This isn't like any other antique store you will go in. There are quite a lot of ornate furniture within the store and unique taxidermy animals. The items within would be most fit within a genera of a wealthy and older home with the prices of the items matching. If you are looking for a bargain price on some antique furniture then this isn't the place. If you are looking to fill your house with well preserved antique furniture then look no further. The only reason that I gave it three stars was that the person at the front desk (who I am assuming is the owner) seemed very cold. I had previously been in some of the other antique stores in the area and was treated very warmly; with greetings, assistance if needed, and thankfulness for visiting their store. A very unique shop, tucked into a row of other niche stores. Mostly large items that would be great center pieces for your home or garden. Prices vary but I was able to find a number of books for my library plus some art. Yesterday after work, me and my friend wanted to go antique shopping. She's from out of town and wanted to see the antique stores in my hometown of Walterboro because she is redecorating her home and wanted some mid-century items. I told her Washington St. has wall to wall antique stores and I would show her around. Well, this was one of the shops we stopped in that day and although we saw some unique and beautiful items, that's the only positive thing we can say about our visit. The proprietor, David Evans, struck us as being very rude and condescending when addressing our questions of certain items we wanted to know more about. We didn't appreciate how we were being talked down to or the snarky remarks, i.e. we asked about a painting of a woman wearing a blue evening gown, shoes and gloves in the shop window and the same dress, gloves and shoes that were beside it in real life on a hanger. He just said she just some unknown dead woman without a dress. The condescension of the comment had us taken aback. It was just a simple question, why the attitude? Another instance was when me and my friend were marveling at a old oriental safe. I was tell my friend how heavy the door was and that she should feel it (which he let us do), but then he came back with, "Of course it's heavy. If it wasn't heavy, it wouldn't be called a 'safe", it'd be called a flimsy!" Excuse me?! Also, when my friend asked him if the various taxidermy animals around the shop were things he personally hunted, once again, he replied with a snarky comment. "I work six days a week! Like I have time to go out and shoot stuff!" WTF!!! I don't know if this guy was having a bad day or if he's normally like this, but the visit left a bad taste in my friend's mouth and we both swore that we are never coming back to this place again. Try the other antique shops on Washington St where the proprietors are much friendlier. Oh, and BTW, the guy isn't a huge fan of people giving bad reviews of his establishment. So, if you had a bad experience and write a bad review of it, prepare to be cyberstalked. Real creep! read more

This tiny place is crammed full of really unique antiques. I'm not sure if it houses several dealers or just one, but if it is several, they all have a similar aesthetic: well-designed, well-maintained oddities. Everything from classy liquor cabinets to ornate bird cages to giant hand-carved wooden sculptures. It leans more towards the grandiose and hardly at all towards trinkets or tchotchkes. There are plenty of good antique shops in Walterboro's downtown, but this is the one that sticks out in my memory. It was way out of my price range, too. Nothing undervalued here. read more

This place had alot of really cool but overpriced items. The owner was so very rude to my friend who was asking about some of his items and actually said to her " What is this, quiz day? I already don't like people" he had a couple of pieces that she wanted to take a picture of to show a fellow antique lover who might be interested in the items. He asked her what she planned on doing with the picture, she explained. He replied that he does not want pictures taken of his stuff. He litterally followed us around like we were going to steal something, and everytime I pointed at something that caught my attention, he rudely would say..Do not touch anything in this store..We left the store because he was so friggen rude. We went a couple doors down to another store and got to talking to that owner about our experience, she said he always has a bad attitude, but she hadnt heard just how hatefull he was. I have no idea how that man ever sells anything. I guess he didnt think we could afford anything in his store so he treated us like we were something beneath his shoe. I will never reccomend his establishment to anyone and will never go back. I don't care if I could or could not afford a single thing in that store, you dont treat people like that. read more

Went to this store because I was wanting to purchase a Lion he had. I have been admiring it for a long time. But the minute I walked in the store, he was rude right off the get go. I asked him a question and he responded very nasty. As I walked around the store, I was looking for the Lion and found it but after he insult to me, I decided I was not going to spend a penny! I left and can only say, this was the worst I have ever been treated in my life. I wanted to let him have it but then I thought, what a horrible little man, he has to look at himself in the mirror. This was one of the neatest shops we found. These guys have some of the most incredible things that you will never find anywhere else. I want to go back and buy the 8 foot bear that they have carved out of wood! Absolutely fantastic. read more

This place has some really unique items and the owner is very knowledgeable. We bought several items from this store and just love them. They find the most unique items from this side of the country and bring them to this wonderful antique store where you are sure to find something special. Definitely worth a stop if you are looking for an authentic item. One reviewer noted that the price range was high. I found the prices to be in line with what you expect for the level of quality and authenticity of the items. The owner is very humorous and the unique items in the store are probably a reflection of his unique sense of humor. I did not find him rude at all like another reviewer noted. Fabulous store with some really unique pieces. The service was exceptional. We purchased a sideboard and they delivered it. No problems, no concerns, no issues. Very friendly, helpful, and easy to do busy with. Can't wait to see what they have the next time we are in Walterboro! read more
