OK, let me start out by saying this was not my first choice for dinner, but when another restaurant was unavailable, I called my hotel's concierge and asked for the name of a nearby place and they recommended Dom Ferreira.
I won't tell you that this is the best Italian restaurant that I've eaten in, but they surpassed my expectations. The food was very good and the portions were very large. Some dishes were plated very attractively (others, well, they were a little repetitious). Their red sauce was tasty. Their gnocchi were great; their shrimp appetizer was also very good.
The wine menu is a bit limited, but there are enough decent choices at very reasonable prices that you an overlook the short-comings.
The waiters are attentive and helpful. The ambience is a little lacking in charm. I'd say this is a really safe bet if you want some Italian food while in Recife, and I would definitely consider dining here again. read more
