The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the train station. Check-in was in-person with a friendly member of staff. My husband loved that the vending machine in the lobby dispensed Radlers! We stayed in a triple room including breakfast. The beds were comfortable, the wifi worked well, and hot water was plentiful. Grateful for the air conditioning as we were in Mainz on one of the two hottest days of our tour of northwestern Germany. We managed to get the last table for breakfast as it seems a really popular place. That said, this was the most expensive place that we stayed at on this trip, which surprised us given the distance to the train and the city's main attractions. There is always someone stationed in the lobby, so we felt very safe going in and out of the building. There is an underpass that we need to walk through to get to/from the train station, but there were generally other people around. read more
