uncomfortable and the cabin hadn't cooled down much at all. There was no way we were going to be able to spend multiple days in that heat. My husband let Bernadette know and she called her husband down to the cabin. Her husband, Rich, was aggressive and argumentative. He kept pointing out that it was cooler in the cabin than it was outside- which isn't hard to do when the heat index is 110 degrees and there is a heat advisory. We agreed that yes it was cooler inside but still far too hot and pointed out that all of us including his wife were sweating after standing inside the cabin. He insisted that it would cool off at night and didn't seem to understand that we weren't interested in spending our vacation sitting miserably in the heat with no escape for half the day. He argued that many people had used the cabin previously and had no problems, he argued that we should be able to deal with the heat until tonight. He also flat out refused to reimburse us. He did at one point offer to call an AC guy who WE would have to pay for to look at the AC and that IF that guy agreed the AC wasn't working well that he would give us back half of our money. We told him we weren't paying for any repairs or servicing to HIS unit. He stopped listening after that and just continued repeating that it was cooler inside than out. We left. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Avoid at all costs unless you enjoy sitting in a pool of your own sweat. UPDATE: The owners of this property have now contacted us twice and threatened to sue us if we do not remove our reviews. Not only that but they have since alleged that one of us is "crazy", and that we didn't call to let them know we were coming ( which we have phone records showing we did), it also seems as though promoting social justice issues and being into metal and macab art things these folks can't wrap their heads around. All of this just underscores the truly awful experience we had. read more
