She said they don't but that people usually get a quesadilla. So we said that's fine. The quesadilla came with jalapeños and the woman told us to pick them off which we tried. My toddler still cried eating it so we asked for a quesadilla without jalapeños. This is when all hell broke loose. The same woman that told us to pick the jalapeños off kept coming up to us and telling us to read the menu better and we should be charged. She wouldn't stop or let it go!! Over a quesadilla they told us to order for our small children!! My husband said "this is dumb" and they kept saying he called the server dumb. He was just perplexed that they didn't just give us a 50 cent cheese quesadilla for our kids without all the verbal assault! When we got aggressive back they couldn't handle it and started insulting us and telling us we were disrespectful. Their behavior deserves this review. Don't suggest jalapeño quesadillas for kids and then insult your customers! Get rid of that server that couldn't let it go. What a nightmare to have for any business! I'm alerting every single person I know to never come to this restaurant.

They have some drinks (not the best margarita but good enough) by the glass, half liter, and liter. Wine available and then beer choices of Corona, Pacifico, or Bavaria. The chips and guacamole is a good sized appetizer (and they brought more chips when requested). The chiliquiles aren't what I think they should be, but are quite good. Kind of nachos. The shredded beef was like a nice spicy barbacoa. Yum! The portion of fajitas was big. It came with guacamole, two lg flour tortillas, and kind of a three bean salad (odd). The bean soup was a very tasty black bean soup. Great heat and nice consistency. I have been missing Tex mex and this place helped. We will be back.

It was an easy bus ride from Amsterdam Centraal, and we weren't exactly sure where to go after getting off the bus, but then we just followed to crowd to... the most amazing food truck festival ever!! Well, I've never actually been to one, but this one was pretty good for my first experience. And I'm so glad we caught the last day of it, as it only happens in Amsterdam once a year. There were lots of people, ample sunshine, bands playing live music, and of course, plenty of trucks serving all kinds of food. We were almost paralyzed in awe with all the food selections and couldn't decide which stands to hit up first--everything looked so amazing! What struck me the most was that a lot of the food trucks appeared to be quite gourmet and were not just your average hot dog and burger stand. The food trucks (AKA "rolling kitchens") were also quite fancy and quirky. One of them looked like a giant pot! Completely different from food trucks you see on the streets of Los Angeles, where it's more function and food over creativity and presentation. At first, I was thinking we should try to go for Dutch food, as we were tourists in Amsterdam, but finally the foodies in us overruled, and we just went for what looked GOOD. We first hit up De Appelchiller for some fresh lemonade that came out of a garden hose. Their truck was cutely decorated in a country cottage theme, and they even had a carousel next to it for the kiddies to ride. They had an old-fashioned apple corer for the kids to peel their own apples by hand cranking, too. The Jamaican food looked delicious, but the line was way too long, and we didn't want to wait, so we didn't get any. But we did have: - Yummy BBQ spare ribs from Smokey Goodness. - The BEST burger we've ever tasted in our lives from The Beef Chief (the Classic Cheese beef burger on a lovely toasted brioche bun). - Some strange sausage and egg things on round toast from the French cuisine truck. Had no clue what they were called, so we just pointed to them on the counter to order. They were pretty tasty. - A pinkish Dutch rhurbarb spirit that was sweet and tasty. - A mediocre gigantic freshly made stroop waffel. This was the last thing we stood in line for, and I was so excited, because I LOVE stroop waffels... but this thing was a bit soft and mushy and not as chewy as I would have liked. Perhaps because it needed to set up a bit for the caramel to cool down? Dunno. I was a bit too impatient and chowed it down while it was still warm. And of course, we drank beer! Unfortunately, since we don't know Dutch, we didn't realize that there was a deposit per cup, and we left our first cups sitting on a table at the Smokey Goodness truck and then had to pay extra for fresh glasses when getting rhubarb spirits. I guess the rules and regulations were clearly written out on giant signs above each bar, but we didn't know what they said because there was nothing written in English. So hold onto your cups, folks! All-in-all, this was an amazing event with some awesome food. Highly recommended if you are a foodie and can catch this event in Amsterdam next year!

Friday evening the event was quite full so you needed to plan strategically to make sure you weren't waiting in lines without something to eat or drink. I did see some folks with their own beers or wine. This may be a great strategy to follow as the beer tents are a bit spread out and very popular! Going Saturday right when it opened afforded a smaller crowd, but things were not really fired up yet. It was nice to be able to walk right up and order what you wanted and it was a bit easier to see all the different stands. So, you'll have to decide which way might be right for you. There are some carnival rides and several bands playing all different kinds of music throughout the venue. For those that know about State Fairs, it feels like a kind of State Fair atmosphere, without the rodeo, livestock judging or the deep fried butter... As far as the food goes, there is something for all tastes from vegetarian gyros to a full rack of ribs to sushi and everything in between. While nothing was out of this world, it was a good mix of different street food and it was all pretty tasty. This event seemed less formal than other food festivals I have been to in Amsterdam, but it was just as fun! The laid back atmosphere is great! I sampled pulled pork, curry, Korean tacos, Mexican burritos, duck, a hamburger, fries, mini-donuts and crepes. All was tasty and with the different bands playing, really made both times I attended a lot of fun. Another event I'm looking forward to attending next year!

So, this beautiful space is filled is amazing smells that welcome you inside and adorable handmade signs with great quotes or instructions. Many of the vendors are set up under tents even though it's an indoor venue, this gives a fun feeling of an outside market. It can get a little cramped and there may not be any seats left when you want to sit down to eat your goodies, but that's the mark of a good spot, right? Here's a run down of the SOME of the food you could find here: Vietnamese, Brazilian, Caribbean, Italian, Greek, and some fancier finds for an amazing price. You can also get coffee, fruit smoothies, honey, granola, pulled pork, and sweets! We bought some awesome fudge in flavors I had never seen before. I've rarely seen so many different options for food gathered in so little space. Pizza, Thai papaya salad, raw cakes, Chinese dumplings, Spanish tapas and a huge range of other options. It's very unique. Hardly any two places serves the same. The standard of the food is in general high and the service friendly, sometimes rather amusing. Prices vary, but overall it's not exactly cheap to buy yourself a full lunch here, though far from expensive. 5 euros here and there might not seem a lot, but it adds up, since portions in general are small. There's quite a lot of room in front of the stalls, so it never feels completely crowded. The options for sitting down to eat are definitely here, but they are limited. However, you're in a park. There're a lot of other options around.

In fact, a few people remarked how we had a very nice table. Mr. Haz is all about tacos. They have a few kinds of tacos with meat, seafood, and vegetarian options. I tried the carrot and the roasted vegetable tacos and loved them. They were soft tacos and were kind of like a pizza except smaller and sans cheese. The preparation was fresh. The carrot tacos were really awesome - crunchy and chewy. We must have had like 6 tacos between us, even though we started the order with just 2. We also had a portion of the nacho chips as well as the guacamole. The chip portions were small and just enough for 2. The staff is really friendly and the server-cum-bartender told us the story of the restaurant. I joked about the quantity of food we ate. It was just that good. A very nice change from the Italian restaurants and snack bars in the vicinity. This food actually has flavor. It wasn't cheap. Not very expensive, either. Definitely worth a nice evening. I'll be coming back again!

Staff don't bother to find tables for you; they let customers figure things out among themselves. Alright. We eventually grabbed a table after 5-10 minutes, then had our order taken 10 minutes later. The food took a long time to come out: about 40 minutes (other than 1 appy that came out after 20). Good thing it was tasty. We got: -plantain fries (€6) -- tasty, especially with the sweet dipping sauce, but you get about 8 fries, so not great value. -okonomiyaki (€12.90) -- this was wonderful. So many lovely textures, flavours, and seasoned beautifully. This was the highlight of the meal for me. -vegan plate (€18.90) -- really nicely designed plate, with a base of brown rice, with a sort of Japanese slaw, vegan chicken katsu, tempura (apparently, though I didn't notice it), and stir fried veggies. Super tasty stuff. Not the biggest portion, but not bad either. My friends each got the crispy roti wrap (€14.90), which they loved, and the taste I had was great. Overall, great food, not the best dining experience. Perhaps my experience wasn't representative. I'd go back for the okonomiyaki alone.
