And I get a different gp with every appointment I go to. Now I hear that this is fairly standard and I normally wouldn't be bothered by this cause Im not normally sick. But with my Crohn's I need to do follow up appointments with them instead of going to my specialist in Harrow. And so they make life difficult and frustrating. And some of the doctors are smart asses who know nothing of IBD's. Grrrr.

It should read "our rude, patronising and belittling practise....."!! Someone needs to shake them up and realise they are there to provide a helpful service to the very people who contribute to funding the NHS and creating the jobs they are employed (poorly) to do. I am a newly diagnosed diabetic and it is fair to say that I am struggling in finding my way through this life adjustment. A number of times I have been scoffed at when asking them questions about how things are normally done. one example of many: "what do I do about disposing of my sharps bin?" to be responded "look after it yourself, what makes you think we should do that for you?" It is a shame because the Docs are very friendly and helpful - although a little disconcerting when I went to them with a broken insulin pen to be told that they had no idea what to do, I probably knew more about it then they did ..... I rarely take the time to write such reports, but feel these receptionists really are in the wrong profession. I hear "Grumpy Old Women" is casting in the west end - possibly a more fitting career move??

Dad had district nurses coming out daily to set up his feed up, he'd had a bad stroke a few years ago which affected his swallowing so he had to be peg fed. So many doctors and nurses had seen my dad but they didn't refer him to an oncologists until it was too late, he passed away 1st October 20016! I have worked with Dr. Gerlis for decades and his clinical astuteness--his ability to "connect the…read moredots" so that the patient understands the biology of their presenting complaint--is a wonderful gift to any patient. At the same time he builds up a "developing history" of the patient (over years) revealing underlying somatic patterns that are hugely important in making not only differential diagnoses but in providing clinical advice or referral. Knowing that one can email such a person and hear back within an hour (usually it is within 15 minutes) is healing in itself and leads both doctor and patient to come to reasoned and thoughtful decisions during a time that might be stressful. And it is fine that a clinic now offers in person drop in appointments. A model from the 1960's (when drop in's began) which is now revived and renewed in the 21st century. Great stuff.

I didnt know this but i could phone through to him too! recently my toe took a major battering in a footy game and well its not a pretty site. initially i got on to google for advice on looking after it, as you do but there were so many conflicting pieces of advice that i picked up the phone no appointment or anything and got some tailored advice from my GP! The other Doc at this practice is Dr Bukhari she is the main and long term doc there. i have been seeing her since i was a kid and despite now having reached the age of 31 still calls me "sweety, darling or baby"! Both Doctors show a great level of concern for you health and will insist on monitoring your health until they are satisfied with results.

And this is the complete opposite of the spectrum when it comes to GPs and the NHS. I thank my lucky stars for having re located to this surgery, actually I thank my chiropractor who told me about them. Not only was the doctor quite thorough in my daughter's health check, he listened attentively to what I was saying, re assured me that it was nothing to be worried about (a viral cold that would go away in time, there are no medicines for that) and gave me some home remedies, which worked. Me and my husband were given appointments for standard health checks the moment we registered. It is a small surgery, which comes to show big is not always better.
