I left my pedals at our last rental in Tuscany. They supplied me pedals for no extra cost. Rode around the lake 100mi/160km. I arrived back at the shop 45 minutes after closing and they were still waiting for me, Grazie Mille. I expected to be charged for an additional day. I was wrong!! The bike cost me 20 euros for the day. Don't look any further for a great bike shop with exceptional service.

As it was, we had to run between tracks at Milano Centrale to catch our regional connection, and just barely made it before the doors closed and it took off.) My chief complaint about this hotel is the lack of clear directions on how one finds the entrance. And look, it may have been sheer exhaustion or our vacation brains leading us to get lost - for several minutes - once we arrived, but I couldn't find anything on the airport's site, Marriott's site, or the map to pinpoint where, exactly, one entered the hotel. (For those curious, if you're taking the train in, make a left before you hit the big glass tunnel, you can't miss the doors and the sign. My husband mis-understood the instructions and led us on a merry (but not really "merry") chase through the car rental area before realizing we'd done a big ole donut and that we'd need help. Americans, amirite?!) The staff was friendly and helpful, which I've come to expect from Marriott employees the world over. The lobby was big and beautiful, and felt calm and welcoming - something I'm absolutely certain was planned because travel can be so stressful. My next observation is about the size of the hotel. It's not a complaint, more of a "whoo, didn't expect *that*!" because our room was up, over, sideways, into, out of, above and under. I kid you not, it took us almost 10 minutes to walk from the elevators to our room. My Bonvoy account is set up to request "room away from elevators" and did they ever deliver on that! It took us so long to get to our room that zero part of me wanted to leave it again until it was time to head to our gate. (But of course, the man needed dinner.) The room itself was spacious and comfortable, and the bed was just as cozy as I'd hoped. We got a good night's sleep, even though we got to bed late and had to wake up early for our flight. Was it an extravagance, booking a different hotel? Probably. Did it make a world of difference in our final day of travel? Absolutely. And I wouldn't have changed a thing.

The only problem is the pillow in the bag on top of the closet was filthy with black mocks thank God I had two pillowcases so I took one of the pillowcases off that was all dirty and it was the second pillowcase. I guess they don't check those. They have a billiard room downstairs but there's a conference table in it no pool table there's also a café or lunch coffee or breakfast place downstairs it's a buffet you pay. It's not free because $10 for the buffet. All I got was coffee charged at the room and came back up. The problem was we only had one key my wife was in the bathroom so I couldn't take the key out because the lights would go out so make sure you get two keys.

The walk from the train station to the…read morehostel was only a 10-12 minute walk, and if your stop is at the end of the train stop called Como, you will be walking in a lovely stretch of the street overlooking the lake and restaurants! The check-in process was fast, and the staff at the front was super friendly. The vibe of this hostel is amazing. I love the whole setup, and it's conveniently located in the central area for shopping, eating/ coffee shops, and boat tours. The hostel's outdoor bar/patio area is excellent for hanging out with friends and people-watching. The staff offers food and good selections of drinks during your stay for purchase. (The bar is open 24/7!). I booked a six-bedroom dorm style for females only, and the whole dorm was clean; the beds were sturdy and beautifully painted with bright yellow color. The view from my dorm overlooked the other outdoor patio area--it would be a great spot to chill in hammocks and chairs if the weather was nice (during my stay, the weather was rainy/gloomy). Since I came during the weekend, there was an event at this hostel every night, which allowed me to interact with other groups or solo travelers from all over Europe who were also in Lake Como for a weekend getaway. I highly recommend this hostel to those looking for a hostel that is safe, clean, and fully staffed with people who genuinely love meeting new travelers and helping them when needed. We needed a place to store our bags until our AirBnB check-in, and we wanted to explore Como town unencumbered. Ostello Bello is just a short walk from the train and was easy to get to. I can really only speak to my experience in the lobby and my interactions with the staff, but the vibes upon walking in were really great - good tunes and lively atmosphere. Our bags were quickly checked in and secured, and we were on our way! It was just as easy to collect them a few hours later. The staff also went above and beyond in helping us arrange a taxi to our AirBnB. I can't say enough about how lovely and helpful they were! Although this is a hostel, you can book a private room at a very affordable rate. I would definitely recommend this place as an option for young people traveling on a budget or looking to make some new friends. It seemed like there were lots of activities for people looking to socialize. The location of the hostel is also great, close to transportation as well as a market right next door. I would definitely use the luggage storage service again and maybe next time stay for a drink at the bar!
