Fresh ingredients, like just picked and just caught. The salad was enough for three and I ate most of it. The shrimp are the best I have ever had. When it comes to shrimp, I am like Forest Gump. Growing up in NC and Virginia and now Texas, where Atlantic and gulf shrimp are a staple and very good, I was blown away. Perfectly prepared, crisp and delicious with simple preparation of bread crumbs and just a dab of basalmic vinegar sauce to make very bite like heaven. Obrigada!!

In difference to the other reviews the service was fast and good which could be the case of the low season. All dishes and drinks are pricy. I ordered chicken with a spicy mango sauce and tomatoes and (buffalo) mozzarella and salad. Everything was really good and no reason to complain. She ordered the steak with fries (palha) and rice. She wanted to have it medium (ao ponto). The first of the two was medium well. The second one was well done. When we complained the waiter said that the steak is medium. After a short discussion he went into the kitchen and they prepared a new steak. The new steak was rare and for her not really a pleasure to eat. Great atmosphere but the food has tons room for improvement especially for these prices. Plus: a waiter shouldn't discuss if the steak is medium when it's dark and so well done that it was almost impossible to cut it.

There are about 5-7 different dishes of the day that you can choose from. I had fish with rice (and fries of course, we are in Brazil) and spinach and it was simple but tasty. I tried my friend's meals and they were also all good. Prices are low, food is tasty, it looks a bit like a canteen but service is nice and the atmosphere too. Good choice!

My wife had shrimp tossed in pasta, and I had a crusted filet of fish over risotto, and both were excellent. Service is prompt and cordial. Very little English spoken, but the menus have English translations. Wine & beer served. Of the two (this one and Bartholomeu), we preferred the latter -- but if you have two nights in town I would definitely suggest trying them both; can't go wrong with either one. Brazilians dine relatively late, so if you arrive at either one in the 6:00-to-7:00 range there is no need for reservations.

The smoked steak tartare is amazing -- I was told they use to change the smoke flavor used on a monthly basis! I also had a shrimp pasta that I liked a lot (not all agreed with me though); tried the pork and it was very tasty as well (no one disagreed here). The wine list does not disappoint. Recommended.
