We were in Colorado on vacation in July when our car broke down on the highway. We called Bad Rock after finding good reviews online for them. On the initial call they were kind and very helpful. They were able to recommend a couple of tow services which got to us in 20 minutes. Then they got us fixed up with minimal cost and quick. We expected the repair to be much greater, but it was a simpler fix, so they didn't take advantage of our situation. They drove the car to make sure we were safe to get back on the road for the trip home to Kansas with kids. They even followed up to make sure we got back safely. Kind, reliable, trustworthy and you don't always get that in a automotive shop especially in a situation like ours. I had a cooling fan that would not shut down. They determined it needed to be replaced with a OEM fan clutch. This analysis cost me $194.00. Had I known the business had changed hands, I wouldn't have taken it there. Shame on me for not doing better due diligence. read more

Today I was experiencing problems with my power steering on my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee . I discovered that the reservoir appeared to be empty . I was concerned about damaging the vehicle and called bad Rock Auto and spoke to Christian . He advised me to get some fluid and top it off and then drive it straight to the shop and he would put it up on the Hoist for me to take a look underneath and see what was going on . Since changing ownership in February of 2024, I've noticed a big difference in service. The service and honesty has gotten so much better. I've had two alignments done and one had external issues. Bad Rock took care of it and made sure my Truck was running perfect. I never got this service from Big O. They kicked another car out to me twice and the wheel vibrated. I would not recommend this business if you are a Senior Citizen single woman. I came to them with an oil leak to fix and they told me they couldn't find a leak when in fact I had two leaks. One leaking from the oil filter and one leak in the cooling system. I ended up taking my car to Heuberger who thoroughly followed through for me and took the time to thoroughly repair my car. What a horrible experience. I have never had such a bad service experience before therefore I have no idea how to handle. Save yourself and don't trust your car to be fixed by them. They destroyed our car and charged us over 5K. No waranty, screws were loose completely. Plastic parts were attached back without any screw. Had an unfortunate experience with a brake control install. What should have been a pretty simple and straightforward job, when I came in to pick up the vehicle, the bill was close to $200! This is a pretty simple, quick job, and the charge was surprising to say the least. Backstory: I received a "Free Oil Change" coupon and used it previously. No problem, no charge. Let's start off with a big "WOW". Called several places looking for someone to check my belts before I drove my kids to the springs tomorrow (because they were squealing).No place could get me in until next week until I called these guys. First lucky part of my day was they had a cancelation and got me in within an hour. Also had a driver drive me to my house so that I didnt have to wait there. Now the best part. These guys could have just checked the belts but they went above and beyond without being asked or told about the other issues I had been having. What they found could have saved me from wrecking my car or worse. They found that my tie rod was getting ready to break apart and I have a massive oil leak. This could have caused a serious accident. The guy was very concerned that it would break at any time and was willing to allow me to leave it there if I couldnt afford to fix it all the way at this time. They do the work they say they are going to do for the price they quote you. They have replaced transmissions on both our vehicles. The problem is when I went to the shop in the Springs who furnish Bad Rock their replacement transmissions for the 2 week check I discovered Bad Rock charges 2 grand more than the shop in the Springs. 2,800 versus the 4,700 Mac charged me. read more

I towed my Jeep JK to CO for a camping vacation. When I got to my campsite, the transfer case would not shift out of neutral. I suspected that something broke on the cable connecting my transfer case shifter to my TC. I called AAA for a tow to a shop, and AAA recommended Bad Rock. Boy am I glad they did! The staff (Steve) were knowledgeable and polite. Their shop is neat and clean. They got the work done the same day even though a part had to be ordered. Their prices were right in line with what I would expect for a reputable shop. They kept the broken part and showed it to me. And they picked me up at my campsite and brought me to the shop when my Jeep was ready. All in all, I have no reservations about recommending this AAA approved shop to all. read more

Absolutely horrible experience. Called and made an appointment and a week later on appointment day, appointment was never entered but "leave it here, and we will squeeze you in." It get looked at for the first time and entire week later. Was told repair to axle will be 2k! That's insane. But go ahead, keep it at or under 2k. Called a week later and truck is now done. And only $1640! Yay. Go to pick up and its 2448! What the f*#@? Oh an "We broke the hood latch, and cant fix it, oh well" Not even a dollar off for the damage they cause. Took my vehicle into this shop off of a recommendation from a good friend. Originally had a large oil leak and needed help resolving it. Took it in the first time and was told it was an oil pressure sensor and a couple of gaskets causing the leak (waited til 2pm for an update after being told my vehicle would be first in line). All of these were replaced after they attempted to also tack on a headlight polishing service. 2 weeks later I have to take my vehicle back because the leak is persisting. I am informed they will replace the oil pressure sensor for their warranty but that an electrical pigtail connected to it was heavily recommended to be replaced. 200 more dollars and 7 hours later I believed my leak was addressed. The following week I realize the leak, although lessened, is still very apparent. Upon a follow up call being that I have moved to CO Springs they were not willing to help get my car back to their shop for further fixing or reimburse partial payment so I can have it resolved somewhere else locally. Throughout their inspection they failed to mention a split serpentine belt and never offered an oil change after attempting to fix the leak. Not impressed after reading so many good reviews and getting recommendation for this shop. Would not use again. The only highlights was friendly customer service and they cleaned the exterior of my car during the first appointment. read more

Without a doubt, the most experienced and competent mechanics I've ever done business with. I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee just past 200,000 original miles. My brakes were making a screechy noise while driving down pikes peak and I had an 8 hour drive ahead of me so I wanted to make sure it was safe to drive. Wow! I thought trying to rip me off on the tune up was bad enough. They wanted to charge me more than double what it can be done for (almost three times!). I went there in good faith and rented a car from them so that they could do the work if we came to an agreement with what the assessment was. I asked them to add an oil change before knowing how much of a rip off they were. When they called to let me know the price of the overall work, I declined and they told me that they already did the oil change. When I went to pick up my car, they charged me $113. which I thought was including the rental car amount of $40. but, no.... they charged me $113 for an oil change! Don't go there and expect to be treated fairly. I purchased a jeep from Bad Rock Auto in November of 2015 with a 90 day warranty. I have not driven it since October of 2016 and I started having these issues within and shortly out of the warranty. Since the jeep rolled out of their lot I have been spending money left and right in repairs. First was the transmission cooler lines and 02 sensor, the ECM, upper control arms, suspension, and now I am getting ready to replace the transmission and the rear differential which in total will cost me 5,000.00 or more. During my warranty, I tried working with the owner, but he apparently had his head to far up his you know what to admit that he sold me a faulty vehicle (lemon) that needed a lot of work done. I tried being professional about this situation but I truly don't feel that he cared one bit about the issues I was having and I also feel that he thought lesser of my intelligence because I'm a female. Coming from a man who worked for dodge for 9 plus years? I would think you know how to pick out a reliable vehicle when you are a small town business owner and with the work experience he supposedly has. I know that I am not the first person to have such issues with purchasing a vehicle from this business. A colleague of mine purchased a vehicle from Bad Rock Auto and after bringing in his vehicle 4 times during the warranty, very simple problems remained unsolved. I STRONGLY recommend to never purchase a vehicle from Bad Rock Auto. Clearly the owner is incompetent or he is genuinely a con artist. Either way, stay away from this place and please save yourself the stress, time, money and debt that you will have to accrue from buying a car from this business. Rather than enjoying the vehicle that I invested money into I will now be upside down because of a business that cares more about getting cars off the lot than having satisfied customers. read more
