They have a fantastic range of just about everything you might need! and the staff are on hand to help you with whatever you need eg car seats are tricky and need to be fitted carefully and the staff are always happy to help you get the right one. There's toys for newborns right the way up to older toddlers, although, I find that they are slightly costly. There is a lovely selection of clothes - including school clothes, again, can be slightly costly but they regularly have sales that see some good reductions. All in all, if you're a parent, it's definitely worth a look

And this is certainly no bad thing, that's for sure. Although I really dislike that particular phrase, 'yummy mummy' (a bit too cutesy and edible, and almost a patronising way of complimenting women) there is nothing to dislike about the shop itself. In fairness too, the shop name is perfectly adequate to describe what you can expect within. It is a unique concept boutique, which aims to provide mothers with comfortable and fashionable attractive night wear and accessories. Inside you will find all kinds of delightful items, from jewellery to handbags to clothing to accessories, in a beautifully thought out and specially design collection. It's clear from their designs, and from their website, that a lot of passion, creativity and tireless work has gone into making their boutique what it is! Not everything there is to my taste, but these things are always 'each to their own', and I can't actually flaw the product within. From hand made leather brooches, to cute floral reusable PVC bags, to fabric cupcake pin cushions - everything is quirky and delightful! Just reading their ethos on the website is enough to make you fall in love with their work. It seems their aim is to try to change the attitude that once women become mothers they cease to exist sexually, aesthetically and in terms of femininity - a very flawed and painful attitude that continues to rob mothers of their confidence and self worth today. For that alone these guys deserve one hundred stars! They also do yearly charity work, which for an indie shop is truly great (as we all know how indie shops must struggle themselves!) and they even have some great quotes from strong women on their site. I can't really summarise it adequately so I'll just have to go into detail. I came here with some ladies from my work to spend the collection of £150 we'd put together for a colleague we all loved who was going on maternity leave. I was all nonchalant and blasé and 'yeah, babies, whatever, let's just get some bibs and that'. Until I walked through the door. It's like some kind of different world. I wanted to cry within five minutes. My voice was hoarse from all the 'ooohs' and 'aaaahs' and I couldn't stop pointing at all the teeny tiny booties and t shirts and one-sies. A plethora of clothing, accessories, cots, blankets, gadgets, toys and other baby stuff, this place is quite something. There's an upstairs that I don't think I could quite have coped with emotionally (plus we overspent by £30 because we got carried away), but there's prolly lots up there too. If you're expecting, or know someone who is, and feel that you're strong enough, you have to come here

For such a prominently-advertised website, it's actually quite a disappointment - greeted by a blank box, you 'enter the site' to find a reasonably pleasant welcoming page (although the assertion that 'every mother and father would like to make their child look trendy with baby clothes and footwear' somewhat put me off - for me 'trendy' is the last way I'd like a future baby to look! Bleeurgh!) But then each nicely labelled section at the top is, upon clicking, found to be empty or non-existent. Oh dear! Anyway, back to non-virtual reality...the actual shop is full to the brim with baby gear - plenty of prams that look to be of good quality and practical, a few car seats and baby toys, and a range of baby and children's clothes. The baby clothes aren't horrifyingly trendy, as the website might lead one to believe with some pretty cute baby grows though there are a few mini-grown-up items. Kidswear is trendier, but then kids these days are probably Facebooking on their iPhones by the time they're out of nappies, and we wouldn't want them to be ridiculed in the playground would we? The prices are pretty cheap here, and in the current money-crunch who could blame new parents for seeking out bargains. But clothes-wise I'd always opt for the trusty old charity shop - at 6 months they're only going to grow out of it in a few weeks anyway. And primary school spent in Oxfam get up never did me any harm...but then I s'pose those were the old days!

There's also a wedding section (where you can buy outfits and set up a wedding list), a house and home section, lingerie, make up and beauty and jewellry section. (My perfect shop everything all under one roof). There's also two good cafes. I prefer the one on the top floor as it tends to be quieter and they do nice lunches/ meals.

There isnt a huge selection of clothes but they are always changing so that is good. The store is nice and clean and the staff are very friendly. They sell FASHIONABLE clothes for ladies who are slightly larger, including bridal. The store isn't exactly huge but still manages to stock a wide range. The shop is half way down ivegate which is quite a steep hill which does get very slippy when wet weather so be careful - its always best to get to from the bottom rather than the top of the hill. There is no disabled access but apart from the hill there are no obstacles and no steps into the shop and the shop itself is pretty easy to manouvre about in. The goods in the shop vary from the usual clothes and accessories, cds, videos and dvds to books, toys and games and are all checked to ensure they are good quality before they are put out for sale. While this shop isnt the cheapest of charity shops it is a good place to buy things from but be prepared to spend a while rummaging as there isnt much order to the chaos. The staff are nice and polite and eager to please.
