I won't tell you that this is the best Italian restaurant that I've eaten in, but they surpassed my expectations. The food was very good and the portions were very large. Some dishes were plated very attractively (others, well, they were a little repetitious). Their red sauce was tasty. Their gnocchi were great; their shrimp appetizer was also very good. The wine menu is a bit limited, but there are enough decent choices at very reasonable prices that you an overlook the short-comings. The waiters are attentive and helpful. The ambience is a little lacking in charm. I'd say this is a really safe bet if you want some Italian food while in Recife, and I would definitely consider dining here again.

Vesuvio is among the best. The crust was crispy on the bottom and soft and chewy around the perimeter. The toppings were fresh and abundant. You can tell the owner and his team enjoy what they do, and they do it well.
