Jeff and Jet at Crown Tree received the cumulative highest score. Others scored high too but were much higher priced. Others made it clear we were just a job. The range of price was significant and that astounded us. We highly recommend getting multiple quotes and look for the things mentioned above. Our Bradford Pears are 40 years old and trimming and shaping makes them beautiful trees but they require repetitive grooming every 2-3 years. These guys will get first dibs next time and the right price will get them the job (again). They know that! We may not have to get other quotes. They listened, they performed, they did an excellent job and excelled in clean up too. They're really nice guys and it was an enjoyable experience. Give them a call, give them a shot. Regarding when I was visiting my elderly dad: Went through the whole process of getting an…read moreestimate, scheduling the work, then the guy shows up for the work and says, 'sorry, can't be done for the $3,000 we quoted you (see attached for written estimate), it's now $10,000. He tried to get a hold of his boss, but he was in a meeting. Next day we call them and he said, 'we'll do another estimate' - so then another guy comes over, and he quoted $5,400 for half the work (2 trees versus 5) -- arguably more expensive than the $10,000 quote. Seriously? I need these trees dealt with before they cause a bigger issue (one was struck by lightning and already had a branch fall off). Well, they said they had some guy who was giving incorrect estimates that no longer works for the company. Does that sound like a reasonable story? A guy you employed was giving estimates, you were scheduling the jobs, and then, what? You fired him because you realized you can charge double to seniors in need of urgent work? By the way, we had another company that did more work for $3,400 -- arguably cheaper than your original "incorrect" quote. I guess legally you have the right to refuse to honor an estimate (although if one of your customers cancels you charge a 10% penalty - isn't that ironic?), and there was no bad outcome here (thankfully) other than a massive waste of our time. But frankly, there is dubious trustworthiness here... Related to which, why does your estimate form say you have a 5.0 Yelp rating when the actual rating is 4.3?

Jason visited the property, assessed the situation, made his suggestions and gave a very fair quote. When they came out to take a look, talked with the guy for several minutes about why/when/how trees are trimmed, and shortly after he left I received the quote in my email. They just finished the job today, and I am very happy with the result. Went over what was in the job invoice and where I wanted the trees trimmed, what to do with the remaining wood, etc. I asked to keep a few of the cut limbs for firewood and they even sectioned it down for me. VERY happy with the service, nice and polite folks that dealt with my curious self watching them do their job. Looking forward to having groomed trees and my dog having sap-free fur.
