I ordered a product in-store, at the same time as purchasing other items and the employee said I'd receive a call or email in a couple weeks once the item had shipped. After a bit passed the time I hadn't heard anything so I stopped in to check in on it. To both of our surprise, and mistake, we saw and realized the order had a delivery date of the year 2027. I asked if it was real, or a typo, or something that could be addressed and fixed. Then he checked for it online, and the item and all its variations were gone, even the corresponding sku number was attached to a different item all of a sudden. He was unsure and was eager to help, get more information from the vendor. He notated my contact info, and said he would get back to me soon. Almost a week later, I was called and told the item was no longer available to Menards, and that I would need to be refunded for it. I said okay, but that I had just had foot surgery literally 2 days ago, and that I would be in for the refund as soon as medically allowed to be up and on my feet again. Since then, that Menards store has called me EIGHT times, leaving voicemails asking me to come in for the refund, it had only been a month. I let them know I had an appointment that week and would then know better when I could make it in. She was insistent I come in, to which I asked why it was so urgent I rush foot surgery recovery to come in for an error in your system. It was said to me that the paperwork was cluttering up the work area and needed to be cleared up. Are seriously expecting me to believe a big box company of your stature doesn't have filing cabinets or proper processes to keep paperwork in order? I went in yesterday to get the refund, however I was denied the refund of the money I paid because the card I used was no longer active- it had expired. Credit and debit cards all come with expiration dates that are enforced and are out of the cardholder's control. So, I was told that basically, my money is being held hostage and the refund was available as store credit only, regardless of the receipt in my hand or the base error being of your cause. This is wholly unacceptable and certainly feels not legal at all. I am prepared to provide the dates and times of the phone calls if necessary. Monica and Roland are the unhelpful and disrespectful managers of the south Lansing, Michigan store, #3158.

    First time at this location. We found it to be better staffed than the Novi location we go to…read more Customer service was pleasant and helpful. The Christmas area was tidy although not everything was correctly labeled on the shelves for the Christmas items. We were easily able to find a team member to ask questions to. There seems to be more of them at this location as well as more lanes open. All in all our shopping experience was a good one. I would definitely return to this location in the future

It came and we thought the color seemed off but we figured sometimes hard to gauge how a table will look based on a small sample. So we carried on. Didn't love the table but also didn't hate it. But we were very aware it didn't match our kitchen cabinets that we matched up the sample with. Fast forward to this summer when we decided to order a coffee table, an end table and entry table in the exact wood and finish as the dining table because with an open concept living concept the last thing we wanted was to to add another shade of wood to the layout. It was already off given the difference in the shade of the table vs our cabinets, which was supposed to match or at least be close. Everything was ordered to match. Yay! Then they deliver the coffee and end tables and they are the EXACT color of the original sample we used to decide on our dining table but definitely NOT the color of the dining table. We loved it but it confirmed-something/someone messed up our dining table finish. They sent out someone to take pics after we reached out.. It's obvious. After a few weeks we then hear there's nothing they can do. Sooo, they mess up, offer no explanation (or even an apology) and....that's it? Very disappointing. At the very least, own your mistake. You're better off at IKEA where you'll know the furniture matches.

    As an Okemos native and firm believer in shopping local, it is unfortunate that my experience with…read morethe Pilgrim House was a bad one. I purchased a Bassett leather sofa and reclining chair as well as the extended warranty for both pieces the end of August. 2023. By May 2024 the finish on both pieces of furniture was starting to peel and a stitch coming loose on the seat of the sofa. I contacted the warranty company sending close up pictures. I was told that this was "clearly a manufacturer's defect" and to contact Pilgrim House, which I did immediately. A home visit was scheduled a few weeks later to have someone from Pilgrim House repair department view the pieces. A couple of weeks after the home visit I received a call saying they were contacting Bassett about the problem. Another 3-4 weeks later after my numerous attempts in to find out if Pilgrim House has heard anything I was told they would contact me. Finally at the end of August 2024 I received a call from the Pilgrim House repair department saying Bassett would not do anything more than send a tube of paint to color in the areas that were peeling. I then asked to speak with the owner of Pilgrim House. He returned my call me a few days later. After expressing my shock and displeasure with the proposed resolution, he told me there was nothing more he will do. I asked if he would be satisfied with that answer. I reiterated that the problem started so soon after delivery and I purchased the extended warranty, I was told by the owner in a most unprofessional way that there was nothing else he was going to do. Obviously customer satisfaction was not a priority. It took almost 2 months for Bassett to send the paint and then wait for the repair visit where the paint was applied and the loose stitch fixed. I WOULD NOT recommend Pilgrim House and DEFINITELY would not recommend buying the warranty unless you use knives and sharp tools while sitting on the furniture as that would have been covered.
